— Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown said that “it would appear as if” Elliot Rodger — the suspect in a deadly rampage near the University of California, Santa Barbara — “took his own life” after he was wounded by officers. Rodger was found “obviously dead” in a crashed car, after he allegedly killed six people and injured 13 others.

— After leaving his residence Friday, Rodger apparently fatally shot two female students from the University of California, Santa Barbara, while a third person “suffered multiple gunshot” wounds, Brown told reporters. The suspect then went into a delicatessen, where he shot and killed another USCB student, Christopher Michael-Martinez, according to Brown.

— In addition to the six victims and the dead suspect, 13 people “were injured during this melee,” Brown said. Eight of those suffered gunshot wounds, four were hit “by the suspect’s vehicle” and one has a “minor injury of unknown origin.”

— The suspect “had over 400 remaining rounds of ammunition” when he was found “obviously dead” in his crashed car. Brown said that more people could have been killed if not for the actions of law enforcement.

Information about a mentally disturbed 22-year-old responsible for a mass shooting in the California city is now coming to light.. There is a bizarre angle of the story involving the movie HUNGER GAMES.. CNN reports this in recent dispatches about the shooting:

Based on what police told the family of Elliot Rodger, the parents believe he is the shooter, attorney Alan Shifman, a family spokesman, told reporters. He is the son of Peter Roger, who is identified as an assistant director of the 2012 film "The Hunger Games," according to IMDb.com.

The younger Rodger died from a gunshot wound after his car crashed Friday night, police said. It was unclear whether the fatal head wound was self-inflicted or the result of a firefight with police.

Some good Saturday reading for a cloudy day.. The curious case of Edward Mordrake.  
That is supposedly an image of him. He also reportedly had a face on the back of his head that did not talk, but would laugh and cry.

Also, this: He supposedly wanted doctors to remove the 'demon face' from the back of his head.. when they did not, it would keep him awake at night and finally he succumbed to suicide due to the extra face..

There is even a book in 1900 that supposedly documented all of this.

But is it true?

Could this just be one of those weird urban legends that never went away with time?
I came across this website, Verum Fabula, which attempts to figure out of this is truth or crap.. 
There is also debate on the SNOPES forums as to the real story behind this..

It's certainly medically feasible for it to be true.. but is it true?

Forgive me, but I would rarely want to trust a medical book from the 1900s...

The Solway conclusion: Was the spaceman Templeton's wife?

Could it be? An old mystery from last century solved? Will this finally put the story of the Solway Spaceman to rest? Logic and science and common sense solving one of the most famed UFO and paranormal photos of all time?

We know this about the photo: 

Jim Templeton took the image of his daughter in 1964. A strange white figure of a man who appeared to be in a space suit was visible behind her..

According to the story, Templeton took the image to police.. they said it was nothing out of the ordinary. He sent it to Kodak, which reportedly said the image had not been altered or tampered with..

And finally, according to lure, Men in Black, “Number 9” and “Number 11”
 showed up and talked to Templeton about the photo.. One aspect of the story that I actually was not aware of is reported by the BBC:

Perhaps the strangest turn of events was a link to the planned launch of a Blue Streak missile in Woomera, South Australia.

Just days after Mr Templeton had taken his photograph, that missile test on the other side of the world was aborted by technicians who reported seeing two men in the firing range.

That is a little creepy, perhaps. All of it is, really. 

The BBC has more, though, and interviewed an expert who attempts to finally solve this old mystery with a logical conclusion. Dr. David Clarke met the Templetons, the BBC says.. Also this: Clarke does not think the image is a hoax or purposely fake. Instead, he thinks the spaceman is actually Templeton’s wife..

This: 

"I came away absolutely convinced he was telling the truth and couldn’t explain it himself, although I was less convinced about his ‘Men in Black’ story. Whoever it was who visited him, I don’t think they were from the government."

However, the spaceman, Dr Clarke says, is almost certainly not anything of the sort.

"One of the other stills [taken that day] shows Jim’s wife who, according to him, was standing behind him when he took the photo of Elizabeth," he said.

"I think for some reason his wife walked into the shot and he didn’t see her because with that particular make of camera you could only see 70% of what was in the shot through the viewfinder."

