UFOS over the West

COLORADO: Breckenridge Police say they are investigating reports of three "shiny" objects in the sky Friday morning. "NORAD is not tracking any anomalies in that location. We are investigating," said Army Major Beth Smith, NORAD spokesperson. »

This may not be something for the police, some would argue. But it certainly could be.. if this was some sort of illegal drone activity taking place, then it makes sense for them to take part actively. There is more from the Colorado news report:
Police have called the FAA. The FAA says they have not had any calls from the public regarding the sighting.

Witnesses say the objects would sometimes form triangles or straight lines across the horizon.

9NEWS reporter Matt Renoux said he doesn’t believe the objects were drones or weather balloons, because the objects appeared stationary for as long as 15 minutes at times.

"They would just sit there… without moving an inch on our viewscreen in the camera," Renoux said during a 5 p.m. live report.

After about 15 minutes, a flash of light would appear and the “objects would take off across the mountain ridge,” Renoux said.

A Utah television station reported Thursday about a similar incident happening in the Salt Lake City area.

It does sound quite similar to the Utah cases, which I wrote about earlier after a reader prompted me to look into things more closely.

If you start dreaming of Mother Abigail, all bets are off

UK TELEGRAPH: Ebola 'could become airborne': United Nations warns of 'nightmare scenario' as virus spreads to the US .. MORE: Anthony Banbury, chief of the UN's Ebola mission, says there is a chance the deadly virus could mutate to become infectious through the air »

This is the big fear of mine, and has been so.

Lets take a trip…back in time.

The year was 2012. There was research in Canada on Ebola.. the story goes like this, according to a HEALTHMAP.COM article posted at the time:
When news broke that the Ebola virus had resurfaced in Uganda, investigators in Canada were making headlines of their own with research indicating the deadly virus may spread between species, through the air.

The team, comprised of researchers from the National Centre for Foreign Animal Disease, the University of Manitoba, and the Public Health Agency of Canada, observed transmission of Ebola from pigs to monkeys. They first inoculated a number of piglets with the Zaire strain of the Ebola virus. Ebola-Zaire is the deadliest strain, with mortality rates up to 90 percent. The piglets were then placed in a room with four cynomolgus macaques, a species of monkey commonly used in laboratories. The animals were separated by wire cages to prevent direct contact between the species.

Within a few days, the inoculated piglets showed clinical signs of infection indicative of Ebola infection. In pigs, Ebola generally causes respiratory illness and increased temperature. Nine days after infection, all piglets appeared to have recovered from the disease.

Within eight days of exposure, two of the four monkeys showed signs of Ebola infection. Four days later, the remaining two monkeys were sick too. It is possible that the first two monkeys infected the other two, but transmission between non-human primates has never before been observed in a lab setting.

The candidate to blame for the airborne transmission: They concluded that, maybe, it was one of these three: airborne, droplet, or fomites..

What worries me the most though is this: Mutation. Ebola mutates quickly.. It was one of the meanest, cruelest, and worst nightmares for humanity. It liquefies the body, including the bones. In the past, the only way to contain the disease was to let it burn itself out in villages. Even back August of 2014, NPR and others reported on the problem containing the current outbreak being the quick mutation. Another issue is how much faster Ebola mutates in humans rather than animals..

And all that coupled together: Airborne is scary. Very scary.

If things don’t pan out in a positive way for mankind, the STAND may turn out to be true, even though my readers are most likely tired of my endless comparisons.

The question will be is this: Is anyone having dreams of Mother Abigail yet? Because the rats indeed are in the cornfield..

I think I'd watch this

Looks like it would be fun.

Though I think we are getting over saturated with fake parodies of movie trailers..

But the part I cannot seem to understand: TOY STORY is such a great flick for kids.. and adults have perverted the name of Woody with toys like this.

For God sakes, leave Woody alone! Is nothing sacred!?

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS OUT: HIGH HOPES FOR HORROR FLICK 'ANNABELLE' AS MOVIE OPENS

$40 MIL?

OR $30..

