HEAT.. STORMS.. RECORDS BROKEN... THIS ISN'T NORMAL FOLKS. NOT NORMAL AT ALL. BUT WHAT IT IS? WE DON'T QUITE YET KNOW

It just feels like something is wrong, very wrong. Perhaps the heat made me feel that way? Could it be that 100+ degree heat indexes persuaded me to think that something has gone awry?

I sometimes wait for the 'other shoe to drop' not knowing if there is a shoe or a drop coming.

In the final analysis, it's a choice between this: Either I am overly negative or negative with purpose. There will be another shoe or simply socks, socks soaked in sweat from a heat wave that broke 4,000 + records..

The New York TIMES published a story on July 6 worth reading.. The dronezone hot zone that the United States is fast becoming is complicated with lots of potential future issues, controversies, UFO reports, crashes, and crime watchers along with civil libertarian outcries and invasions of privacy. Of course the drone industry has their own rules for engagement.. but will others who control the drones have equally powerful rules for disengagement? 

The TIMES has a big revelation in the story as well. The money quote on the Air Force training sessions and how exactly drone pilots are being prepped (bold and italics to the important part): 

Holloman sits on almost 60,000 acres of desert badlands, near jagged hills that are frosted with snow for several months of the year — a perfect training ground for pilots who will fly Predators and Reapers over the similarly hostile terrain of Afghanistan. When I visited the base earlier this year with a small group of reporters, we were taken into a command post where a large flat-screen television was broadcasting a video feed from a drone flying overhead. It took a few seconds to figure out exactly what we were looking at. A white S.U.V. traveling along a highway adjacent to the base came into the cross hairs in the center of the screen and was tracked as it headed south along the desert road. When the S.U.V. drove out of the picture, the drone began following another car.

“Wait, you guys practice tracking enemies by using civilian cars?” a reporter asked. One Air Force officer responded that this was only a training mission, and then the group was quickly hustled out of the room.

The massive X class solar flare that came off the sun late yesterday also hurled a coronal mass ejection into space.. A movie of that event here from Spaceweather..

Friday morning radar: Blinded by heat and concerned about malware

The temperature outside of Earth Informer base is relatively nice. It was about 65 at sunrise with a nice summer feel to the air. But by tomorrow, when the mercury soars past 101, it will feel like hell on earth .. a slow roast of human begins. Be safe to all who are dealing with it, be careful to all who are in it.. be well to those who have been dealing with it without the conveniences of power and air conditioning. 

In the meantime, here are the newsworthy notes and other Earthly occurrences on the radar this morning.  Know your surroundings:

• Sunspot 1515 continues to crack and pop, more M class flares erupted Thursday.. A new sunspot is now coming into better focus, 1519. X class flares still possible with 1515..
• New report on MSNBC that the government is reading emails without warrants.  But it doesn't really want to talk about it.
• A lifeguard was fired after leaving his area to save a life--and the got fired for it. After a big outcry and news all over, he was offered the job back. He said no.
• China moving into the 20th century: It lifts its ban on lesbians giving blood.
• The 'smartest man' in Europe speaks.. and all he can talk about is catastrophe. He says Western life is going downhill fast and politicians are trying to best to stave off a truly horrible economic event.
• The global food supply has an enemy: Drought
• America still on fire: Lots of wildfires are burning across the United States, especially the West. (MAP)
• Excessive heat will continue.
• Jehovah Witnesses continue to grow in ranks
• And Malware may knock you off of the internet next Monday. Tens of thousands of Americans may lose connections, but you can check if you will still have access here.

Britain's Atlantis: Doggerland

An amazing series of discoveries continue around the world.. submerged lands and long gone worlds of the past. The most recent news of a forgotten land sunken under the water comes from Britain, where researchers say they have found their own version of Atlantis. 

Scientists believe that the now being found relics of the past showcase a land that was vibrant; divers are finding evidence of traces of ancient people to, which are believed to have vanished with a huge tsunami wave around 8500 years ago.

This land is being described as the 'great heartland' of Britain, and having a population of tens of thousands.

'Britain's Atlantis' - a hidden underwater world swallowed by the North Sea - has been discovered by divers working with science teams from the University of St Andrews.

Doggerland, a huge area of dry land that stretched from Scotland to Denmark was slowly submerged by water between 18,000 BC and 5,500 BC.

Divers from oil companies have found remains of a 'drowned world' with a population of tens of thousands - which might once have been the 'real heartland' of Europe.

A team of climatologists, archaeologists and geophysicists has now mapped the area using new data from oil companies - and revealed the full extent of a 'lost land' once roamed by mammoths

CBS news reports that divers have unearthed harpoons and flint tools; there are suspected burial sites being looked into now..

The history of Doggerland has been interesting. There were rumors of its existence but in 1931 a commercial ship dragged up barbed antler points that dated to the time when the area was a tundra. Subsequent findings included animal remains and prehistoric tools. 

Sea levels rose after an ice age. Doggerland become submerged... parts of it that remained an island supposedly were gone after more flooding from a tsunami..