Annie, he argues, was standing with her back to the camera and the photograph was over-exposed - causing her blue dress to look white.

Whatever the truth, for Dr Clarke it is a reminder of a more “innocent time” and he is in no doubt about its importance.

Could that be it? A simply solution to the story.. An ending to what has been a part of UFO lure for decades? Just a woman in a white dress.. over-exposed in color and a product of an early came in an innocent time..

Interesting way to conclude it all..
Are you with Dr. Clarke? Are you of the opinion that this is solved, over and done? Or do you still think that aborted missile launch had something to do with the spaceman.. and that Number 9 and 11 were on to something other-worldly or even alternate worldly..?

The pink skies are falling.. these days it seems like, whenever a large asteroid is near the planet, it seems like it is discovered just a day or two before a potential strike.. And even worse, we hear about how we almost die a year or two after it occurs, like the 2012 solar flare that NEARLY ruined most of our grid on earth. And now this: A year after Chelyabinsk had that big meteor rip through its skies and ruin buildings, we hear this: That meteor actually collided with an asteroid before it hit earth!! What I don't think I will ever forget is that night, while NASA was telling people not to worry about a large asteroid passing by the planet, Chelyabinsk happened and no one knew it until Twitter started flowing with images and videos of this large meteor over the Russian  city.. But what worries me about it is this: That not only were we unaware of a meteor that could hit the planet, but also apparently had no clue about this other asteroid, either. Even though we were being told no fear of the skies that very night.. We need to come up with an earth-defensive system soon. It always seems like our luck will run out.

Frightful Friday before Memorial Day weekend

Memorial Day weekend is approaching. We will be showered with 'news' stories about how the summer is beginning, how the vacation season has started, and the ways movies will change our lives and become box office phenoms over the next three months.
But it all seems to fleeting.
It seems like this yearly ritual of trading seasons, cold to hot, comes and goes too fast and without much fanfare..

Whether it's true or not, it feels like traditions are dying.
I think it is a symptom of a few things for me personally, with getting older  being one of them.. almost going full steam into my mid-30s (yes I read articles when I was in my mid-20s and talked this same way) and it just feels as though riding through like is like going 80MPH on a freeway..

You don't have much time to see what you are passing, and you'll constantly struggling to get to an ill-fated goal.

This year, like other Memorial Days,  there is more attention being given to car and mattress sales than there is the dead from war..  Instead of honoring the soldiers who died in battle in wars past, and previous, we are dishonoring them with badges of horror. The American Veterans Affairs scandal only drips into a bigger puddle of government inefficiency.  Tales of scandals, cooked books, alternate lists, and finally veterans meeting their final fate at the hands of an incredibly incompetent system are all the rage these days, just in time for Memorial Day weekend..  If half of what is being said about the VA system is true, this is beyond problematic. It's crisis time.. and perhaps also time to begin asking for resignations and terminations. When 
you have the chances that terror suspects at GITMO get better treatment that veterans, that's a problem.

Another sign of the season: A big movie release. Almost 4,000 theaters will welcome men and women of all age to the newest X-MEN film.. It remains to be seen how many people will go in holding their nose due to the allegations that Bryan Singer has had a history of raping teenage boys.  While accusations have to be proven in court, the Hollywood scandal of pedophilic directors and movie tycoons seems like a script still being written, and a scene yet to be played out. More will come, I predict. But the small bits of news may not be enough to derail X-MEN from being a big hit. X-MEN today, XXX-MEN tomorrow..

There is one more thing about 2014's summer beginning that may be beautiful: A meteor shower visible from earth in which we may be able to spot 200 meteors per hour.  So put down your iPads and turn off your phones.. go into the night air and spot signs from the heavens.. And realize, regardless of your place in the world, we are all spinning into oblivion on a small rock in the middle of a vast galaxy, within a universe, and who knows what else.

The day after today: Hail and high winds deep in the coal region of PA I swear I was just in a scene from the DAY AFTER TOMORROW.