There are high hopes for horror.. the winds of fear are bringing in October tonight as the movie ANNABELLE finally gets its long awaited premiere.. Those I have spoken to tonight say theaters are crowded and people are screaming. Some are laughing.. others are decrying how 'bad' the movie was. All of those opinions are being Facebooked and Tweeted, Tumbled and Instagrammed.

But messages are mixed.
ANNABELLE's late night debut last night only brought in $2.1 mil--lower than the CONJURING's $3.31 mil.. It's also lower than the second installment of the PURGE film.. Good news for ANNABELLE, those other movies were released in the summer.

Time will tell.. By Sunday we will know if horror is alive and well at the box office or if this slump is permanent.

If I had to go out on a limb right now, I'd predict $36 mil based off of all of the information I have currently.

We shall see..

Good luck Annabelle.

A kind of hush

Autumn winds are blowing.. Cold is growing. Heat will vanish. Spring now becomes a fleeting wish.

ALERT: A patient with Ebola-like symptoms is being treated at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., a hospital spokesperson confirmed late Friday morning! The patient had traveled to Nigeria recently.

This is obviously a developing story.. And with it comes more fear..

In the nation's capitol: We anxiously wait to see if the patient being tested for Ebola actually has it..

DEVELOPING..

YOUR TURN: ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT EBOLA?

This poll was offered up before.. I am re-opening the poll again to see if your opinion has changed a bit since the first time I posted it two months ago. Since that time, Ebola has jumped the ocean and now patient zero vomited all over the grounds of the United States.  His family is quarantined, and at least 100 or so people are being monitored closely for any sign of Ebola.. So .. tell me now, are you worried about this?

[sh_poll poll_id="4436891"]

WE LEFT CAMPION OFF THE ARMY BASE AND NOW WE HAVE A PROBLEM IN ARNETT.. SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIND STU REDMAN..

Real news has become surreal.. I find many headlines of our current day to relate back to THE STAND.. I know the comparison is a little fuzzy, and my overdoing it may be annoying to some. But when the strange similarities to me are striking.. The STAND starts in Texas. And in real life Texas is the center stage for the Ebola scare. And even worse, the endless stories of people 'coming back to life' are getting bizarre--though we can assume that parts of Africa cannot truly pinpoint the cause of death, so somene coming back to life is moot: The person probably wasn't dead. At least we hope they weren't.. Though SNOPES can tell us it's a hoax, try to explain the high strangeness of ABC NEWS filming a dead man and suddenly seeing him moving..

Continuing to the real news of the day (though it seems like fiction half of the time), focus is now turning on how Thomas Duncan got inot the United States. The Washington POST is giving us an hour by hour synopsis of what happened. In their best ability.. The family of Duncan is now confined to their home.. Extra precautions, right? That seems fine until you see images of people nonchalantly washing Duncan's vomit from the street with power washers. Unprotected, I may add.. We also know that Duncan may be prosecuted by Liberia.. there are allegations that he lied to gain entry into the United States again, knowing that he handled Ebola patients by bringing them to a hospital in a wheel barrel but not telling anyone before he got onto a plane.. And when back home, his life touched many others. Many that are being monitored right now.. Even his apartment building has still to be sanitized, with the same sheets still being there..
Meanwhile, NBC has been infected and affected: A cameraman for the news network now has Ebola.. That news, along with this: The rest of the NBC crew is in quarantine..

Another tidbit of scary information, reported by REUTERS: People who contract Ebola in West Africa can get through airport screenings and onto a plane with a lie and a lot of ibuprofen, according to healthcare experts who believe more must be done to identify infected travelers

In all of this nightmare news, we rely on the CDC and others in government to give us true and accurate information. (Again, we need to re-read or re-watch the STAND for my take on that, I agree with how Stephen King envisions such events would take place) .. the CDC is filled with experts. Experts, that at least one doctor believes, are lying. Yesterday, Dr. Gil Mobley checked in and cleared airport security wearing a mask, goggles, gloves, boots and a hooded white jumpsuit emblazoned on the back with the words, “CDC is lying!”..

The United States and the CDC, they say, are "certain" they can stop Ebola in the United States. In the STAND, the military had a similar line about Captain Tripps..

