What if we never find the plane?

The world is on the edge of its seat.. Rescue workers, military officials, a number of nations, and an airline are all desperate to find any sign of wreckage from flight MH370.

The Boeing 777 was at a normal altitude cruising smoothly when it vanished from radar and lost all contact with the known world.

This is a rare disaster.. While there's precedent for a plane to be missing this long--the Air France flight that crashed in 2009--this one is even weirder. This go around, there's little evidence that anything was wrong, no distress calls, and now a mystery of at least four stolen passports .. Malaysia has now contacted counter terrorism organizations about the passport issue on flight 370.

Aircraft are frantically searching the South China Sea for evidence, wreckage, remains.. anything.

There was a plume of oil. But that's it. Nothing else but the oil was associated with that find--and there's nothing much concrete to say that it had anything to do with the flight crashing..

The area being searched has been widened.  Now officials are looking into a possibility that the plane turned back..

This is one of the world's safest aircraft. And it vanished without a trace..
Earlier today I likened the story to the plot of LOST.. now I changed my tune, thinking more it is like it's stuck in limbo, or in some weird Twilight Zone episode.. Or maybe even like Stephen King's THE LANGOLIERS.. the LANGOLIERS was the tale of a red-eye flight across county that vanished from the real world and entered another realm, where giant creatures were eating time and attempting to eat them since they were lost in the middle of two timelines..

While a varied amount of pop culture or horror references could be made, it may be in bad taste since this is a real event with tragic implications. 227 passengers and 12 crew members have families, friends, and stories.. And suddenly their lives are apparently over with their families having to come to grips with not even knowing where they are..

But .. it's just so freaky.
And the notion of the plane itself never being found? There's no secrets on earth that can last for any extended period of time. It would be assumed that some type of evidence or wreckage will be located.. assumed. Assumptions are plenty today.. as a missing airline stays missing.

There is precedent for a jetliner going missing. But it's still weird. »

How can a Boeing 777-200ER passenger jet go missing for more than a day? Turns out, it’s not so easy.
Interesting story..
This is a very troubling situation—and mysterious. A plane vanishing from radar and now, with stolen passports becoming an issue, the question is being asked: Accident or purposeful?
At one point, this whole story reminded me of the plot of LOST.
Albeit the story may have more of a closure than the show LOST did, it still remains bizarre that a plane could vanish from site..
There are oil slicks being studied—but oil without wreckage. Odd again.
Still watching as the story evolves.. But so far it’s been chilling.

Friday night LIGHTS OFF

Breaking news is bad on Friday nights..
Reporters are most likely toasting their careers at a watering house somewhere on the wild streets of LA, New York City, or the houses of evil worship in D.C.

Mean while news breaks.
CNN went live--for a minute.. Then they showed a pre-taped Pistorius special. Now we know all we need to about Blade Runner.
CNN switched to Anthony's PARTS UNKNOWN at 11. That's important.

FOX went political.. very political. Hannity told us why conservatives will win. It was a rerun.

On MSNBC? As usual, they are showing years' old programs about prisoners in their unnatural habitat.

And that's how the BIG three covered the big event of a flight going missing over Vietnam.

Luckily Twitter is burning the midnight oil, tweeting with ferocity from around the world. 99% of the re-tweets are most likely rumor and falsehoods.. but by God at least there's somewhere to turn for people who crave information--information that matters.

Note to breaking news: Stick to Monday through Thursdays. You'll never get adequate attention on a Friday night.

BUT...
There's hope that real reporters still exist. Without makeup.. frantic.. and newshounds. Unlike any talking head you see on the big cable nets.

"We have no idea what happened to this plane"

NBC news reports on a plane lost:
A Malaysia Airlines flight carrying 239 people has lost contact with air traffic control and was still missing two hours after it was supposed to have landed in Beijing, the airline said Saturday morning.

The airline told NBC News that a search-and-rescue mission was under way for Flight MH370, a Boeing 777-200, but it said it had no further information.

The flight from Kuala Lumpur, carrying 227 passengers, including two infants, and 12 crew members, had been scheduled to land at 6:30 a.m. in Beijing (5:30 p.m. ET Friday).

Boeing told CNBC it was aware of the report and was monitoring the situation.
While it may be a safe assumption that a missing plane is a crashed plane, no officials are at that point yet. As a matter of fact, the airplane vanished from radar over airspace controlled by Vietnam. Malaysia Airline's vice president actually said "we have no idea what happened to this plane."

According to reports, at the time of the disappearance the plane had 7.5 hours of fuel.

The apparent route of the airliner is over land.

Commentators on cable news are proclaiming that it appears the plane has vanished in thin air..
The plane was at an altitude of 35,000 feet. The pilot had reported nothing as far as problems..

