I am quitting nighttime sleep meditations. But nothing against meditation.

The march of machines is taking our jobs from under our feet.. robots will accomplish tasks once held by human.
But in all of the futureshock we are being hit with, one thing remains clear: People are still trying to be people. And get in touch with the larger element of our cosmos..

Enter into the equation something that maybe could be the job of the future: An expert on meditation..

Mary Macvean of the LA TIMES writes  that people are seeking a way to slow down.. a moment to take a breather and disconnect from the highly wired world. And in doing so, find the inner peace that is promised with meditation..

The LA TIMES opens this way:
"Bring your attention to this moment," Janice Marturano instructed. "Be open to sensations of warmth or coolness, sensations of fullness from breakfast, or perhaps hunger." Minutes later, the meditation ended with the traditional strikes of little hand cymbals.

Buddhists? Old hippies? New Agers?

Nope. The room was full of hospital executives and managers in lab coats and scrubs, jeans and sports coats at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. And the teacher was Marturano, once a top executive at General Mills.

And it goes from there--people who are in highly respected walks of life are the new meditators.. They are attempting to slow down a bit..

Years ago, well before the 60s generation drugged the meditation world up, this would have been unheard of. It wasn't so long ago that even Catholic priests warned of the dangers of meditation.. you can slip out of the realm here and let evil forces take over. Now most religions are heralding in the power of yoga and mixing it with prayer. What was blasphemy then is bastioning now.

I can see it now.. experts in meditation opening up their own buildings where people can find solitude in darkness. Experts and 'gurus' will be the new fad--and lots of people will pay big money to those who call themselves a subject matter expert in the art of just being alive without a handheld device.

Instead of a quiet walk in the woods, we will pay hundreds of dollars to someone who can give us the experience in alternate ways.. A new movement! And a new job market.. Finally humans may have found the one thing robots can't do. Well.. maybe not.

There is one interesting caveat, and a personal one, I'd like to share on this, however.. And an important one. For about two weeks, I was attempting a certain sleep meditation (one that will remain nameless, as I don't want to besmirch the reputation of a highly visited YOUTUBE page.)  It seemed to be putting my to sleep quite fast.. the video's essentially said it would connect me, or the user listening, to the God of the universe. Whatever that meant..

The video clearly had an impact on my life. But not the one I expected.. For about two weeks, I fell asleep fast without trouble. But I didn't dream.. I literally can't remember one instance in the two weeks where I woke up remembering any dream at all. Even more, for about a week and a half my daily life seemed slower and more zombielike. I didn't get excited about nearly anything.. I was zoned out, and even my morning coffee didn't do much to awaken me. I  stopped the meditation and without about three or four days I was back acting normal again, heart racing after caffeine. Even my tin-foil hat paranoia was back in full force.

So which 'me' was the better me? Zoned out and careless about most of everything. Or wired with a touch of mental anarchy? A better question, perhaps: Which was the real me? I have lived most of my life being stranger than some and perceiving conspiracy where others don't even see smoke. But I am never at rest. The meditation-version of me was at rest. At night, and even during the day..

This showcases, at least for me, the power of meditation and the ability of the mind-body connection becoming more of an albatross than a savior.

I am quitting the nighttime hypnoses.

Instead maybe I'll just take a phone-free walk in the snow winter woods.

The growth of doom

I got an email last night from someone saying that they come to the HORROR REPORT for horror news, and not world events.. I implore you, find reader, look to your news headlines for the horror. It is there..

The HORROR REPORT has been around since 1999, in some shape or another. At that time, we were on message boards and forums.. AOL rooms and ICQ rooms.. Now we're steady as a website--one that changes its design now and then, much to the chagrin of readers who are thoroughly confused by the constant reshaping of icons and pages.. Throughout all of the history of the HORROR REPORT, we have told readers of the scariest of things both real and fake. Movies, TV, comics, and books. And real events..

The news of the day is always scary. It is always the best of times and the worst of times..

The latest 'worst of times' news is constantly streaming to us from the Middle East, where a death cult describing itself as a religious branch of Islam is wrecking lives and destroying realities.. ISIS is not a Muslim group. They are beyond the pale, and have no regard for decency or any tenets that other Muslims hold.. As a matter of fact, we are being thrown back onto the cesspool of the Middle Ages with each beheading.. each burning..each stoning.. and each baby being stomped on by ruthless men who are hellbent on shocking the world even more than we have been..