[wp_ad_camp_2]
Yes, these are the events of the weird by real..

There are other events of strange nature occurring across the planet and beyond..
Events that are scary, too.. The entire state of California is in a drought. Taps are dry. Toilets cannot flush. Things are becoming desperate.. Some have not had running water for months.. Satellites are showing a shocking loss of ground water in the state.. That image can be seen here: COMPARISON FROM 2002 THROUGH 2014

There have been a lot of Secret Services lapses, and seemingly dangerous threats to the President, as we have reported .. but there's another new one, just days ago! An unidentified man posing as a member of Congress made it into a secure area backstage at President Barack Obama’s appearance at a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation awards dinner in Washington Sept. 27.. This after fence jumpers, car attacks, a man running through the President's living quarters with a knife, and a convict with a loaded weapon in an elevator with the President. I am becoming more convinced that these events are being permitted to happen..

The season of the witch upon us, every year the same thing happens: Religious websites compel parents to keep kids home. CRISIS MAGAZINE this year writes: "The demons, however, know what they are doing. Fearlessness and love have become fear and lust leaving Halloween as a sickening and shocking affair of innocents pantomiming as succubi and serial killers: an adult carnival of death and sex for kids that is practically impossible to shut out, and therefore in absolute need of active restoration." While I scoff at some of the more prudish attitudes about Halloween, I will say this: As I age I begin to see some of the problems with how retailers design sexually explicit costumes for children. I often wonder about the grown adult who thinks about a 5-year-old in a sexually suggestive outfit..

The media is has begun a campaign to slam the rich and famous over their decisions not to vaccinate their children.. CNN is the latest to jump on this, after Hollywood Reporters and TIME magazine in the last few weeks. But do these rich and famous know something others don't? ...

A United States marine has become the first casualty in the war with ISIS..or ISIL.. or IS.. or whoever. A US Marine who ejected from an airplane over the Persian Gulf is “presumed lost at sea,” ... Ospreys have been moving Marines into Iraq... The search for the Marine has been called off.. presumption of death..

US Added 248000 Jobs in September; Unemployment Falls to 5.9%.. That's great news. Though most people who you talk to still say their economic conditions have never recovered. Unfortunately for those who want to use this October surprise to benefit them in an election in four weeks, Ebola news is taking center stage over it..

Mystery fireball lights up the skies over Utah.. These events are becoming way too frequent..

HORROR hits the box office.. will ANNABELLE be enough to save the genre in '14? The state of the box office is awful.. all movies have taken a hit, but horror is not immune. Most of anything news this year has flopped. There are big expectations for the premiere to the CONJURING. ANNABELLE has scared up some good press with frightening trailers and viral marketing.. But reviews are in. Do they match the excitement?
One paper calls the movie 'too dumb' to be scary..
Another says the movie 'merely toys' with genuine horror..
VARIETY: Leonetti manages to deliver the jolts, and if audiences are sure to head home complaining about how dumb and predictable it all was

But there is a bigger picture in play for movies in general.. How will we watch movies in the future? Will sheltered theaters get the same treatment as drive ins? Will we say goodbye the current state of how we view films? Yes. Proof is in this story: Adam Sandler is teaming with NETFLIX to deliver viewers exclusive content. That is how it will be done.. the future will be streamed.. Music will, too. U2 is working with Apple on delivering users content--people don't want to own things in their hands anymore, they're all quite fine with having it just be streamed when they want it.. Radio is the same: Most radio hosts have their own apps, or their shows are listened to on iHeartRadio. Terrestrial radio will go away, as well..

Death of a clown

EBOLARAMA DRAMA

Two days after he was sent home from a Dallas hospital, the man who is the first person to be diagnosed with Ebola in the United States was seen vomiting on the ground outside an apartment complex as he was bundled into an ambulance »

So far we know this:

  1. There was no screening when he came back from Liberia on a plane to Dallas

  2. He was asked at the hospital if he was in Africa. He said yes. He was released.

  3. He then was around family.. And school children.

  4. He was in an ambulance on his second trip back to the hospital..

And now we find out he tossed his cookies in his apartment complex … Reuters reports this:
"His whole family was screaming. He got outside and he was throwing up all over the place," resident Mesud Osmanovic, 21, said on Wednesday, describing the chaotic scene before the man was admitted to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday where he is in serious condition.

