Tommy Lynn Sells is dead

I am very deeply troubled about the death penalty.. I so often think it’s something we should not do, so often think it’s wrong for a nation to still perform ritualistic executions of murderers or criminals..But we do. 

Today, though, I am not weeping for Tommy Lynn Sells.

Sells was put to death in Texas despite last minute attempts to delay..

Sells was one of the more brutal serial killers—and someone that until very recently I really knew nothing of. I am actually a little surprised that our media didn’t tout this man’s horrid crimes as much as they did other serial killers throughout history. Sells ranks up there with the most insane of evildoers to grace our society.. he murdered men, women, and children. He did it without regard or concern.. 

I actually learned the most about Sells from Dave Schrader’s DARKNESS RADIO.. Schrader interviewed author Diane Fanning about Sells.. The horrific nature of his crimes disturbed me to my core. There is a laundry list of murders committed and also some he is suspected of.

Sells is suspected of killing the Dardeen family in 1987--the story of these murders is beyond comparison.. if Sells did it, that means he killed a father, a 3-year-old, a mother—who gave birth during her death. The premature baby girl was then savagely beaten and killed, too.. 

This is one case that made me question the death penalty—but in the other way. It made me wonder if my opposition to it was just a fanciful dream that people are ‘decent’ … indecent people like Sells maybe don’t deserve oxygen.. 

Regardless of that, Sells is dead now.

Ebola has escaped its borders.. now suspected in Mali, where there suspected cases are now in isolation..

The Space Station had to dodge space junk--again.. And here on earth, a skydiver was doing his thing when a meteorite narrowly missed hitting him! Here is the video of the near hit. Clyde Lewis pointed out on his Facebook pagethat if a meteorite almost hit a man, he believes that a meteor may still be the blame for the missing flight 370.

This is big, big stuff: Cassini spacecraft has found evidence of subsurface water on Saturn's moon Enceladus.. With that there may be life--not beachgoers rocking to tunes on a sunny day, but microbes doing what they do best in running water.. We are not alone.

War coming: Battle for food and water on the way as climate change continues, we're told..

Thursday happenings

A run down of the bad the badder and the baddest from the world at large. Some good thrown in, too.. peppered through the daily headlines of doom and gloom are glitters of hope--but all that glitters is not gold..

Here's what I know that you should this very early Thursday morning, too..

A very troubling shooting occurred last night at Fort Hood in Texas--the second time a mass shooting took place now at this Army base.. This go around, we are told, three have been killed and the fourth dead is the gunman.. His name is Ivan Lopez and he is a veteran suffering from mental disorders after a tour in Iraq..  16 more were injured..


There was a another big earthquake off of Chile's coastline, the same location as the 8.2 struck.. it was 7.4 .. And right after, a 7.6 shook!  There may have been more.. I am actually losing count. And with a ring of fire that looks like a Christmas tree, how can one NOT lose count?

March 31, 2014: After 40 years of being dormant, a silent volcano in Peru has suddenly erupted..

The Internet world is alive about the video of elk running at Yellowstone--a video that the HORROR REPORT posted but also actively questioned.. The most read article concerning this is from the EPOCH TIMES, which paints an alarming picture that animals in general are leaving Yellowstone and the end is nigh.. Perhaps a little perspective is needed. The reason I posted some doubts about this video is it was a 'too good to be true' end times type of thing.. Elk running for their lives from the supervolcano about to blow! AND then a 4.8 hits the next day.. the timing could not have been better.
BUT.. Sharon Hill from DOUBTFUL NEWS adds a bit of, well, doubt, to the story.. and common sense.. and logical questions that maybe can 'bring you back' from the cliff and the eve of destruction. Elk running for their lives. Or maybe... just running?

Since Art Bell left SIRIUS radio with a contentious exit, webmaster Keith Rowland has entered a new phase: Hosting and updating a website for all paranormal talk radio streaming online at Dark Matter Radio Network.. There is no listing on the page for anything related to Bell.. Likewise, ArtBell.com lacks information about this supposed return..