Just last night, the HORROR REPORT reported on the prophecy of end times that is guiding ISIS.  They believe they are heralding in the final days. Some in the extreme religious right think the final days are here, too.. but they are mistaken when they believe their rapture will save them from suffering the rest of us would have to endure. World citizens, I think we are in this together. And if we don't think about how to stop this new century's villain, the next century will look back and either ask us why they inherited a thousand years of darkness or ponder why this current age seemed determined to allow itself to become a turmoil-laden battleground of religious insanity..

warpseed

ISIS is expanding its area. The latest atrocity is showcasing their power in Libya and growing influence in North Africa. Tim Lister reports today that the group is actually growing at a warp speed:

ISIS is under pressure in parts of Iraq and battling a variety of adversaries in Syria, but it's metastasizing at warp speed elsewhere, most dangerously in Egypt and Libya.

It also has support in Yemen, Afghanistan and Pakistan. And the leader of the group ravaging northern Nigeria, Boko Haram, has expressed his admiration of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.Set featured image

I am reminded of the previous comments of our leaders..Comments that all proved to be either wrong or ignorant.. Bush with his 'bring it on.' Obama with his 'benchwarmers' comment about ISIS. Or the Iron Lady Hillary Clinton's 'we came' joke about Qaddafi's death and subsequent corpse raping the dictator endured at the moment when the 'Arab Spring' took shape in Libya.

Dead ambassadors. Weapons being given to Al Qaeda.. chess matches in a land of oil. And all for what? Another group of horror established itself.. John McCain denies he met with them. But there are photos.

If those photos matter now.

This is morphing at a warp speed..

500 miles from Rome.
And they could watch 500 more.

THE PROPHECY DRIVING WORLD EVENTS

This website and many others have talked about the prophecy of the Popes quite a bit..   Just recently, we also reported on the undertone of rumblings about strange threats to the Vatican and to the Pope himself--along with the news last night that ISIS beheaded 21 Coptic Christians and have publicly said that they want to go to Rome next.

Lots of eyebrows have suddenly been raised to what we have been saying: Prophecy is playing out in real life. However, it may not be due to divine inspiration, but instead because ISIS is paying attention to prophecy and wants to accelerate what it deems as the end times.

CNN

CNN's Peter Bergen reports this tonight:

The name of the Dabiq magazine itself helps us understand ISIS' worldview. The Syrian town of Dabiq is where the Prophet Mohammed is supposed to have predicted that the armies of Islam and "Rome" would meet for the final battle that will precede the end of time and the triumph of true Islam.

In the recent issue of Dabiq it states: "As the world progresses towards al-Malhamah al-Kubrā, ('the Great Battle' to be held at Dabiq) the option to stand on the sidelines as a mere observer is being lost." In other words, in its logic, you are either on the side of ISIS or you are on the side of the Crusaders and infidels.

When American aid worker Peter Kassig was murdered by ISIS in November, "Jihadi John" -- the masked British murderer who has appeared in so many ISIS videos -- said of Kassig: "We bury the first crusader in Dabiq, eagerly waiting for the rest of your armies to arrive."

In other words, ISIS wants a Western ground force to invade Syria, as that will confirm the prophecy about Dabiq.

This may be tough to ponder for a more secular world.

A wide spectrum of religions, however, understand the deal quite well.. If these human sacrifices continue, and the Pope is in danger, a veil of darkness will descend over this world.. depending on your point of view, either Jesus comes back as the Judge, or Islam will be the true religion that inherits the earth.

So here we are, in a time when modern convenience is plenty and the joys of technology is often unparalleled.  All the while, beheadings and burnings are being conceived by other humans--humans not at all rational.. Instead of projecting the intelligence of evolution and modern maturity, we are being taken back to the middle ages.. For so many right now under the leadership of ISIS, the dark ages are ruling..

With each step closer to Rome, I fear the steps will be closer to two different branches of faith believing that end times are upon us.. Sadly, many Christians will throw their hands up and wait for a rapture that, logic tells us, will not occur. Instead we will be faced to deal with death and a hell on earth.

And then what..?

Cold as hell

Some of the coldest weather in 21 years ..

It hurts to breathe, stand outside ..

Even my dog decided to cut short his early morning walk with 7 below temperatures greeting him. ..

It's brutal. Just brutal..

ISIS BEHEADS COPTIC CHRISTIANS IN NEW VIDEO RELEASE

coptixcThe AFP is reporting,
The Islamic State group in Libya released a video on Sunday purportedly showing the beheading of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians, prompting Egypt's president to threaten a "suitable" punishment for the killings.

More:

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said his country reserved the right to "punish these murderers" as he called a meeting of security chiefs and declared seven days of mourning after the video was distributed by jihadists on social media.