That vomit is now the center stage issue.. who was around it, who cleaned it.. who slipped on it..? Is it still there?

The series of unfortunate events continue.

Apparently no one ever saw the first 20 minutes of THE STAND .. two words: Charles Campion

Rick Perry and his questionable hair told Texans not to panic. And then Dallas parents began to take their children from school in droves »

The STAR TELEGRAM reports:
A letter to parents of children at L.L. Hotchkiss Elementary School,6929 Town North Drive, says in part:

“This morning, we were made aware that one of our students may have had contact with an individual who was recently diagnosed with the Ebola virus. This student is currently not showing any symptoms and is under close observation by the Dallas County Health and Human Services Department. As a precautionary measure, the student has been advised to stay home from school. Since this student is not presenting any symptoms, there is nothing to suggest that the disease was spread to others, including students and staff.”

The words didn’t quell any fears… Instead a panic ensued.

I wrote early this morning that I was going to be interested in the national response to Ebola. I guess this is a response..

31 DAYS OF HORROR MOVIES IN ONE LIST

A complete listing of every horror movie that is airing starting today through Halloween. And a few more on November 1.

I did not come up with the list.. credit must be given where credit is due, and the ATLANTIC was the source for this information.

The listing is epic. (though I am a little sketchy on calling some of these, like JURASSIC PARK, a horror.)

Enjoy.

All times are Eastern.

Roll out the beer guts

Study: Main Ingredient Found In Beer Can Help Improve Memory - CBS Seattle »

I love these types of articles.

Whenever someone says wine is healthy, people go out and drink it by the bottles. Same with beer, when we get a study which ‘proves’ the benefits of beer, guts immediately increase in girth as livers get inflamed with the fatty tissue of alcohol and decay.

Let’s keep this in perspective, as the story goes on to say:

The researchers point out that they gave the mice huge quantities of xanthohumol as dietary supplements and caution people shouldn’t start drinking lots of beer to improve their memories.

“A human would have to drink 2000 liters of beer a day to reach the xanthohumol levels we used in this research,” warned Magnussun.

While I know some people who may be able to ingest 2000 liters of beer a day, this headline is very misleading (As most are.) Beer is not healthy.. does it have some good effects now and then? Yes.. But if you drink on a constant basis every day of your life, your living start to look like Freddy Krueger and you will not live very long. ..

DEATH OF A CLOWN

Floyd V. Creekmore, better known as Creeky the Clown, died last weekend after decades of making people laugh and helping sick children feel better.

Creekmore, of Billings, was 98.

And he was the world’s oldest clown..

THE EBOLA GAME HAS CHANGED. Sort of

How seemingly apropos for Ebola to strike, deep in the heart of Texas, just as the season of the witch begins.. Halloween is a time for fear, costumes, and wild assertions that the veil between the here and there is thinning. In Texas, at a hospital, the veil is quite thin right now..  Undoubtedly protective Halloween costumes of a real sort are being used in connection with the unnamed man who returned home from Liberia. We don’t know what he was doing there, and we don’t know why he went, but we certainly know he was in a hotspot of death and the cruel nature of humanity.. Ebola has ripping parts of Liberia to shreds..

In America, we pride ourselves we rarity when it comes to disease outbreak.. we vaccine our children from the moment they are seconds old.. Some also do their finest to ostracize parents who don’t go down the same adventurous vaccine highway. That’s why when diseases pop up, like the latest respiratory virus and polio-like paralysis hitting kids, we get freaked.

I will be interested to see how we deal with Ebola.

Unless this goes airborne—we should all pray it does not mutate into a monster of that nature—we can control Ebola in the United States. Even Nigeria is able toebolawecandoit end their outbreak, so we can too.. It will take common sense.