If it turns out to be a joke, hundreds of people liking and commenting on Bell's Facebook page may consider unfriending the radio legend.. As some on BELLGAB have pointed out already, a 'dangerous game' of emotions may be played if this turns out to be a ruse..

I pity the April fool

I loathe April Fools Day. I have always loathed April Fools Day, from the time when children used to scream 'April Fools!" in shrill voices after completing some type of unfunny prank to today.

And now today, with the internet, it can be April Fools every day. How many times have you seen someone fall for a fake story on the ONION? Or even fake news from the mainstream media..?

But the worst of the worst in our modern times are these undoubtedly fake 'news' stories that passed around from reader to reader on April fools day.. I saw a few really unfunny stories the moment I woke up this morning. For example, a website I follow that reports actual legitimate information regarding solar flares announced that a killshot had exploded from the sun and we were doomed to die. So tacky, so not funny.. and so possible one day in the future that it is REALLY not humorous at all.. I equate that with the Weather Channel giving fake tornado reports and alarming entire towns that imminent destruction is on the horizon.

Other definites to expect on April Fools: The fraud stories that your favorite celebrity has died.. the tales that some weird scientific discovery has just be made..

Perhaps the very most annoying April fools jokes still come from terrestrial radio of the 20th century. Disc jockeys who are aging and still want to be the next 'Jerky Boy' come up with some of the most ludicrously unfunny 'pranks.'

But with every holiday we 'celebrate' there is a root meaning behind it.. no different for April fools. The 1st of April is really a day with an intention that you do thinks to make other people look like fools. True fools.. Jokes on them kind of stuff..

There are ancient precursors to the modern April fools day found in Roman and Medieval feasts..There are different customs of jokes from around the world..
Some think that there are religious reasons why April fools pranks started.. and if religious history is involved, no doubt pagan rituals also abound. People do trace April fools back to some pagan traditions..
And yes.. going full steam ahead down from the pagan path to a point of no return,  some people even equate April fools to Satan himself.

In the end, we know this:
Don't trust any news link you read today.
Try to maintain your composure when some annoying co worker shouts "APRIL FOOLS!!!" at you..
Know that it's only one day, and it's almost over.
And this: You will find out a lot about the 'sense of humor' of people--especially those who have no ability to tell jokes or be funny at all and still try today.. so often those without any common sense of humor will have an immense belly laugh at their own jokes..

The good news is that as a tradition April fools pranks are pulled before noon of the day--those done after bring a curse and bad luck to the prankster.. then who's the fool to be pitied?

And this: You will find out a lot about the 'sense of humor' of people--especially those who have no ability to tell jokes or be funny at all and still try today.. so often those without any common sense of humor will have an immense belly laugh at their own jokes..

The good news is that as a tradition April fools pranks are pulled before noon of the day--those done after bring a curse and bad luck to the prankster.. then who's the fool to be pitied?

Case of the Mondays: A cold spring rundown of the horrific happenings from hell. Selfies abound.

It snowed a LOT last night .. Not everywhere.. Maybe you have beautiful warmth and sun.. Maybe you have rain.. maybe a landslide.. typhoon.. name that disaster. But here in HORROR REPORT land, we had over 7 inches of snow after the flooding rain made the switch. A reminder that March can end like a lion, too.. and that April could still be rough. Take nothing for granted, not even beautiful blue skies. It can change rapidly..

And news does, too.. here's the latest rundown of things making me scared today..

As if Kim Jong Un is not worrying enough, this happened hours ago: North Korea and South Korea traded fire during military drills--real fire. Real artillery.   Residents on five front line islands in South Korea were in shelters for hours ..

(When will this stop being 'breaking news'?) New debris has been sighted but no confirmed signs of the Flight 370.. I think there is a larger story we are missing: The oceans are apparently (and obviously) littered with garbage and 'debris' as far as the eye can see.. Nice work humans.

