Intrigue over constant Arkansas quakes: Does it portend a larger shake coming or is gas fracking the culprit?

For months, earthquakes have rattled the state of Arkansas. The swarm has now produced 1,000 earthquakes since September 2010 through July 2011--and even more since.

The quakes have been centered between Guy and Greenbrier. It has become so concerning to officials that the Arkansas Oil & Gas Commission ordered four gas wells to be shut down. Geologists blamed hydraulic fracturing for the tremors in the area. But now, ten miles north of Guy, shaking is continuing..

According to a report in the Arkansas Democrat GAZETTE, some worry now that tension is building beneath the surface of the earth in the state. Scott Ausbrooks, geohazards supervisor for the Arkansas Geological Survey, said that the situation 'bears watching.' He told the DEMOCRAT GAZETTE, "I'm not saying that's what it is. I don't want to scare people and I don't want to say it's going to happen. It's just something we're looking at."

The Arkansas paper goes on to report:
The continuing shaking could also be related to ongoing drilling activity about 8 miles outside of Quitman, Ausbrooks said, though he noted that's a significant distance. Or it might be tied somehow to the plugging of one of those four shuttered wells.
Ausbrooks said he couldn't preliminarily pinpoint how the plugging of a well would induce quakes, but the shaking in Quitman started just days after the northernmost of the four closed wells was plugged.
"Right now, we'll just say it's a coincidence," he said.
Gas extraction the key?
The blame?
The culprit?
Or is there something larger taking place? Something more concerning..

Friday into Saturday have brought six more earthquakes in the area.

The rattled nerves Arkansas towns rattled by earthquakes will not enjoy any form of solace in the thought that 'it's a coincidence.' But at least it's a hope. A hope that nothing larger is forming under the feet of the tiny towns that have been shaken now for years.

    The world is pooped out

    Literally..

As the population of the planet gets ready to top 7 billion by Halloween, and maybe 10 billion some time in the near future, the feces will hit the fan. The problem of human waste is already an issue of health and safety, but the prospect of more passed movements on the planet earth comes with an additional weighty conundrum. What to do with all the excrement?

Toilets and even outhouses aren't everywhere. Doing business in a bush is still a popular way to leave out waste. In the end, hygiene education will be the key to survival. It's either learning to move the right way or moving away from the movements.

That or just hope flies work in overdrive.

NYPD keeping list of Muslims who change names

For generations, people from other nations emigrating to United States have changed their names to make them sound more American.. But in NYC, the police are tracking Muslims who do just that.

Recent news has broken of the CIA and FBI working closely with NYPD officials on the monitoring and tracking of citizens.. Like other NYPD intelligence programs created in the past decade, this new one of keeping a listing of Muslims who change names involved monitoring behavior protected by the First Amendment...

The most recent news was published by the Associated Press. The AP report says this other piece of information in its runs of the story:
'Early on, police added people with American names to the list so that if details of the program ever leaked out, the department would not be accused of profiling, according to one person briefed on the program'
The new AP info doesn't leave much of a question on profiling given the circumstances of the allegations.

    The amazing fall light show

An amazing photo by Solomen Parker
It's not typical at all to see Northern Lights traveling as far South as Nevada, Texas, and Arizona.. but on the night of the 24th of October, a big blast off of the sun was able to cause just that: An amazing spectacle. The Northern Lights, a geomagnetic event, all the way in the South.. lands and skies not used to beautiful aurora moments..

The ejection hit Earth's magnetic field on Monday. At 2pm ET the lights began to interract with the sun. At night, the skies lit up with beautiful shades of blue, green, and red, across the United States of America. It was one of the stronger and more intense light shows ever seen in recent memory.

An image on Spaceweather shows the CME that started it all..

The storm is subsiding.. but onlookers should be aware that some light shows may still be seen. Gaze at that sky.. you never know what will slam into Earth.

"Liberated" Libya...with that fun tinge of radical Islam..

Suddenly freedom in Libya after Qaddafi's death. . . oh, and "Islamic Sharia law would be the “basic source” of legislation and existing laws that contradict the teachings of Islam would be nullified".. Good luck with that, formerly free women of Libya!

This news as questions are being raised about Mummar Qaddafi's grisly death in Libya last week..Are the militias that the United States supported, the same who mutilated Qaddafi's body until he was dead, able to lead? be fair? ...we know from their recent comments they know how to strictly enforce Sharia law. But what did the United States and the world get in this new bargain?

An interesting report from Andrew Gilligan details the moments of celebration after the citizens funded by the West killed Qaddafi:
"In Benghazi, on the main square where it all started, they were slaughtering camels in celebration. There they sat, eight of them, feet tied so they could not move, quivering with fear as they were beheaded one by one. As soldiers fired rifles in the air, members of the cheering crowd held up the severed heads as trophies. They daubed their hands in the camel-blood, and gave the V-for-victory sign with dripping fingers. But away from the square, the birthplace of the revolution was not in party mood. The streets were fairly quiet. And in the cafes, people were watching TV pictures – more graphic than any shown in Britain – of a bloodied Gaddafi dragged along and beaten, feebly protesting, before a gun was put to his head. The picture then cut to the dead ex-leader being rolled onto the pavement, blood pooling from the back of his skull."

But minus away the oddity of his tortuous death, Qaddafi's regime was filled with its own bloody torture.. his 42 years of rule were filled with murder and terror. Perhaps that is why, in the end, his death became a strange odyssey.. one filled with blood, guts, gore, and more.

The newest ruler of Libya, interim prime minister, Mahmoud Jibril, said that Qaddafi was killed in a 'crossfire,' while it would seem every piece of video evidence contradicts his statement. Now the country is mired in a new debate about how exactly Mr. Qaddafi's torn up remains should be dealt with..

The new leadership in Libya will be fascinating to watch. The EU and NATO didn't want to address the issue of Sharia law. A NATO official said it the Libyans can now decide on the system in their own country.

    Which they did. Sharia law.