Now instead of immigration being front and center on Texas news stations, Ebola has taken over.. Today, a Houston radio station is giving listeners and readers online some safety tips.. everything from washing your hands to ending your practice of eating bush meat. Also avoid traveling to places that have an Ebola outbreak. Also steer clear of the bodily fluids of people who are suffering from the later stages of Ebola.

Let’s be clear: The doctors who returned to the United States with Ebola have now been immersed back into civilization without it. Healing is possible.. The death rate is often higher in countries that have less development.

Last night I heard about a village in Liberia that slaughtered aid workers because, when the workers showed up to inform people how to properly wash hands, the villagers assumed they were from satanic origins and coming with the disease to kill them.

That will not happen in the United States, or developed places in Africa.

It will take some faith in humanity—and luck, luck in the sense that, to repeat an earlier statement, this does not go airborne. If that should happen, the game changes again.

I will be fascinated to see how the public devours the latest news. There is no more talk of “when it happens here.” It did. Even Chris Matthews took an indirect shot at the man who once gave him shivers down his legs by saying  'Obama Said It Was Unlikely. It Has Happened. It's Here'There are things that even the Presidents cannot control. Disease outbreak is one of them.

Will the populace panic?
With the citizens weep?
Will we wash our hands?
What company will we keep?

Will the news cause fear?
Will the events displace?
What else will we hear?
Hope no medical disgrace.

Ebola is on our shores,
It’s been over there before,
The world has gone on,
America’s an open door.

So now we join the world,
In disease and natural scars,
So don’t run and hide,
And least this isn’t SARS.

Happy hand washing, America.

The dawn of a new dead

A friend of mine posted photographs of herself with blood dripping from her mouth and her limbs hanging off.. it's not every day you see such things. After an inquisitive message was sent asking where she was able to masquerade in broad daylight as a brain eating zombie, I found out she was an extra in a film called THE SOULLESS. Luckily, I followed a chain of people and was able to interview the director, Chris Eilenstine, of the film.. I am inspired by what he said.

Let me first step back a bit.. Zombie movies are out of control. They are everywhere.. and they are hungry for viewers. Most zombie flicks I have seen featured the same tired and lackluster acts. The dreadful soundtrack along with the blood curdling noises of the dead slurping up cartilage and brains. That gets tired, quickly..

There have been a few gems in heap of trash, but those are far and few between. One such movie that made me scratch my head by yet appreciate the desire to do something different was PONTYPOOL.

The SOULLESS sounds different. It is inventive, and it does not sound one bit like anything I have seen before.

Chris Eilenstine started making movies when he was 14. He has a long history of productions behind him. The movie THE SOULLESS is in post-production.

According to the information, Eilentine's film is budged at $50,000---a low budget film by any definition. But when you consider the plot, you may want to give it a try.

soullessEilenstine gave the HORROR REPORT the backstory on the film. The movie is the story of David and Nicole Peterson, a father and daughter who have survived a genetic plague that has turned the majority of the  human race into a primitive, animal like race. David and Nicole have a special immunity to these new humans.

Here is where things get different: The main characters are completely ignored by them and can  walk amongst them without fear of being attacked.

Eilenstine  said that he conceived of this idea while reading an article of the mapping of our DNA and that aging is not decay, but  a form of mutation we go through in life.   "I wanted to tell the story of a scientist who rewrites our DNA and sends us back to the beginning. He does this  believing the human race will destroy itself unless he helps it. So he releases a virus and 'reboots' humanity."

The majority of THE SOULLESS was shot in Monmouth County, New Jersey. That's where my friend was able to don her best zombie attire to rampage the streets as an extra.

Eilenstine seems intent on recreating the zombie genre, toying with the concept almost like the scientist who rewrites DNA. Eilenstine said,
This film series is very different than other zombie films. It has gore, but never dwells on it. It is used in the way I believe gore should be used- to horrify, not just shock. But The SOULLESS is very much a human drama about David and Nicole and he will do anything to keep her alive and try to give her a chance at a normal life. It is also a very sci-fi driven storyline, with a horror framework. The 'Zombies' of the story are a surprise, and I do not want to spoil that for anyone. The series is so different in fact that we adopted a tag line for it that goes 'Forget Everything You Know About the Living Dead...THE RULES HAVE CHANGED!'."