The plane vanished two hours into flight..

At this point, FOX NEWS,  CNN and MSNBC are running their typical Friday night television, ignoring the breaking news event. The story obtained 'breaking news' status on CNN until 10pm EDT when the network switched to a pretaped special on Pistorius..

To the internet the world goes! It's where we get the news.

As fate would have it

There are a events now and then in life that cause me to question reality, existence.. chance.. cause.. coincidence.. One such event took place today.
I was driving my son Ayden home from day care when I went around a sharp turn on the road, narrowly avoiding a giant rock that apparently became disconnected from its home at the top of the mountain. I saw the rock and had enough time to artfully dodge it..
The first thought I had as I drove on was that someone else would hit the rock—and quite possibly my wife driving home from work or someone else close to me. I decided to turn around.
After about another half mile, I found a safe place to turn.. Finally, arriving back at the rock, I pulled off the side of the road the best I could, knowing that I needed to be quick due to the speed of vehicles and the nature of the highway. As I got out of my car, the rock wasn’t just a rock; it was a boulder. Close up, I saw how enormous it actually was.
And just as quick as I stepped one foot out of my car, another car was heading dead straight for the boulder. It made contact.. both tires slammed over top of the of the piece of the mountain and the car did a 180 degrees spin before my eyes.
I moved the rock, which had to weight at least 60 pounds, to the side and then drove behind the person who hit the stone. She was safe, and the child in the back of her car was safe, but rattled by the bounce.. Before leaving the scene, I made certain that she had a ride and that she was fine. The car was not, though.. both tires were shredded.
So it brings up some questions in my mind.
First off.. if I would have decided to turn around a minute sooner, I may have arrived before she had the chance to made contact with the hazard, thus saving her the miserable Friday night mishap.. But as fate would have it, that didn’t occur.
The other thought was how set on turning around I was. How immense of an issue it was for me to do it.. I felt that if I did not go back and take that rock off the road, someone would be hurt, or worse. So the fact I witnessed someone do what I feared was a bit of a shock.
And finally, I wondered this: Did my turning around to go back set into motion the series of events that ruined this woman’s car, but perhaps saved the life of someone else?
I don’t know.
If the multiverse theory has any credence, an infinite amount of simultaneously happened. It just so came to be that I was in the universe where people were safe but tires were destroyed.
I just cannot shake the feeling that I need to go back.. almost that I knew something was going to happen. Or someone would be hurt.
So the fact I witnessed before my eyes the very event I had a premonition of really has my scratching my head.
Coincidence, you may say. And you may be right.
Maybe.

Dropping the dime on Bitcoin: No free lunch for Nakamoto. Unless the AP's buying

I tried for a while to understand Bitcoins. Once I did, I had no ability how to explain it to others .. And quite frankly, there are things about Bitcoins and the big business of trading the virtual coin I'll never understand..

But the house of virtual cards appears to be falling down on the man who is called the father of Bitcoins..

Satoshi Nakamoto lost his privacy when NEWSWEEK reported that he lived in California. The NEWSWEEK profile was a cover story. There's a sense of irony to me since Newsweek is now virtual too...but this new NEWSWEEK is also featuring a return to a print edition--the first in 15 months

I digress...

Nakamoto was outed on his location and how much money is is making off of Bitcoins.. Over the past several weeks, though, there has been more negative attention being paid to the Bitcoin a suicide of a CEO.

And now with Nakamoto's newfound fame, he led reporters on a wild freeway car chase to the local headquarters of the Associated Press in Southern California..

This is how REUTERS is reporting the situation:

Newsweek included a photograph and described a short interview, in which Nakamoto said he was no longer associated with Bitcoin and that it had been turned over to other people. The magazine concluded that the man was the same Nakamoto who founded Bitcoin.
Dozens of reporters, including a sprinkling of Japanese media, encircled and camped outside the man's two-story house on Thursday morning, accosting the mailman and repeatedly ringing the doorbell, to no avail. Police cruisers drove by several times but did not stop.
Several times, someone pulled back the drapes on an upstairs window.
In the afternoon, the silver-haired, bespectacled Nakamoto stepped outside, dressed in a gray sport coat and green striped shirt, with a pen tucked in his shirt pocket. He was mobbed by reporters and told them he was looking for someone who understood Japanese to buy him a free lunch.

And now Nakamoto is denying his involvement with Bitcoin, saying Newsweek's reporting that he's the founder is false..

One odd moment occurred when Nakamoto asked for someone who spoke Japanese because he wanted someone to buy him a free lunch. True story.. Reuters reported that odd aspect as well.