Experts are now saying that a major quake on the Puente Hills fault line may actually do more damage to Los Angeles than one along the San Andreas! After aftershock weekend, this is the only thing on Los Angelenos' minds..

But just get into the mindset of people from Southern California right now.. They have a beautiful state and, besides Hollywood, the area is filled with good people. And they are being told that up to 18,000 of them could die if a big one hit.. Of course, as the UK DAILY MAIL points out, in our selfie culture, it's sort of what everyone did after the series of weekend quakes.. They didn't do THAT in 1906! OR ... did they? My God.. I think they did!?

After I read the DAILY MAIL piece about the selfie culture, I found so many photos from the great 1906 San Francisco earthquake in which people were posing in front of rubble.. ruins.. and remnants. I think it's because, in a sense, the selfie is just a piece of human nature. It documents the fact that "you were there" .. that you saw what you saw, and for the record, you lived through it.. Just as those who wore those cloaks and vestments of the 1900s did as they sternly posed for the camera with debris and death behind them, we do the same now.. Perhaps nothing has really changed. Maybe nothing has ever been the same.. But the selfie has always been there. Even honest Abe loved to get his photo taken. I bet central bank notes that he would have also had an INSTAGRAM to compete with Justin Bieber. And that soldiers would have taken selfies on the battlefield at Gettysburg..


Then again, as we see here, sometimes the selfie gets tasteless.. the Arizona Wildcats lost and the streets went wild, with students 'rioting' over the pointless nonsense that is called college sports. And selfies were all the rage, along with the actual 'rage' over nothing in the streets..



This weekend also featured a pretty strong tremor in Yellowstone. I greet that story with two opposing others: 1) In February 'unusual' activity was noted at Yellowstone. And 2) The 4.8 quake came does after a story was reported that some experts want to classify Yellowstone as 'dormant.' SO, take that experts! Either way, it appears animals know something we don't..

The United Nations has issued a report to inform us: No one will be spared the heartache and loss that global warming will bring.. 

Nothing has changed with the Ebola situation: It continues to spread, and it continues to kill..

Federal Ministry of Health has issued an alert urging persons with high fever, headache, severe abdominal pain, diarrhea and bleeding and especially with a history of travel to Guinea, Sierra Leone or Liberia, to report to the health authorities at once.


A mystery aircraft flying over the state of Texas is raising suspicions.. It's low flying, it's silver-painted, and it's got everyone looking to the sky.. And it's government..


Seriously.. this is happening again!? People trying to apply for Monday's midnight OBAMACARE deadline are being greeted again with the website 'currently unavailable' messages..  this is beginning to feel like a big joke--maybe it's just an April fools prank and the website will announce on the 1st of April, "April Fools, you got until midnight tonight instead!"


And while you were trying to access the Health Care website, Obama was eatin' good in the neighborhood of King Abdullah, as photos prove..


Two weather forecasters were literally blown away while reporting on storm..

I am constantly amazed by elephants--anyone who read this site for any given time will know that.. And this article equally interested me. A killer elephant on the rampage through a West Bengal village STOPPED to save a crying baby beneath the rubble of a house it had begun to demolish..  And besides that nice little story, my GOD, ELEPHANTS VS HUMAN should be the next SYFY special...Or just put a camera on an elephant's tusk in West Bengal and see the action as it rampages the streets...

The SMART SET from Drexel University has an interesting little story (and humorously sarcastic) about whether or not the car killed with fairies .. you know, those little creatures who plagued so many in history? Fairies are  believed, by some, to be real.. to be actual little creatures that appear in legends and folklore.  In 2011, an out of work bricklayer in Mexico said he caught a fairy and preserved it in formaldehyde.. Other websites are dedicated to the idea that fairies are real .. BUT ALAS, should you see a fairy, perhaps it's best not to surround yourself with their radiant light. They could be of darkness, and perhaps there to steal your soul with their evil.. That .. or they are JUST NOT REAL.