Eilenstine joked, "There are no shambling, decomposing corpses digging themselves out the grave and eating brains in this series. The 'zombies' are all sympathetic characters, some are animals, yes- but still human, still deserving of existence."

The rules have changed indeed. The idea of a sympathetic zombie is reminiscent of the mellow and mild mannered Frankenstein that appeared on film decades ago. Are we ready for zombies with (and without) a heart?

Eilenstine is no stranger to horror. It's his favorite genre, along with science fiction. He said that George Romero and Alfred Hitchcock were his inspiration. And it was the movie ALIEN, along with DAWN OF THE DEAD, that moved him enough to make movies himself. He told the HORROR REPORT, "The visual style of Romero's films influenced me greatly. Today I really look forward to learning more about the independent horror market and the people making them. There is a lot of interesting work being done in this genre today."

1013722_10204886015660482_699038867214194339_nBut what scared Chris Eilenstine? Zombies? Slashers? Darkness at midnight hour? No.. not at all. What scares him is what scares me--and what should scare all of us. Eilenstine said, "People who feel that the lives of other people are worthless, and those who believe people who think differently than them deserve to die."

"They are the true monsters," he finished, "they scare the hell out of me."
While low on budget, the SOULLESS appears to be in depth on horror on even more on the big pictures in life. One big picture is death. Eilenstine revealed, "The Soulless does explore these ideas, and in ways that will be fresh and thought provoking for those who view it. It is my sincere hope that when THE SOULLESS becomes a series it will be a show people passionately discuss and think about."

The HORROR REPORT looks forward to thinking about it, and seeing the film. We will certainly pass along any other information as it becomes available.

THE SOULLESS is a trilogy Part One: Z-DAY is scheduled for December 2014 with Part 2: Sanctuary for the late spring and Part 3: Revelations in the late summer, 2015.

The jumper got into the White House

When a quiet Friday night was ruined by a White House fence jumper named Omar Jose Gonzalez, I made the joke on the HORROR REPORT that perhaps someone in the Obama Administration's security team needed to watch  WHITE HOUSE DOWN to see how bad things could get.. Little did I realize how close to a scary accurate that joke was..

I was ch2014-09-23T202152Z_377959200_TM3EA9N195I01_RTRMADP_3_USA-WHITEHOUSE-SECURITYilled tonight to read the latest information regarding Mr. Gonzalez' jump into the White House. Initially we were all calmed down as a nation and told that, even though the President was boarding his helicopter only minutes before, his life was not in danger.. Officials said that the jumper was stopped at the front door of the White House---though they admitted he did step foot into the mansion, he was quickly apprehended.

We were lied to..
Big time.
The real news is much worse..

According to the latest information appearing tonight in an article by Carol Leonnig in the Washington POST, the jumper not only made it into the White House but actually sprinted through the front door, knife in hand..by the First Family's living quarters..

Perhaps you should pause here and understand the consequences.. A knife in hand, Omar Gonzalez barreled past the front door (and whoever guarded it), ran into the 80-foot long East Room. With a knife...

And the best part, as Leonnig reports,
An alarm box near the front entrance of the White House designed to alert guards to an intruder had been muted at what officers believed was a request of the usher’s office, said a Secret Service official who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

While no one has yet to call this an assassination attempt, what else could it be labeled? Call me zany, but.. when an intruder rushes across the South Lawn, all the guards, security boxes, and could have potentially made it where the President, First Lady, and children live and sleep---with a knife---that is an attempt to do something... that is something more than a simple "I wanted to talk to the President" type of insanity.. This is a much worse example of lax security..

....or something else?

I don't want to create conspiracy theory where there is none, but when the initial event happened on September 19, someone who is immersed with theory of all political nature wondered aloud if someone permitted Gonzalez to enter the White House.. perhaps a message being sent to the President? Perhaps someone in the security detail attempting to infiltrate the nation with crisis? I don't know. But I do know this: When I read this information tonight that the intruder not only got onto the lawn without anyone stopping him--including all of those snipers we are told famously wait on top of the White House for just this type of moment--and then got into the place where our President lives... that hit me like a ton of bricks..