In the afternoon, Nakamoto stepped outside and told reporters he had nothing to do with bitcoin but was looking for someone who understood Japanese, to buy him a free lunch.
An AP reporter said yes, and the two made their way to a nearby sushi restaurant with media in tow, before leaving and heading downtown.

Not a bad deal.. AP gets an exclusive and Nakamoto gets some grub.

As the Bitcoin fever fades...

Don't make me go back to the 1980s Mommy

A recent buzz about an old freaky book caught my attention this week..

The book and its page snaps is being linked in various places on the Internets, including the Vigilant Citizen..

The book is a children's book, with artwork for for kids, about SATANIC RITUAL ABUSE--that fad from the 1980s that peaked in the early 1990s.

The book is called DON'T MAKE ME GO BACK MOMMY. It's filled with frightening images of dead rabbits, abused children, and spooky images of Halloween.. The book was written by Doris Sanford--and right now on AMAZON, given the nature of the story, the book is selling for a not so cheap $155 hardcover. On the Amazon page, several comments are negatively criticizing the book--including a librarian who said the book was not permitted on the shelf due to the morbid content.

If you want to purchase this book, maybe you should also include the SATANIC PANIC by Jeffrey Victor.  It may add balance to your collection since that is the book accusing the whole Satan scare of being a simple false panic promoted unknowingly by media and knowingly by religious leaders trying to fill their churches with more to give cash..

If you care to remember, during the time when Communism was causing a red scare around the world, the Satanic scare occurred when the media of the 80s focused on stories of animal mutilations and devil worshiping in rural America. No place was safe from evil--not even Washington D.C. During the late 80s, kidnappings of children in the bread basket of the United States coincided with a sick scandal involving Lawrence King (not the talk show host) and a credit union. And a sex ring. Read about the Franklin Cover Up if you have some time.

There were two decades of reporting on SRA--with the 1980s being the time when people were most scared of the evil they could now see, and the 1990s being the decade of discrediting the past. During the Clinton 90s, the FBI wrote formal reports saying that Satanic ritual abuse reports was a scare and largely not true.. 20/20 did a show suggesting children had SUGGESTIVE memories, also discrediting SRA..

But official reports from the government have not done much to quell renewed the renewed Internet sensation of SRA..

While some accuse the Church of Satan of being behind the whole affair, that is blatantly not true and shows disregard for logic. The Church of Satan does not even believe in Satan--something that throws a wrinkle in the stories of some, even the latest 'satan' killer Miranda Barbour from  Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

Some real victims of SRA were those who were accused of things they never did. No different than the witch scare of centuries ago..  But there are still websites and groups that wholeheartedly argue SRA is real, and ongoing. And while no 'fad' can ever be completely discounted--clearly there are reports recently of two boys trying to make a deal with the devil and killing an innocent girl--a massive amount of Satanism leading to crime does not seem to have merit.

But that doesn't stop DON'T MAKE ME GO BACK MOMMY from being one of the freakiest books I've ever seen..

The forecasters who cried wolf are calling for another snowstorm in the Northeast

Winter weary.. Weather changing. This weekend will be just fine, with clocks being set ahead and a taste of spring reportedly on the way.. What else could go wrong!? Winter is over, if you want it. OR.. not. For days now, the weather forums I frequent have been talking about an impressive and large storm coming around the middle of March. And just in time for that, models are now picking up a big event for next week.. However, we've recently been down this path. Just last week, forecasters were confident and scary by saying 20 inches or more of snow was set to fall on millions--so a grain of road salt may be in order watching this forecast evolve.

What models are showing, at this hour, is an impressive Nor'Easter like storm hitting the East Coast.
Other reputable weather forecasters don't believe it..
So weather is like politics now. Take a side..

The models are running cold--which means that opposed to spring like Southern air dominating the storm, there will be an onset of cold Arctic air to turn precipitation frozen. If it happens.

If any of this happens.

As mentioned, there were frightening days leading up to the big storm that never was last week--bread and milk sold out for no reason.

But the trouble is, even if a storm was set to strike it's like the forecaster who cried wolf!
The sky didn't fall last week. Neither did snow.
So people may be hit hard and they won't even have bread and milk to feast on..

We'll be watching this one since we are in the target area for blizzard like conditions.

Ocean of trouble

Ebony Wilkerson, age 32, drove her van filled with a 10, 9, and 3-year-old into the Atlantic ocean as onlookers watched in horror..

What ensued was a rescue mission and children screaming for their lives as the water kept getting higher on the car..

Video of the nearly tragic event is harrowing to watch.

Mom and kids were pulled from the water.. An investigation is ongoing and mental health professionals are examining the situation..

It may be slightly noteworthy to mention that, before the event took place Wilkerson was apparently proclaiming demons were in her home..