The footage shows 21 handcuffed hostages wearing orange jumpsuits being beheaded by their black-suited captors on a beach the group said was in the Libyan province of Tripoli.

The developing story has taken the internet by storm Sunday night, with images of the video--and the video itself--making runs across social networks..

The Associated Press is adding to the fear over this horrid story.. ASHRAF KHALIL AND MAGGIE MICHAEL are reporting this in recent runs across the news wire:
The killings raise the possibility that the Islamic militant group — which controls about a third of Syria and Iraq in a self-declared caliphate — has established a direct affiliate less than 500 miles (800 kilometers) from the southern tip of Italy. One of the militants in the video makes direct reference to that possibility, saying the group now plans to "conquer Rome."

NIGHT TERROR NEWS has published articles relating to these vague threats previously, one here called 'shadows and dangers' and another about the 'paranoid prophecies of the Pope' ..  each story suggested a danger lurking with the rise of ISIS and radical Islam--and those dangers pointed at the Vatican and Rome..

And now, tonight, the AP is pointing out the obvious and most troubling: ISIS is only 500 miles from Italy..

My really ultra sad and depressing assessment of tonight’s SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE 40th anniversary nostalgia

I was looking forward to this 3+ hour extravaganza celebrating SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE'S 40 anniversary for weeks.. Tonight when it finally began, I couldn't to turn it off..

Let me explain.
I grew up watching the show.. from an early age, I recall my parents allowing me to stay up late on a Saturday to watch the cold open, usually with Phil Hartman nailing his Ronald Reagan impression. I typically was only able to stay away until the band's first song.. As I got older, the show was a staple of my existence on weekends.. after working late at a restaurant for several years, this program was the go-to before turning in and waking up the next day to do the same grind job again. There are even particular seasons I find the best: The 92-94 years, and then 97-the early 2000s..

The special airing tonight is giving me a different sense of SNL.. In a sense, I think the forced nostalgia is a bad thing. The live recreation of old skits using the same actors--actors clearly who have aged and gained weight--are not kind.  The parade of stars is obviously interesting to watch, but it's also a bit unnerving to see how fast 40 years went by. And how many stars have left our world.. the number of unfortunate deaths of cast members is normal with a program that spans four decades.. But the sharp recall it gives so many people seemingly makes them also think of their own demise..

Call me a little too negative on this, but I was reminded watching it of my own aging process as well.. Some may call me young yet.. But when you realize that you're about 6 years younger than this program, you get the 'oh boy' moment..

There are some other things that are called to mind when seeing this many years of memories. First off, SNL is running shorter clips of the classics. They used to be 20 years old.. but now as they age, the life of the memories has become abbreviated to fit more..

And in fitting more, it also showcases how the 'not ready for prime time' comedians of the 1970s have led to a 'does anyone still watch this show?' mentality of our current age..

The modern world of comedy is a bit different.. The youth of today, for better or worse, like watching clips on Youtube or short 10 seconds VINES.. or even shorter three second GIFs.. Or better yet, one frame memes usually featuring some sarcastic or rude commentary about life. The live entertainment offered up on SNL is not cutting edge. While they have attempted to mix the internet generation onto their show, the last effective cast to do that was Andy Samberg. And really, he only gave us a 'dick in the box' as the fondest memory some have of him on the show..

I am really not trying to be negative--I am not. But seeing Chevy Chase's weight start gathering around his neck like a brace, and "Opera Man" coming back, Steve Martin singing 'King Tut', and Dan Aykroyd blending up a fish al-la-70s style, I get a bit nostalgic. And a bit sad.. And quite honestly a bit too much.

Maybe some nostalgia should be left to the personal moment, the time when you're alone and contemplating all you have seen and done.
Maybe this 40th anniversary special is a little unhealthy..

Yes, I am seeing the Facebook and Twitter messages of people "LOL"ing  .. And they are taking photographs of the show from the smart phone of the TV, mostly trying to brag about the APPLE TV or SAMSUNG in their homes... It all seems so vacant.. It seems so forced..
Compared to the early clips of racy and risky humor, the current incarnation of this show is overly safe and about as cutting edge than a dull butter knife.

This is my honest assessment and gut instinct of this NBC special..I may be wrong.. But it's how I feel.

Perhaps I am alone..
Or maybe 40 years worth of three generations is LOL in spite of themselves tonight.. and when it's over they will wonder where their night has gone. And their lives.. As the beat goes on.