Another comment I received tonight on the matter: "Before we know it, we will be told that this guy got into the Oval Office and smoke some of Clinton's cigars still there."

More from the POST:
After barreling past the guard immediately inside the door, Gonzalez, who was carrying a knife, dashed past the stairway leading a half-flight up to the first family’s living quarters. He then ran into the 80-foot-long East Room, an ornate space often used for receptions or presidential addresses.

Gonzalez was tackled by a counterassault agent at the far southern end of the East Room. The intruder reached the doorway to the Green Room, a parlor overlooking the South Lawn with artwork and antique furniture, according to three people familiar with the incident.

We also are being told this tonight by the National REVIEW (hardly a political friend of the President): The Secret Service has permitted 1,000 security breaches. The article claims that these lapses are the result of political correctness...

During a time when we are told of the endless dangers of ISIS--along with their knives--how can the Secret Service not stop an intruder? And one armed with a knife on top of that?  I shudder at the prospects of what would have happened if President Obama and family had been there..

I was shocked when it first happened, and even more shocked when the news broke that the intruder got into the White House. But tonight, with the news of a madman on the loose in the White House brandishing a knife, I was floored.

Quite frankly, there is no excuse for this big of a security lapse.

Without any pun being intended, heads should roll and people who did not do their jobs should be fired immediately. The lives of the First Family cannot be at risk in the hallowed halls of America's house.

Case of the Mondays: The good, the bad, and the three-breasted Halloween costumes

A Monday roundup of the strange, the unusual, the obscene, and the unexplainable, presented in snippets for your brain to quantify..

Dateline England: APPARENT "exorcisms" of children have been taking place in the early hours of the morning on a street corner in South Norwood... Members of the group were heard to say "release your spirit" and "get the demon out" – which has alerted the council and police to monitor what is feared may be an exorcism.
The child stood in the middle of the group appearing not to move while the leader – a woman – repeatedly shouted "in the name of Jesus".

Drugs or demons? Police investigating a woman's death.. she took her clothes off in a liquor store.. when cuffed, she began acting 'like crazy' .. then she died.

We have not heard about the black eyed children in some time.. but apparently they're back. The latest haunt they have decided to roam: A place called Cannock Chase.. And answering the call, a paranormal investigator (who writes books) from London..

Dire situation continues in Japan: The rescue of people trapped by volcano now halted due to toxic gases..

More fear: Economists warn of coming crisis. *Apparently no one told them we haven't exited the one we are still in*

The family of Oklahoma beheading suspect defends him..

A must read editorial from CAMILLE PAGLIA is appearing in TIME.. Among some many important things, she writes: Wildly overblown claims about an epidemic of sexual assaults on American campuses are obscuring the true danger to young women, too often distracted by cellphones or iPods in public places: the ancient sex crime of abduction and murder. Despite hysterical propaganda about our “rape culture,” the majority of campus incidents being carelessly described as sexual assault are not felonious rape (involving force or drugs) but oafish hookup melodramas, arising from mixed signals and imprudence on both sides.

Hot costumes for Halloween..

Some Halloween costumes for women who don't want to be sexy cops.

Three's not a charm.. but chances are you'll be seeing three-breasted women this Halloween..

Ditch all of the typical costumes... this year be an alien-human pilot.. A really cool Halloween costume to scare the kids.

NEW DAWN OF THE DEAD

Dawn of the dead

Things are truly getting bizarre. A few days ago I implored zombie hunters to get their twinkies ready as news broke that two Ebola patients in Africa reportedly rose from the dead..

The steady stream of people coming back to life has not abated. The latest is from Greece.. We’re being told by some of the lamestream media across the pond in the UK that a cancer patient—dead, mind you—began shouting from her casket in her grave.. This is what the LONDON TELEGRAPH reported:

Police said a cemetery worker and two people visitors heard a woman’s voice from inside the 49-year-old cancer patient’s grave on Thursday.

The sounds were reportedly heard by the passers-by shortly after the last relatives of the deceased had left her funeral in the northern town of Peraia.

