A week until black Friday.. and already protests are mounting over big box stores' plans to have shoppers in their stores even earlier: TARGET faces anger over plans to be open Thanksgiving day.. And at WALMART across the nation, increasingly chances that a walkout may occur..








Seismic monitoring systems around Bayou Corne, Lousiana, very busy with activity.. As a matter of fact, the ongoing saga of the Assumption Parish sinkhole and bubbling in the bayou continue as more safety precautions have been ordered around the sinkhole.. The fear now as the sinkhole has reached the size of seven football fields and some are worried of a methane explosion..

The strange tale of the Petraeus and Allen scandal continues to unfold.. the latest as we know it: There were thousands of emails sent .. An FBI agent is implicated because as he investigated he decided to send shirtless photos of himself to a woman at the center of the case.. High influence used perhaps? Reports indicate that Generals Petraeus and Allen got involved with a nasty child custody case.. .. Who is Jill Kelley? She is a woman at the center of intrigue and what we know so far is that she is a socialite.... Another issue at stake: Online privacy. Is there even a such thing?? .. And if that wasn't all just plain weird enough, get this: Paula Broadwell's license was found in DC's Rock Creek park, and no one is quite sure why (*The same park where Vince Foster was found dead and the bones of Chandra Levy were found).. At this point lawyers for Broadwell are not revealing where she is at. Her website was taken down.. and the mystery remains about her license found..

The troubling post-Sandy landscape along the East Coast

Reports indicate that parts of New York City are descending into chaos in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.. And now these reports of looting and crimes are coupled with the already-known stories of people feeling trapped in shelters that were aimed at protecting them in the aftermath of the superstorm.. This article details "CAMP FEMA" and how people feel like it's more a concentration camp than a shelter..

These are very troubling articles.

With reports that for at least 300,000, power may not come on until Thanksgiving, these are very desperate times.

One more thing to note concerning Thanksgiving and the East Coast. Long range weather forecasts actually are beginning to pick up on the potential for ANOTHER Nor'Easter right around Thanksgiving timeframe. With what has happened so fast in the area and the fact some will not have power until that point, any storm right now is not good to see. Here's hoping it falls off the map and we have beautiful sunny skies with lots to be thankful for.

Tourists take a swim in Venice.  Trouble is, where they are at is typically and filled with tourists.. The situation in Venice is troubling. 70% of the city is under water. High tides and heavy rain caused the massive flooding. Tourists are wearing highwaters instead of shorts. But the idea of people swimming in the water just for a photo op? I read this story but will ignore it. I’d rather believe that the President ages faster than me. It just makes me feel better. And younger. Until I see my own grays in the mirror piling up, that is..