SNL 40th Anniversary Special

The implied message of this Jehovah Witness video: Not paying attention at meetings will kill children

I don't think I am wrong.. here's a video for you to decide for yourself:

This is a reason all organized religions, regardless of the name, reminds me of Pink Floyd songs..

The threat of death .. if you fall asleep at meeting, your life will not be spared.

Listen up kids. The flood is coming.

THE NEW WORLD ORDER AT MORNING TIME?

Call me a tin-foil-hat wearing paranoid conspiracy believer, but a rather peculiar headline got my attention today from BLOOMBERG, as captured here:

Bloomberg announces the new world order

For those who still don't know, the normally safe and completely secure city of Copenhagen has become a fortress..heavily armed police roam the streets. Order is being kept as the constant sound of sirens blare in the air.. This is how BLOOMBERG reporters Christian Wienberg and Frances Schwartzkopff present their information:
The Danish capital, which topped a 2014 Monocle ranking of livable cities, is in a state of shock after attacks that erupted on Saturday are being investigated as a terrorist act. Two people were shot dead and five police officers wounded. Security services gunned down the suspect after he shot at them on Sunday following a manhunt that lasted through the night.
Danes now need to brace themselves for a new reality, Justice Minister Mette Frederiksen said at a press conference on Sunday. “There’s no room to be naïve,” she said. “These are dark forces that want to hurt us.”

As European leaders declare their determination to preserve the region’s way of life in the face of extremism, the risks of doing so are proving daunting. A record security operation is now under way in Copenhagen with units from all over the country sent to the capital. The shootings in Denmark may have been inspired by the January massacre in Paris at satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, police said. About 10,500 soldiers have been deployed in France since that attack.

The Australian writes that 'we are all Danish tonight' about the incident..

And perhaps we are all living under a new world order?

There us audio of the gunman opening fire in the cafe.

Terror has come to the city of Copenhagen.
And with it, a world order that the rest of the world has been fully aware of for some time..

There is nothing 'new' about it.

The Podesta reveal

Imagine: A United States citizen with high profiles and extremely high credentials and clearances in the United States government publicly saying that he wishes he could have brought disclosure on the topic of UFOs.

Imagine..

NOW>>

Stop imagining.. it’s exactly what John Podesta is saying! Some hate him politically, others love him. But stop with the ridiculous two-party division nonsense and just realize what Podesta, a former Clinton staffer, is really saying: Podesta said in a tweet February 13th:

“Finally, my biggest failure of 2014: Once again not securing the of the UFO files..”

There seems to be a drumbeat of news leading to some sort of reveal..
If Podesta's wish comes true, we'll see it soon.

Just in time for the United States to open doors to a new relationship with CUBA, this shows up:

A “much more aggressive than others” strain of HIV have been discovered by an international team of researchers in patients in Cuba. ..

TRANSFORMERS rumors: Some news reports are just all thumbs.

Some new rumors about Megan Fox and Michael Bay–could it be that she’s in the new TRANSFORMERS movie but HE is out!? At this point just rumors. I highly doubt them as well.. for better or worse, Michael Bay IS the TRANSFORMERS movie.

And lots of people are really excited about the idea that Fox will return along with Shia LeBeouf, so as long as he’s not wearing some paper apparatus over his head that day..

These casting and production rumors are getting a little ridiculous.. as noted with a headline like this: “‘Transformers 5′ Cast, Trailer & Plot: Mark Wahlberg & Megan Fox Confirmed For Film [Rumors]

(because I'd go to REALTY TODAY for my entertainment news?)

reatod

… ahhhh..entertainment journalism. Where the words ‘confirmed’ and ‘rumors’ can appear in the same sentence..

12 ways the world could end. Brought to us by a reputable publication near you

Some good news for your Sunday morning sidewalk–tongue in cheek on that.. a reliable publication like the FINANCIAL TIMES would never attempt to just scare us with awful things, right?

They have.

ft

They are giving us a list of the 12 ways the world could end.. Asteroids.. supervolcanos.. global monetary collapse.. nuclear war.. pandemic..

Perhaps my favorite though: “Unknown consequences.”

The catch all. Just in case they missed any disaster scenarios, they want to go for the full wide ranging effect on your psyche. Thanks reliable reporters at FT. Never expected it from you..

But the frightening part, more than anything, is how right they are.

Sure we are comforted by our warm blankets each night. While we sleep peacefully in dreamland, there's a hell being unleashed from underneath the planet.. Notice how many volcanoes are becoming lively again? Earth shaking along the East Coast.. Strange looking bombs going off in Ukraine. And the minute hands were moved ever so close to midnight by scientists who still warn of impending nuclear disaster.