A monster storm just rolled through with tornado warnings and severe storm alerts.. Hail, high winds.. Saw no funnel clouds or dogs floating by my window with witches on brooms, so that’s a plus.. but word on the ‘net’ is that Danville, PA, got socked with so much hail that windshields are broken all over town..

Here is how big they were

It may sound a little cliche at this point, and you can blame it on global warming or earth changes or manmade chemtrails, but I think weather is getting stronger.

Maybe not ‘worse’ in the sense that it’s widespread, but where storms do pop up they gain so much strength so fast that it makes you truly wonder if the tails of tribulation to come across our planet are true. There was one blast of thunder that was so loud, so deep, it sounded like a train literally tore open the house and ran through ..

Mutley the Dog ran from his normal hiding spot under a desk to the closet floor and attempting to squeeze in between a pair of my jeans and the wall…

Safe here in the coal mines of PA still, though. Lots of flooding and broken trees, but life will go on.
 Always could be worse.

In a recent edition of John B. Well's CARAVAN TO MIDNIGHT  radio program, the former Coast to Coast AM radio host unleashed on current Coast host George Noory without naming him directly.



During episode 63 of the CARAVAN talked about his 'old radio program' and how he thought he would be 'among persons' of 'higher thinking,' discussing subjects that were stimulants to the 'brain and spirit.'  Wells said that some from Coast to Coast AM have contacted him, hinting that it is a means of keeping an eye on him.  He said that someone from the old program wanted him to post his shows ahead of time.

You may recall that Art Bell publicly stated during his brief stint on SIRIUS XM that Coast to Coast AM was poaching his guests and also telling their guests not to appear on the DARK MATTER program.

Wells was also critical of Coast to Coast's choices of guests, stating that Coast purposely brought on a nuclear expert to downplay the Fukushima disaster.

During another program after his initial comments regarding Coast to Coast AM, Wells also gave a public 'hello' to Lisa Lyons--someone who is associated with Coast to Coast AM. Perhaps an allusion is being made that Lyons was the insider from Premiere who asked Wells who his guests were before he had them on.

Wells exited as the Saturday host of Coast to Coast AM months ago. At that time, Premiere Radio seemed to take the position that Wells went off onto a new venture. Even Noory, who publicly commented about the Wells departure on his program, said that John Wells left the program to do his own radio program. However, others including Wells himself have alluded to a forceful exit as opposed to the peaceful goodbye espoused by Premiere Radio.

The CARAVAN TO MIDNIGHT radio program has recently been fighting over online piracy, with Wells naming names during his programs and publicly decrying the pirate streams and YouTube uploads of his program. The CARAVAN TO MIDNIGHT is an online only show and subscription only service exists.

Facebook wants to make it easier for users to share what they’re listening to or watching. The company today announced an update to its mobile app that will allow Facebook to automatically detect what song, movie or TV show a user is listening to or watching.

A little creepy..



Facebook also will allow you to instantly post--or post for you --the song you are listening to right or the television show..

And as creepy and privacy-invasive as this is, expect it to be utilized with great ferocity by Facebook users..
It's either the beginning of big time invasion of privacy or it's just another example of how much we share, and in this case overshare.

But don't kid yourself.. it's not new technology.. Facebook listening to you in 2014 is nothing inventive.  Way back last decade in 2006, Google made some headlines because it was finalizing its plans to listen to you through your computer.

Also let's not forget how often the power to hear you through your device has been abused. In 2010, school children in Philadelphia were being watched through their school issued laptops by officials. You know.. for 'inappropriate behavior.  Also in 2012, then CIA chief (before the sex scandal) David Petraus said that the government will listen to us, the citizenry, through our dishwashers. 

So there you have it.. the slippery slope was already traveled .. not Facebook is simply filling the potholes, making it become 'trendy' and using Beyonce's music as a selling point to sell your information to the world. At a very low cost. You'll do it for free..