They are believed to have dug up the grave to try to save her, but by the time they got her out of the ground she had suffocated inside the coffin, according to Greek media.

A doctor summoned to the cemetery pronounced her dead, but dismissed claims that she had revived and had called for help.

Of course a doctor would poo poo the claim that someone rose from the dead .. After all, real zombies don’t exist.

Except this week.
Three.. two with Ebola, one with cancer..

In this case, the ending was sad, times two.. After the family left the gravesite, the woman actually died again.. If she was dead to begin with, of course.

But at this point, there will be no proof to offer anyone that someone rose from the dead.. The story is complicated. Perhaps the first trauma didn’t kill, and a funeral home didn’t notice.. Maybe embalming did not happen. I don’t know. But I do know that the news has been freaky lately..

As to whether or not she rose from the dead? She’s dead now.. So…….

Sunday morning came down

Another Sunday morning coming down..
This week’s version of the Sunday morning sidewalk news and information review comes with Johnny Cash’s version as the soundtrack..

I would love to know how many people consider Sunday the beginning of a week or the end of one? Or perhaps that loose end that somehow ties two together..?

I frankly never considered Sunday a day at all.. At school age, it was just a series of hours that created a monster of nervous stomach pains and headaches as the dreadful witching hour of school on Monday came closer.. As I aged, and work began, I still disliked it. But now in a world where we are constantly connected, and at times weekends don’t feel like time off anymore, it just has morphed into a dull set of moments. However, as a parent, I see my own child thinking about Monday morning day care.. and the cycle begins all over again.

Speaking of cycles, the 24 hours news cycle has left some entrails along the information superhighway for all of us to enjoy and read. So read at your own peril.. make sure you listen to the Cash sing about the magic Sunday as you traverse the news.

More news coming from the volcano in Japan that suddenly erupted.. Ash rained down on climbers.. some met their fate.. others thought they would but lived.. The volcano has yet to cause any disruptions to air traffic..

More than 12,000 people have been forcibly evacuated in the Philippines as seismologists raise alert over the potential eruption..

Earth shaking news from California as the Mammoth earthquake swarm happening now is the largest in a decade.. More than 600 in less than 36 hours. The magnitude ranged from 1.0 to 3.8..

Two American citizens beaten and tortured to death by Mexican Cartel..

We did not hear much about Fukushima on news as of late.. a big part of me knows that’s on purpose.. But just before your mind idles away from the story, here’s some new information: A worker from Fukushima said “All sorts of troubles going on in plant” and employees wear disguises over fear of retaliation..

I have implored people to follow Seph Lawless, an amazing photographer who sets out across the nation to photograph abandoned places.. This morning, Lawless said that he is working with the makers of BATMAN VS SUPERMAN to find some good locations that are abandoned to film scenes for that movie. I am sure any one of us could figure out a place in our own town to share with him.. the nation’s abandoned infrastructure is sad.. But it certainly makes for good filming locations for movies like that..

Some local news from my own state, my own county.. In Shenandoah PA, there were three fires last night with reports that a fourth was also started.. along with that, rumors in nearby towns that a firebug was being sought by police.. If it was a firebug, hope is they get him or her fast.. Also some more news from Pennsylvania.. the massive search for Eric Frein continues.. Police activity picked up Saturday night in the Poconos but there has yet to be any real clear evidence that cops are on a hot trail. Police searched an abandoned hotel for him.. Also there is a report that Frein tried to call his parents. I frankly still believe the bear ate him possibility exists.. according to PPL Electric, the provider of electricty in Price Township, at least 80 people lost power at 7pm Saturday night.. Police activity picked up immediately.. Power was restored a few hours later. While it may have nothing at all to do with Frein, and simply an act of nature as a tree fell on a line, you could imagine how it would create an air of tension of fear as the skilled assassin is on the loose as darkness falls over a community..

One more from the Keystone State: No immediate winners in PA politics after the porn email scandal broke in the state’s Capitol this week..

Abuse still goes on: Pope Francis removes Scranton Bishop who promoted abusive priest..

20-year-old Pete Davidson celebrated as the new face of Saturday Night LIVE after season opener last night..