I always am amazed as to how often life does not end on any given day. It seems we are always a hair trigger away from some awful event. Maybe there's a defiant hand of creation involved to stop the anarchy from unraveling on the thin crust of this little pale blue dot. I don't know..

But I do know this: FT is paying close attention. The reporters must have had a little too much coffee and Clyde Lewis recently..

Hadron Hell?

The Large Hadron Super Collider is going to be restarting again–a new particle, we’re told, could be detected this year that would make the Higgs Boson look minor.

For those keeping score, there are tons of websites online depicting a frightening scenario, one that they say even Stephen Hawking is warning us of.. perhaps a new black hole opening? Maybe the universe itself being eaten up..?

The Hadron Collider has already changed the world, to a degree. And despite lots of fanfare and rumors of demise, we haven't faced anything too awful. That we are aware of. Then again, they are adding a second of time to the clock this summer. But that has nothing to do with the Hadron, even though I saw a rumor on some oddball website--even odder than mine--that it does..

Maybe the Langoliers coming ..or wait, that’s a Stephen King book. Not Hawking.

But what we do know is this: The extremely updated Collider is going to search for signals that could become a new model of physics.

And maybe open a  black hole, too..

Rain keeps falling, down. After 30 years THE BREAKFAST CLUB still matters..

30 years after the BREAKFAST CLUB, it is coming back to some theaters.. It is interesting now to go back and see what TIME magazine, then in 1985, said about the classic movie.

One fun concept is to look at what will never happen again, thanks to modern technology..  It was a movie for its time and of its time, but yet somehow stands the test of time. Yes, outfits are different.. the technology is limited..

But there’s one common thing shared by that of all generations: Our attempt to fit in, find our niche, and create a ‘character’ out of our reality. In the BREAKFAST CLUB, the most amazing part is that all of the characters, by the end of their Saturday detention, actually discover who they really are because they are faced with the clear vacancy of others judging them. I bet, though, by Monday their egos were back and they ‘role’ resumed. But it’s all fiction, right?

SOME SCIENTISTS WANT US TO STOP SENDING MESSAGES OUT TO SPACE

And it makes sense as to why.. If no one knows earth is here, this pale blue dot, why tell them? Why announce ourselves to potentially hostile beings from elsewhere? Why give a big blast of "HELLO UNIVERSE" to creatures that may want to simply enslave us or take our resources..?

Don't reach out

This is the very real concern of some very real scientists.. The UK INDEPENDENT has the full story on the fear..

The basic gist: Leading scientists at SETI, that little place that has been searching for alien life for as long as I have been alive and then some, are proposing that we beam the signal we send out to the universe and direct it specifically at the potentially hospitable zones for life as Kepler has recently found.. In doing so, the hope would be that actual beings hear the message and either answer back, or I suppose travel here.. and destroy every living being on earth. Well, that is the fear at least..

The argument made by those who oppose: Evil alien intentions will be made easier by us, the dumb thumbs of the planet earth, letting them know all about us. It's the cosmic way, some may think ,of announcing on Facebook, "hey I'm going on vacation and I left my door open!"

Some leading scientists have pondered about this potential for a long time.. Steve Conner in the INDEPENDENT reminds us:
He is not alone in his concerns. Professor Stephen Hawking, the Cambridge cosmologist, warned in 2010 that humans should keep as silent as possible because alien civilisations may be attracted to Earth and have the technology to travel here and exploit its resources. “If aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America, which didn’t turn out well for the Native Americans,” he said

The BBC report

The BBC's Phallab Ghosh writes this,
Researchers at the Seti institute have been listening for signals from outer space for more than 30 years using radio telescope facilities in the US. So far there has been no sign of ET.

The organisation's director, Dr Seth Shostak, told attendees to the AAAS meeting that it was now time to step up the search.

"Some of us at the institute are interested in 'active Seti', not just listening but broadcasting something to some nearby stars because maybe there is some chance that if you wake somebody up you'll get a response," he told BBC News.

The concerns are obvious, but sitting in his office at the institute in Mountain View, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley, he expresses them with characteristic, impish glee.

Impish glee.. it's all impish glee until a fire storm of hell rains down on the planet earth by hostile beings from elsewhere--and they may be especially angry when they get here and I LOVE LUCY is simply a long memory of our television infancy..

It is an interesting concept.
One must first assume there's aliens among us, out there somewhere, who are poised and ready to either pounce on our faces or elevate us to a higher existence. I am sure like humans, good aliens and bad aliens abound.. But if we get unlucky and reach out to the wrong crowd first, our homes burn down and we're left to wonder why high paid scientists said 'hi' to begin with..