The gnome smashed to pieces but inside was another statute .. Heather Andrews has acquired local fame and now, somehow, worldwide attention with her broken gnome.. some have hinted that they think there is a religious overtone to the statue hidden within the hideous gnome.. The woman even broke open more of her garden gnomes to see if any more Jesus-like figures were hidden within. But forgive me Lord, but I don't see the newsworthy nature of this poll.. After all, we had the follolwing the USA: James Buchanan, who was probably the nation's first gay president.. John Kennedy, who reportedly was so high on meth one night that he pranced naked around the lobby .. Bill Clinton, who did not inhale. Obama, who admitted he did. And an endless trove of presidents who cheated and lied their way through scandals. All of them were Christians. Men of God.
Maybe an atheist would do us well for four to eight years.

And today, things get even closer to full revelation. A SETI senior astronomer, Seth Shostak, stated that we may find alien life within the next 20 years.. Even more, some of that life very well come from our own solar system..

Sure, some of the life may be just minuscule and binary.. it could be little microscopic mutants living in mud on some distant world.. But it could also be intelligent life--other life forms looking for another planet to talk to.. within our grip, and theirs, too.

Perhaps the most interesting way of looking at the search was presented by SETI's Dan Werthimer in his testimony to the House Science and Technology Committee in the nation's capitol: I LOVE LUCY and the ED SULLIVAN SHOW has already interacted with 10,000 stars..

The nearby stars have seen ‘The Simpsons.’ If we’re broadcasting, maybe other civilizations are sending signals in our direction — either leaking signals the way that we unintentionally send off signals, or maybe a deliberate signal

It is somewhat amazing and humbling to entertain the notion that other beings from somewhere out there are watching our pop culture. It would certainly not be in real time, but would probably be a good time.

It would also be interesting to ponder this: While we search for intelligent life, did life out there catch a glimpse of our more modern television and turn away? Perhaps they gave up on us after seeing HONEY BOO BOO..?

These lights made big news over the Hawaiian islands Tuesday night..
Twitter and Facebook posts lit up brighter than the lights themselves..
Initially it was rumored that it was a missile launch.
Then the US Navy said they were unaware of any missile launch..
The next day the Department of Defense said it was  a missile launch..

10NEWS reports this:

"During the test, a simulated ballistic missile target was acquired, tracked, and engaged by the Aegis Weapon System," the Department of Defense said. "Several fire control and engagement functions were exercised during the test."

The Department of Defense said that the primary purpose of the launch was to test the functionality of an Aegis Ashore ballistic missile defense system. Defense officials called the launch successful.

Interestingly, the now confirmed missile trail over Hawaii looks a little like the much denied incident that occurred off the coast of California in 2010.

We've only just begun: Fukushima groundwater now flowing into the ocean

If the latest worldwide fish kills have anything to do with increased radiation in the seas, get ready for a big cull coming.. The operator of Japan's Fukushima plant--you know, that place worldwide media has systematically ignored since the March 2011 superquake--says that the destroyed plant has begun released radioactive ground water into the Pacific Ocean..

The goal: Rid the site of the immense amount of radioactive waste actually at the site.

Various accounts have painted a troubling picture since the nuke plant went haywire from the tsunami.. TEPCO has been facing the mounting problems of contaminated water. Their solution has is to get rid of it.. but since we live on a relatively tiny little blue planet of land and water, TEPCO's choice was to just "release it" into the ocean..

They are defending their actions of course, by saying that the release is within legal limits and that it's 'safe' in that sense..

But news accounts from Japan have painted a worsening picture of the situation near the Fukushima plant--and also one that makes the 'safe' claim by TEPCO be questioned..

One such report is a problem that will obviously be denied by the nuke industry in Japan: Reports that all workers--up  to 90% of them--fled the Fukushima plant after the initial meltdown in 2011.
There have been various other reports of safety problems, mutations, and general dangers of the Fukushima area over the past several months..

With the ground water release beginning, one important aspect to remember throughout the process is this: It's just beginning.

Another fact: Fukushima released up to 181 quadrillion bq of cesium. Chernobyl was only 105.  And this: The release will be for years to come.


Couple that with the now tainted and to be tainted Pacific Radiation Rim, and you can see why that Fukushima worker pointing his finger at the world was so mysterious, alarming, and predictive. It's our problem now.. The world's problem.. it's not just confined to one destroyed nuke plant.. and certainly not to one ocean.. It's the world's problem. And no one is doing much to deal with it.

