ZOMBIES INVADE SCRANTON--MOSTLY TO GET DRUNK

I have said it before and unfortunately I am going to say it again: I am quite tired of zombies..

Yes, even me, the HORROR REPORTER, is sick of hearing about them.

If it's not the government issuing fake warnings about zombies instead of talking to citizens as adults it's zombie conferences--much like the one now taking place in Scranton, PA. It's the Lackawanna Historical Society's fourth annual Scranton After Dark Walking Tour, and men and women dressed in zombie attire are roaming the streets of the Electric City.

But the premise is interesting. I'm relatively close. I didn't actually know about this but if I did I may have tried to attend for the fun of it. The tour the Historical Society does is a virtual walking tour of the macabre of the city of Scranton, such as how bodies were stored in basements of businesses during the flu outbreak in the early 20th century, or tales of voices still being heard in some buildings. There were hangings in the town square.  And all that stuff other towns have too, probably.

But why the zombies?

This: The Infect Scranton Zombie Convention. That's right, There is a zombie convention taking place within the boundaries of Scranton. And being a Saturday night in the Northeast of PA, there is also a bar crawl (maybe literally) of people dressed as the dead drinking like they are alive but dying.. 

However, not all are happy that the living dressed as the deceased have entered their city limits. 

The local newspapers in Scranton and Northeast PA, including the TIMES TRIBUNE, is covering the zombiethon. But naysayers are also commenting on stories posted. The comments sections is dicing up the zombie weekend. One comment pointed out that the Riverside High School is sponsoring the INFECT SCRANTON ZOMBIE CONVENTION .. Another comment from someone says this:

What a bunch of puke minded degenerates. If they want to see blood and guts why don't some of them join the service of their country. And if they want to see torn and maimed bodies; let them visit the Veterans hospital.

Perhaps that comment is a little too much.

But what is NOT too much to me is the overabundance of zombies in our pop culture. They have undoubtedly taken over the aliens of the 20th century and the vampires of the early 21st. Zombies are everywhere. There are people even taking so many drugs that they are turning into flesh eating monsters.

And the government, constantly, warns people to be ready for the zombie attacks--they use zombies as the basis for us to get ready for natural disasters, but being it as it is, they just can't be frank enough to tell us disasters are coming and instead rely on fictitious zombies.

But that is that. And people are dressing like the dead tonight in Scranton. Having fun. So let them. But who will clean up the vile zombie bile and drunken vomit in the morning? The city of Scranton, no doubt.

Rumors online intensify: VETERANS TODAY reports that the US and China are in a joint military operation to combat a 'UFO threat'

For several days there have been rumors of Chinese military forces off the United States coastline.. in the Pacific.. Radio hosts like Nibiru-famed John Moore on REPUBLIC BROADCASTING have been talkling about it..

And now Gordon Duff of VETERANS TODAY is reporting on those rumors that Chinese Naval vessels have been off the US coast in the Pacific Ocean .. 

But there is an intergalactic twist in new information: According to Duff's report (which of course is being linked and quoted around the world today) an Asian intelligence agency is reporting that a combined combat operation is taking place with the US and China cooperating. The threat? Here is the copy and paste of the VETERANS TODAY story that may cause your eyebrows to flutter: 

Now an Asian intelligence agency reports that a combined fleet operation between the US and China has been going on, a full combat operation against what we are told is a “highly unfriendly extra-terrestrial threat.”

The verifications of the fleet operations have been many, there have been no confirmations from the US side though the ships have been seen by every vessel that makes it offshore.  The true nature of both the threat and the extent of the multinational military force used is beyond any imaginable classification level.

The story has become so 'viral' that even George Noory read the story last night on COAST TO COAST AM.. 

Has Duff cracked up? Has VETERANS TODAY flipped its lid? Is the wheel coming undone in our society of internet rumors?