Of course all this worry could be for nothing.. even if an alien race got our message, they may be hardpressed to get here quickly.

Unless they are already here. . . like the Greys.

And we all know what they do..

When the entire world seems to ignore the plight of children abused by the elite, the only one left to turn to is Anonymous.

The UK INDEPENDENT, as evidenced by this screen cap, declared war on tee elite who have been accused of abusing children:THE FRIDAY THE 13TH MESSAGE

Laimat Sabin reported this in the dispatch:
“Politicians, royals, media, religious figures, singers, actors, men and women; it seems that the long grotesque arm of this club has no bounds.

“You think you are safe. You think we will not directly interrupt your lives. You are wrong. You are the stuff of nightmares.”

“We are calling for an evening of action. On Friday 13th we will march to the homes of some of those involved in this nightmarish cover-up,” it added.

The network of masked campaigners have claimed that Operation Death Eaters will engage in a protest focusing on “elite paedophiles” in the hope of launching a victim-led independent inquiry into child abuse, rape, torture and murder.

For those living in some sort of a hole--or just paying attention to the mainstream media that doesn't report these sorts of things--there is an ungodly scandal taking place in the UK..  Not only does it involve the still circulating and still being released details of the ghoulish Jimmy Saville, but also some other news of decades of abuse in Rotherham--abuse that was also covered up by anyone who could stop news of it coming out.

There are stories not only of intrigue and scandal, but also torture and abuse--and killing--of innocent children at the hands of the elite abusers.

And don't for a second think this is confined to the continents not where you are located.. here in the United States, a story seemingly swept under the rug is that of Jeffrey Epstein, the rich sex offender who may have provided underage women for a prince on his private island. He also had over 20 numbers for former President Bill Clinton--something I assure you Hillary won't want discussed before her aged bones decide to run for the highest office in the land next year.

Their message

SKY NEWS reports this news written by Tom Parmenter:

Activist network Anonymous is planning a day of action to expose establishment child abuse and cover ups.

The group, best known for high-profile computer hacks, has codenamed its latest task 'Operation Death Eaters' and is demanding an end to secrecy around abuse networks.

It says it will collect and then publish mass information on abuse scandals in the UK and around the world in the hope of ensuring people are fully aware of "paedo-sadist" abuse.

The message is clear: Anonymous, the network known for exposing a number of embarrassing and sordid details about lots of people in power for lots of years, is aiming its Twitter feed at those who harm children. Dare I say this: Even those who, because of the mainstream media's ability to bias stories about Anonymous, may think they are about to set a course and agenda to do God's work on earth.

Someone has to.
And for decades--if not longer, no one has.

So who are they?
You can follow the hashtag #OpDeathEaters on twitter..

Also this website names the names of the 'little black book' owned by Jeffrey Epstein..

The campaign made some news.
But did it do anything to stop things?

SEX SELLS ON VALENTINE'S WEEKEND

50 SHADES OF GREY is going to not only dominate the weekend box office, but there are hopes within the offices of Universal that a record could also be broken with the release of the sex-laden film in North American theaters..

The news so far, according to industry insiders: $30.2 mil Friday opening--that is a big number.. there is hope among corporate execs that it will reach or surpass $76 million for the week--and if that occurs a record could go down for a Valentine's opening.. by Monday, a federal holiday, there are predictions the movie will surpass $90 mil!

Lots of sex.
Popcorn.
Sweat..

A scene of steam

The heat will likely continue in box offices throughout the rest of today, Sunday, and even Presidents' day, when instead of honoring past chief executives, people will be heavily breathing in dark theaters near you..

DEADLINE has more, and one piece of news is certainly giving this 50 SHADES 'release' an unholy twist,, Anthony D'Allesandro writes,
Should Fifty Shades final at its current weekend projections, it is bound to find a place among the top R-rated weekend openings of all-time.  2003’s Matrix Reloaded currently owns the top FSS for an R-Rated film with $91.77M while 2004’sPassion of the Christ is the top weekend opener, and R-rated pic, in February with $83.8M.

Take that JESUS!
Keep the crown of thorns and give Americans their sex..

Cupid's dangerous arrow: Those ancient Romans and what they gave us

Those ancients were wild and crazy..

valentine_custom-9e9220109b917ec126df608774dec75a10afbe40-s400-c85

Imagine the scene: A naked herd or folks dancing while the sacrifice of animals takes place.. There are smiles and cheers, and hopes that the burning animals will get the gods to give the dancing nudes fertility.. Oh, and then while the crazy Romans would continue in their deadly pagan rituals, men would draw names from jars and, for the duration of the festival, be 'coupled' with them.