Elevators can be scary places.. not only could you be surrounded by people with shady backgrounds and mysterious origins, but you may also see the 'lady in white.'



I have heard stories of the 'lady in white' in various places.. This may be the first time of one appearing in an elevator..

Rockfort police officers were baffled by an elevator in a parking garage going up and down without reason--a scanner call at one point actually said a person 'wearing all white' was inside an elevator. This occurred across the street from a Rockfort's fame haunted location, the Coronado Theater..

This would probably not be a topic explored by David Paulides since it doesn't match his characteristics, but it's weird.. a 19-year-old college student has vanished from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.. the student is Hye Min Choi. He checked his luggage around 3pm Saturday. But he never boarded the plane.. Information shows a credit card swipe at a McDonalds around 7pm, with the flight scheduled for 740pm that night..His dorm room was empty. I have written this before and will say it again: I have grown tired of the 'zombie apocalypse' stories.. truly tired. But here we go again: Now the Pentagon is making news for drawing up plans to fight zombies in an epic battle. But reading between the lines may be even more troubling.. we are not really gearing up for a fight with flesh eating zombies, but the 'zombies' symbolize human beings who are overrunning hospitals during an emergency, who people desperate not for flesh but for food. This is what they think of us.. we are zombies to battle.. That realistic fact is much more troubling than a fictitious brain eating zombie..

I hate Wordpress Wednesday.. cheese with your whine?

The HORROR REPORT has been writing a little too much about itself lately. The idea that we cannot choose a reliable blogging platform should not be the problem of the reader.. also with that said, the notion that downtime continues to occur is ludicrous and annoying to me. But it happened again for hours over the past two days..

There was a major update to the website coding on our fucntions.php sheet--and viola! An error took place that prevented me from even logging into the site's FTP account.. Since my expertise in coding rests in the early 2000s and not the teens we're in currently, I was befuddled.. A helpless rage took over my entire body for a bit of time.. Before I completely threw the towel in, I got some folks who were experts on the matter on the phone and they tried walking me through it.. didn't work. My web hosting company actually had to step in to get me back to where I was without that one line of code to the functions page which completely eliminated my presence on the web.

The other troubling aspect of the downtime was this: While my site was critically injured by the code problem, and during the time I was unable to view/change/log on, something else was occurring: An endless trove of spam comments were somehow being posted to every page.. images and links to sex, others that promised extended and harder erections, and some that even said it had a cure-all for cancer. Obvious fake people with unoriginal comments.. However, it led me to wonder if something else had occurred that opened my site up for malicious coding or content..

This was my third and worst experience yet with Wordpress.org.

One of my decisions to move to Wordpress was inspired by the internets' hatred of Blogger--the service I have been using for a decade now.. Even more, I read, Wordpress was going to give me complete and total control over my site.. There are 1000s of add-ons, they say.. and  if I use them my site will operate with amazing power.

None of that occurred..

I came to realize that Blogger isn't that bad. And while Google may think they own my content, I say they don't--especially since I back my content up weekly and keep saved filed for future use should the massive internet company ever decide to pick on my and get rid of my account. 

I also came to find out that the people who make these Widgets and add-ons are often as good as me coding wise--experience that led me down the path of potential website deletion, and opening up my coding for hackers and other spammers to take advantage of my down time..

Yes indeed..Wordpress.org is complete control. They said..

They said the website templates were 'professional' and all-inclusive..

I say this: I have no time for the complete control.. I'm more like a 50/50 guy.. I have time to code and do my own thing, but not enough dedication or time to yearn to go through 1000s of widgets to make my site better.. 

And the website designs were hideous, ugly.. and one small change would create errors in the coding structure that you could not correct..

So I turn back to Google Blogger.

And I promise--at least with one finger crossed behind my back--that this will be the final time I bring my personal blogging issues to you, the reader.. I respect you more than that, and you're not here to hear that--you're in this for the weird, the bizarre, the paranormal, and the strange. 

But I wanted to get my unabashed opinion on Wordpress out there for the masses of asses that profess to me that Wordpress is the only way to go..

There are other ways to have complete control over your website and still utilize the demon's blogging service...