The landscape that once stretched from Scotland to Denmark and down  the English Channel holds lots of potential scientific findings.. but what Doggerland also promises to do is begin another new new new new new chapter of human history.. We are older than we think but younger than we understand. We are new to the planet.. but some ancestors of the human race clearly didn't survive to hand down anything.

First strange rumblings across San Diego and now this: The Fourth of July Big Bay boom has thousands of spectators waiting for a long fireworks show, but a glitch caused the explosives to go all at once.. It took about 15 seconds for the full show to occur..

There is no relief in sight to the heat. Weather forecasters are searching models for any sign of relief.. all they seem to come up with is a continuing pattern of a high pressure ridging the jet stream north into Canada, leaving the United States to bake through the foreseeable future in heat and triple digit temperatures. The last thing people without power would like to hear is that the weather we are currently experiencing will continue..

It is a hot morning commute across the MidAtlantic--actually one of chaos.  One Maryland official said if you're driving throughout the region, make sure you plan knowing you will need lots of time to get to your sweltering destination..

There is no relief in sight to the heat. Weather forecasters are searching models for any sign of relief.. all they seem to come up with is a continuing pattern of a high pressure ridging the jet stream north into Canada, leaving the United States to bake through the foreseeable future in heat and triple digit temperatures. The last thing people without power would like to hear is that the weather we are currently experiencing will continue..

Assumption Parish in Louisiana worried: The Bayou

Mysterious bubbling is occurring in Assumption Parish in Louisiana .. the bubbles are rising up out of Assumption Bayou. CBS WAFB in Louisiana has more..

A leaking pipeline?

Nothing ruled out yet.

But people in Assumption Parish tell WAFB that they are worried, one man said that houses have been moving and cracks in sheet rock are forming.

No evacuations orders issued. But officials are monitoring the bubbling twice a day..

 

Officials are going to perform a pressure test to see whether an underwater pipeline may be the source of the bubbling.

Residents reported strange tremors around June 8 and still this week. According to a report in THE ADVOCATE, there is still no official word on whether earth shifting and movements have caused the bubbling of the bayou..

A truly dangerous situation developing across the nation of heat

Lives are in danger and the heat is excessive. In 20 states today an excessive heat warning is active while million remain without power due to wild storms in the past 48 hours..

The historic heat and lack of power have prompted officials to tell many, especially the elderly and those who have trouble breathing in normal weather, to seek shelter immediately. 

Much of the Southeast continues to bake in 100+ temperatures. From Chicago to D.C. 90s an 100s dominate the landscape.. 

Cities are opening shelters and cooling centers. In Ohio, Governor John Kasich is dealing with power outages after raging storms swept the state--Kasich has deployed the National Guard to help with the state's more vulnerable and unhealthy. 

But while the heat continues to swelter the sweaty, this is the bad news on the power outage front: If you power is currently out the chances are it may be out for days--this as the heat continues with little relief in the near future. Millions of people are lacking electric from Indiana to Maryland

According to the Washington POST in hot Sunday editions, D.C. was 80 degrees early in the morning with 100+ expected--all the while many roads are impassible and hundreds of thousands will be without air conditioning and in the dark..

The chaos doesn't end there but seems to just begin: Gas stations are running dry in some spots, newest numbers in the post 'land hurricane' landscape have 13 being dead from the dramatic storms, and now in the D.C. area, cell phone service seems to be crashing.. ..

History may view this summer as the beginning of true earth changes.. a quickening of things, with extremes just becoming the norm.

Notice lately how records break, but not just by a bit but by a lot? Notice how weather forecasters can't seem to get it all right at all..? Notice how things are so out of the ordinary that you cannot even keep yourself grounded.

Cherry blossoms bloom in winter. Kansas is 118 in summer. And in Colorado wildfires burn without kindness and thousands of people are homeless and many of their homes are simply gone. 

We are only mid way through this year and a mighty more wild events most likely will occur. It's just becoming all too strange, too horrible... and no normal.

Canary Island quake/ Baja shakes

There have been several small quakes rattling Baja since a larger 4.1 yesterday.. 
And at the same time, the Canary Islands have been shaking again.. a 4.2 earthquake hit this morning.

Hmm... Military says sorry for causing rumble in San Diego

People were abuzz about the strange noise that was heard all throughout San Diego.. it appears that it's solved now, though...

The Navy said sorry on its Facebook page for causing the sonic boom across the city of San Diego.
The official statement:

San Diego, it looks like the boom that was heard and felt today was likely due to some aircraft associated with the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) family day cruise. As part of a flight demonstration two F/A-18 aircraft went supersonic about 35 miles off the coast. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. -- LT Aaron Kakiel, media officer

Facebook users who commented on the post thanked the Navy for the boom and asked for more, some wanting their windows to rattle and booms to be heard daily, as they are the 'sound of freedom.'

But the sounds of moans and groans continue, even if the San Diego noise is explained away by military officials..

No one in Kiev, Michigan, or other locations that have heard the ground moan from under their feet have welcomed the noises with open arms..