All of this is described in this 2011 NPR story authored by Anne Seipel.. It showcases some of the darker origins of Valentine's Day..

And just as Christians always took on pagan traditions to make them their own, the same occurred here as reported by Seipel:
The ancient Romans may also be responsible for the name of our modern day of love. Emperor Claudius II executed two men — both named Valentine — on Feb. 14 of different years in the 3rd century A.D. Their martyrdom was honored by the Catholic Church with the celebration of St. Valentine's Day.

Later, Pope Gelasius I muddled things in the 5th century by combining St. Valentine's Day with Lupercalia to expel the pagan rituals. But the festival was more of a theatrical interpretation of what it had once been. Lenski adds, "It was a little more of a drunken revel, but the Christians put clothes back on it. That didn't stop it from being a day of fertility and love."

Around the same time, the Normans celebrated Galatin's Day. Galatin meant "lover of women." That was likely confused with St. Valentine's Day at some point, in part because they sound alike.

There is more to the story besides the NPR article..

Countless news bits from history showcase the reason for the season.. the Roman Festival of Lupercalia  is the heart of the whole thing, no pun intended. One highlight of the many things that occurred there: Two high-born young men stripped naked and sacrificed a dog and a goat. They smeared blood on their foreheads, then wiped it off with wool dipped in milk.. Sounds somewhat like the Bohemian Grove, don't you think?

I am a romantic at heart.. of course when you have a child, your romance takes a little bit of a back seat to the more practical parenting moments. But regardless, I still think love in the air is one of the most beautiful things ever--but Valentine's Day? Lust seems to be in the air.. fake emotions, and fake flowers.. the offensiveness of men ordering giant bouquets of flowers and sending it to women at work always made me chuckle at its ridiculousness. It's all for show--and more of a modern way of dancing to the gods of fertility..

Restaurants will be filled tonight with the hopeless dopes who will spend way too much money on a dinner they'd much sooner make themselves to save time and effort. But it's all about show..

Don't get me wrong. I like going out to dinner, too! But there's certain days to avoid restaurants. New Year's eve is one of them (made the mistake this year of partaking in highly priced bad food though) and Valentine's Day is the other..Mother's Day is the final avoid all restaurants at all costs day, especially if you work at one!

Triskadekaphobia times three

Yesterday I didn't add much hope to those with triskadekaphobia, reminding them of black cats, Jason Vorhees, and lots of other problems that may arise with a Friday the 13th..

But the Associated Press even hurt them more, pointing out the number of 13ths coming this year to be aware of..

As the screen cap proves, the AP dispatch gave the scoop:

13ths

Sure sure sure..

It's all fun and games laughing at a superstitious lot of folk.
Until someone loses an eye.

One GMO apple will spoil the bunch

Imagine an apple that never browns.. Never seems real. Perhaps never tastes real.. just a vacant, emotionless apple.

gmo

Welcome to your new apple, AMERICA..

Despite a big push against it, the first GMO apple in the United States was just given FDA approval. Safe to eat they say!

At this point, I don't have an opinion.. Everything has become so GMO related, it's tough to even care about it.. Fight MONSANTO and their weed killers? You're fighting an uphill battle.. The real battle is just to find your source of good, healthy, and viable organic foods.. The challenge may be difficult, but regardless of FDA approvals and certifications of safety, I still think eating a fresh and healthy bin of apples from organic growth is better than a chemically enhanced specimen that never grows brown.

But that's just me..

Reuters reports:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) approved two genetically engineered apple varieties designed to resist browning that have been developed by the Canadian company Okanagan Specialty Fruits Inc.

Okanagan plans to market the apples as Arctic Granny and Arctic Golden, and says the apples are identical to their conventional counterparts except the flesh of the fruit will retain a fresh appearance even after it is sliced or bruised.

Only hours ago the USGS said a 6.8 magnitude quake struck near Ukraine. Russia said it didn't, and then the USGS followed with a retraction..

At this point investigators need to be determining e if this was intentionally done

Yahoo news reporting this tonight:

New troubling details are emerging about the livery cab driver who survived the fatal crash of journalist Bob Simon in a car accident this week.

Police have confirmed that the Lincoln Town Car transporting the longtime “60 Minutes” correspondent to a medical talk about Ebola on Wednesday night sped up before rear-ending the Mercedes-Benz in front of it and crashing into metal barricades on Manhattan’s West Side Highway.

Again Brian Williams? Again?

