If you read the HORROR REPORT late last night, you may have caught the story last night about a bowl breaking in my house. My wife tells me I should really not write that late--maybe she's right..it fraught with bad grammar and poorly constructed sentences. I am no Pulitzer Prize winning writer, mind you, but I am a little embarrassed when I publish such bad content. My apologies. That however does not discount the fact that, for no reason, three people heard a spoon clang against a bowl and all three of us watched the bowl break. I still have no ability to sensibly understand why or scientifically say how..

The new word of the year: BARRYCADES.. those monuments of government shutdowns called barricades, changed a bit to fit the President's order to close certain places. In the case of Mount Vernon, an order was given to shut it down. Funny enough, it's PRIVATELY OWNED!
Federal workers nervously anxious over shutdown.. In many states, even if federal workers want to file for unemployment, to certify that they continue UC benefits, they will need to prove they are searching for another job--and if they are offered another job and don't take it, they quite possibly will lose benefits..

TONIGHT, around 6:30 PM…
It was just another night at Horror Report home base..
My wife’s sister was here for dinner.. Ayden, as usual, wasn’t hungry, so he was watching BATMAN on TV.. And on the table, three empty bowls. Our soup was gone..
For the record, my wife and her sister were talking.. my empty
I stood up from the table and turned around to the refrigerator to get something… My wife and her sister remained at the table.
I suddenly heard a clank noise, as though the spoon hit the bowl. When I turned around, the three of us witnessed the bowl crack into three pieces. When my wife moved her arms towards to the bowl to pick up the glass, it cracked and shattered further…
All three of us heard the spoon clank noise.. all three of us watched the bowl crash.
This occurred about 10 minutes AFTER hot soup was gone.. an empty, cold bowl.
By the way, the bowl itself is “Corelle Break and Chip Resistant.”

I am “SURE” there is a scientific explanation for this.. But I racked my brain for hours now trying to figure that out .. the only end game I can have is to travel down the paranormal road.

As someone who is dating myself in my less than youthful invigoration, I think things began to change around the the turn of the century from 1999 to 2001.. We saw hits happen in the summer, like THE SIXTH SENSE, the BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, and JEEPERS CREEPERS. It was clear to studios then, as it is now, that you don't need leaves changing and cooler nights to entice movie goers to be scared. And in the summer, you have another good thing: Kids aren't in school and are more inclined to do late movies.
Either way, I don't get angry or sad that October features few horror movies--most of them are less than watchable anyway to me.. My horror movie marathon for the season typically happens the night before or the night of Halloween, and is filled with only the first John Carpenter HALLOWEEN version.. I don't need no stinkin' theater for that.

Tomorrow is October 1 and all those FEMA Region 3 preps should be finalized, right?
There was a NARROW miss by the an asteroid this weekend, according to Russian scientists.. while we are being told it was not detected, maybe we should ask if it was…? Maybe this is why the regional preparations have been occurring? Maybe my tin foil hat is wound too tight?
Either way, we know this: Ohio saw a big fireball, as did about twelve other states and Canada. Clyde Lewis went nuts during his live broadcast Friday night attempting to comprehend this issue.. and then on Saturday, Alabama saw a big fireball. Last night, Zimbabwe saw a ‘moon like’ object..
There was no warning of this asteroid.. there was no major scientist who saw this.. and we have to now rely on the world’s new superpower, Russia, to tell us when we almost had a life-destroying asteroid hit.
This one was too close for comfort..

The HORROR REPORT is looking for some type of certification of the Examiner article .. Originally a news account stated that an elderly couple died after their house caught on fire.. Reports of the meteor and fire in the sky Friday night seemed to center mostly in Ohio, and especially Peebles.. a comment on the AMSMETEORS.ORG page about the fireball from 'James' said,

I reported seeing this meteor last night and later found out that people I know died from the fire it caused to a house. This story has gained some major attention tonight.. The big meteor that was seen in now 12 states Friday night may have hit in Peebles, Ohio.. and two people may be dead as a result..
The HORROR REPORT is looking for some type of certification of the Examiner article .. Originally a news account stated that an elderly couple died after their house caught on fire.. Reports of the meteor and fire in the sky Friday night seemed to center mostly in Ohio, and especially Peebles.. a comment on the AMSMETEORS.ORG page about the fireball from 'James' said,
The HORROR REPORT is still working on some form of confirmation of this event.. There are few headlines relating to the fire and death being caused by the meteor hitting..
An email to the HORROR REPORT from a reader in Ohio says there was no impact in the state, and the Peebles house fire was not related in any way to the fireball in the sky that was seen by hundreds in now twelve different states..
Meteors zoom through the sky all of the time.. impacts happen too--that would be nothing new for earth. But this year, this month, and this period of time, seems to be extra-special in terms of events and action.. the skies are on fire, balls of light are flying above.. and the Comet Ison is coming. I live in Adams county southern Ohio…a meteorite or satellite burst through the atmosphere, I heard a loud boom preceded by a blue streak and white flash…then the vapor trail lasted about 10 seconds…fire trucks scrambled to a nearby farm where a fire was reported from a fireball from the sky..around peebles area…crazy!Another comment on the site from 'Marie' said,
I reported seeing this meteor last night and later found out that people I know died from the fire it caused to a house. An elderly couple was killed near my home after the meteor crashed near their home setting the house on fire. Flames were 70 ft high and the couple died of smoke inhalation in Peebles, Ohio.If the house fire and unforuntate death of this elderly couple is directly related to the meteor impact, that will be very interesting... even more interesting because Peebles, the small town in Ohio, is also the site of a big meteor strike 300 million years ago..
Although eyewitnesses saw the meteor crash to the ground their the fire chief is saying there is no impact crater so it wasn’t the meteor that caused it. Do meteors always cause impact craters especially if they are small and hit structures?