Duff continues: 

Our confirmations limit us to this response which I have chosen to represent in a highly deniable form out of personal interest.  Others in the US have better information and sources and have been silenced with warnings only.

As to this being a total “hose job,” I don’t see any advantage in it.

For several months earlier this year, there had been disclosures tied to the UFO issue.  One real sighting had been made over South Korea.

After than, the internet had been flooded, yes, Google’s “YouTube” with manufactured phony UFO videos, some of “beyond next generation” quality.

Duff continues:

All information given on how UFO video or photos are analyzed is totally false, childishly so, especially that from the UFO “networks.”  They are professionally “self discrediting.”

About 6 weeks ago, a “study group” was appointed out of NATO and another one in Asia to look at the pattern of UFO videos.  A decision was made to aggressively investigate one or more groups.

Being aggressively investigated on such an issue is not recommended.

I would love to be more entertaining, invent things, speculate or, perhaps, include some fascinating videos.

I either have to give this a 70% or reclassify a reliable official source as purposefully leaking something that makes no sense.  My suggestion is that readers follow other stories for verifications or information that would help in some way, add it to the comment section and see if we can get a better grip on what may well be an extremely dangerous situation

Mitt Romney panic mode: Finger pointing begins weeks before the election.. A sore loser already?

New election controversy brews after Mitt Romney is secretly recorded disparaging 47% of Americans as people who don't pay taxes or take responsibility for their lives.. Romeny says he will not get their votes. With comments like this, he may not get anyone's vote.. Romney is responding, however, the best he can with the circumstances.. He said his words were not 'elegant'.. Elegant like his life. His wealthy life. Lots of commentators are saying that the Romney campaign is beginning to look a lot like a campaign that Thurston Howell from Gilligan's Island would run. I say, and have said, no: He is just like Max Schreck from BATMAN RETURNS.. I just hope not as crazy..


Keep in mind that in 2008, then candidate Obama made disparaging remarks about Americans who 'cling to God and guns' .. he didn't seem to want their votes either. It's amazing how often candidates running for the highest office in the land really don't want the votes of people that will put them there..

With all of these earthquake swarms and volcanoes coming back alive after decades if not centuries of no activity, could we look back and say we should have known? Since strange noises in Kiev were posted online, most of the world has smelled sulfur, seen fish and animal deaths, and heard odd noises coming from the ground. Quite possibilty the new activity across the planet is a byproduct or a result of the groans from the planet. Maybe something, deep down has occurred and now the crust is simply letting out the steam, so to speak, from the inside movements...? Just a thought.. A very niave and uneducated guess, perhaps. But a thought.

There is an increased use of antidepressants in a depressed Japan.. Could it be the result of just hardcore awful news for the past several months? A nuclear reactor gone wrong and a tsunami that took so many? Perhaps people are just trying to escape. Sadly medication will never, ever, help them.. And on that note of nuclear instability: A pink grasshopper has been found near Fukushima..

Is whooping cough linked to pesticide spraying? One website points to what it calls evidence that it is..

It wasn't nationwide, but in a few select theaters in New York and L.A., RESIDENT EVIL 5 averaged about $145,949 per screen, according to the Weinstein Co.. $21.1 mil later, the film wasn't massive. But the studio is boasting the select records to hype the movie..

Tis the season: This year the box office will be taking people for a horrorfic flashback: Michael Myers will be back in theaters again. No, not in some cheesy sequel or rancid remake, but instead the original HALLOWEEN will be back in select theaters just in time for Halloween 2012.. A video by the always interesting DutchSinse had a video on the plume, too, and researched the area where the plume was: The plume appears to be coming from a volcanic area.

The video will surely make the rounds. And with all of the latest volcanoes around the world, a new one here in the United States certainly would not be unheard of..

Also interesting: It was just last week that Southern California was plagued with a sulfur smell. Officials blamed it on dead fish. Maybe it was something else, as we are seeing on the YouTube videos...?
