All eyes in the Midwest today
A life-threatening outbreak of tornadoes is set to occur, life-threatening may be an understatement according to some experts. The weather patterns seem to be converging in all the wrong ways, and the tornado outbreak that comes today may be immense

Weekend radar
Things to pay attention to this weekend while you rest..
- It's all in the palm of your hand! The future is now in Japan, where the installation of palm reading ATMs is about to be the norm
- Yet again Mt. Etna is spewing volcanic ash and lava.. watch this one
- Earthquakes continue to rattle the ring of fire.. another smaller quake in Mexico today
- And one more time, this is very important to people in the Midwest: A tornado event is likely. Mass breakouts of big storms coming. Prepare now so you're not caught off guard tonight and tomorrow
Stay tuned for more.

All that shaking.. rattling.. and rolling
Ohio saw several mini earthquakes that some have tied to natural gas drilling. Other areas in the United States has also seen shaking where blasting has taken place. Some even attribute last year's big Mid-Atlantic quake that was felt all the way to Canada on some type of explosives in the ground or drilling.
And now this: US government scientists are now stating that "almost certainly" the recent uptick in United States earthquakes can be blamed on one source: Fracking. Just another albatross tied around the neck of the controversial method of extracting natural gas from the ground.
USGS researchers report that midsection seismic activity averaged about 20 a year until the year 2000. In 2011, there were 134 instances of shaking..
The quakes are "fairly small," as they report. But they are numerous. And when they strike the area not used to seeing them, they are quite alarming. Last year's East Coast rattle unnerved millions of people, caused the National Monument to crack, and forced evacuations of almost all government buildings, both state and federal, across the affected region of the United States. It was a big deal--without life or much limb being hurt.. but a big deal nonetheless.
And now all of this because of fracking? Does it make you wonder what other dangers lurk in our near future? if fracking can do this.. what are we doing to the actual inside of the earth..?
Could this be why Kiev has groaned? Why Clintonville WI moaned? Why the earth's trumpets are blazing with hornlike sounds all over the planet? I don't know. No one does. But the USGS experts are at least a little closer to telling us why so many earthquakes seem to be taking place all over the world..

Russia's asteroid problem
Ever notice how concerned Russia has been about finding asteroids and tracking them? This interesting article hints at why: The near misses that Russia has seen.
But WorldCrunch's story also points out it won't get better unless Russia is able to build better telescopes.

This could be a very big deal for the Midwest
Today and this weekend, the potential exists for violent thunderstorms and equally violent tornadoes.. Mike Smith's weather blog *which you should follow* has more on the potential for storms in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas.. Oklahoma City, Topeka, and Wichita seem to be in the focal point of the real bad stuff..
Frighteningly this appears to be primarily a night time event--more concerning being that people could be sleeping when tornado sirens start to ring...
Texas just saw waist deep hail. And after this year's tornado activity that already swept away towns across the nation this year, this situation tonight and tomorrow should be taken very seriously. Prepare now and don't be caught off guard.
When a tornado is near: Don't be near windows, try getting to the lowest portion of your home that is protected by concrete walls, a basement is potentially the safest place during a big storm.
Let's hope this passes without much fanfare. But the elements sadly look positive to create a ripe environment for deadly weather..

Is this the quickening?
This Earth seems to be going through an incredible planetary belch over the past several hours..
We have 8+ earthquakes hitting in Indonesia.
We saw a tremendous amount of movement after this earthshaking took place.. a quake in Oregon, Mexico, California.. even in the East about 200 miles or so off the coast of Maryland. Skeptics who argue that quakes are not connected may have even been shocked by just how many earthquakes took place after the big rumble seemed to begin the tidal wave of shaking...
Coming later this week: Tornadoes may yet hit parts of the Midwest.
Mainstream media didn't pay much attention to really of of this, too. Did you notice that?
All the while it appears that we are seeing an uptick in earth changes, disasters.. and a quickening. A true quickening. Everything seemingly is out of whack. The earth is moving ... plates are shifting.. The crust is unstable.
Not trying to cause fear.. not trying to cause anxiety. Though after the day we have seen with so many rumbles and severe weather in just one day across the planet, how can one not have some type of anxiety. Be ready.. have a plan. Pray for the best. Hope for the worst. And take a St. John's Wort. Things may get bumpier as we go forward. I just hope there is a God who truly does have this planet in his protective net....

A massive public relations gamble for North Korea's new leader Kim..
Now what?
World condemnation in front of cameras. And secret behind the scenes laughter.

All the trouble in the world: Korean Peninsula edition
Planes diverted to avoid North Korean rocket launch
And there is more..
And as far as the threat from new leader Kim in the North, what is the real truth on the rocket launch possibility? Experts seem to agree that it is not being launched for what North Korea claims it will be, a pure satellite to monitor forests and weather patterns. ..
The final newsworthy article about North Korea floating across newswires and the internet tonight is this: You thought the Soviet gulags were bad? You maybe didn't see this article on North Korean camps in which 150,000 simply languish in prison camps. Entire families suffer and die in these prison camps, according to the UN report.. also in the prison: Children and grandparents for 'political crimes' of their family members.
The AP reports this on the camps:
Did you ever get that pit of your stomach feeling where you know the world is truly mad? I have it now...The labor colonies are enclosed behind barbed wire and electrified fences, mainly in the north and north central mountains of the country, the report says, alleging high rates of death in detention due to systemic mistreatment, torture, execution and malnutrition. The report says former prisoners were able to identify their former barrack and houses, work sites, execution grounds and other landmarks in the camps via imagery available through Google Earth. The committee says the report's findings contradict a December 2009 statement by North Korea to the United Nations Human Rights Council that the political prisoner camps don't exist

We all glow down here: Study shows just how much radiation has covered the world since Fukushima
This photo has been making the rounds on Facebook and other social networking sites over the past several weeks.. We'd be remiss not to address it on Earth Informer.
The image is a model of that appeared in the Journal of Environmental Radioactivity *something you don't find on many newstands* shows just how vast and widespread the radiation after the Fukushima disaster has been. The world covered with red and blue.. Shades of red indicate particles at the bottom layer, blue is the upper layer. And all the world is a sea of those two hazy shades of radiation.
More here on the science behind it.
And if you're interested in reading more real research, here is the Journal of Environmental Radioactivity.

Another day, another autism study
Autism rates are high. So are obesity rates. And tonight, a study that somehow tries to link both together is getting a lot of press and air time.. More on that study here if you wish to grin and bear it..
The basic gist, if you couldn't get the relation, is that moms are really obese before they get pregnant.. and then after ...jeeezsh.. that recommended weight gain puts them in a tip the scales category. Of course, no matter those skinny moms and dads in skinny jeans that ended up with an autistic baby.. Indeed, indeed..
So tonight, if you're a big fat pregnant woman who lives near a freeway and has a husband and father-to-be who is over the age of 35 and works with computers, your child may be autistic. But the vaccine won't do it. No worry.
It's certainly interesting. All these years and we still can't truly pinpoint what cases Alzheimer's or autism. All the brain power going towards finding the causes.. all that brainpower lost on the mysteries of the brain.
More than $1billion has been spent over the past decade to try to find out the reason that children have autism. Hopefully the $1billion will pay off over the next decade.
Until then lose weight, move into the country, and quit the computer job. And get younger, too.