"What was my wow … I’ve been so fortunate. “I was at the Brandenburg Gate the night the wall came down."

The NBC tall tales continue.. With Williams suspended, there's lots of time to go through each record of every word Williams ever uttered--and there have been lots of them. Get ready for a big amount of oddities and strange non-occurrences of his brain to penetrate our society at large..

Wait.. didn't mainstream news talking teleprompter reading heads tell us the blogosphere and now social media were just liars and frauds vying for attention?
Cue the special report music..

Enter this:

Williams went on to tell a possible whopper at the Gipper’s Ronald Reagan museum in 2008..

The only problem with him standing at the Brandenburg Gate is that he really didn’t. Tom Brokaw did. Williams arrived 12 hours after it came done. But it was a long time ago, right?

I figured six months would be ample time to find the other Williams whoppers ..

While we're at it..

MID ATLANTIC EARTHQUAKES

A strong magnitude 6.9 earthquake has struck in the open waters of the Northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge; the quake struck within the last 30 minutes

The NATIONAL TSUNAMI WARNING CENTER says this:
"A destructive widespread tsunami threat does not exist based on historical earthquake and tsunami data. However, there is the small possibility of a local tsunami that could affect coasts located usually no more than a hundred kilometers from the earthquake epicenter."

FRIDAY THE 13TH

Until I saw—quite literally—a black cat walk underneath a ladder this morning, I completely forgot the calender read Friday the 13th..

So for all of those out there with that sick sense of doom lurking behind every bad event, happy day to you all..

In 2004, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC detailed the horror that some people face when they wake up on the 13th when it’s on a Friday.. the fear.. the refusal to even get out of bed!  In that report 11 years ago, NAT GEO said that over $800 mil was lost in productivity because of people neglecting to live their normal lives, instead fearing the 13th..

I would imagine that fear is only amplified as time goes on..

For those with triskadekaphobia, it’s going to be a long day.

The roller coast rode known as Art Bell continues

After 24 hours of fans in confusion and anger, Art Bell has reversed course from last night and is again posting messages as though his return is back on the rails..

This came from his latest venture on Facebook:

IMG_2542.PNG

With little substantive information vein revealed at this time, it's unsure as to the potential fix this may have over his alsmot decisive tone last night that DARK MATTER may not happen at all.. This more hopeful note of course comes with a caveat..

Perhaps Bell is just informing his fans of progress.. Maybe trying to gain more attention and interest in a return.. Or just shoots from the hip and thinks later ..

Only 24 goes ago, Bellgab users and others online were actively saying they 'quit Art Bell.' Tonight the tune has changed--and perhaps now there is a course for Bell to return to some kind of airwaves in July and play his own tunes as well...

Art Bell scrubs DARK MATTER RADIO plans? Bumper music is the reason

Art Bell's words speak volumes:
I have some very sad news to report, barring some sort of miracle there will be NO Dark Matter Radio show. Here is why: I will be unable to use ANY Bumper music, I will be unable to use any Theme music. The cost of using even the small amount that I use in my show stops us cold. Both Keith and I have talked this to death and there is no way around it.

Yes I could do the show with no music but I will not because it was part of the very soul of my show as any of my former listener's know. I feel like crying to be honest with you. Keith and me along with others have poured time and money into this effort. I was about to spend $20,000.00 on just the Studio here in Pahrump. We had also cleared free streaming just as I had promised. The ..bottom line is that the music Industry has in my opinion shot themselves in the foot by making it impossible for anybody in my position to stream or provide any copyrighted music on the Web. That is why nobody, even Rush will do it. I am so sorry. If anything changes I will be right back on it. Just sad.

The BELLGAB thread is lightning up..

Another message posted:
It warms my heart for some of you to be saying you do not care but for me it was a major part of the energy for me and I think the listener as well, I picked bumper music like others might pick a fine wine for a special dinner, it was part and I think a major part of the magic.

The comments thread on Art Bell's Facebook page is alive as well, even with some offering their personal assistance, advice, and monetary help.. It remains to be seen if Bell will respond to the numerous fans who undoubtedly will give their blood sweat and tears to hear another broadcast this summer..

Bell responded to several Facebook posts both critical and lamenting his seemingly early demise on online podcasting:

A DEVELOPING STORY..

AND ANOTHER:

ART

It's so hard being an Art Bell fan..

THE PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH NEVER CLEANED UP AFTER A POWWOW

This is a story from my local area–but worthy of some attention from fans of the macabre or slightly paranormal..

In Auburn, PA, a tiny little hamlet in Schuylkill County, a secret existed behind the walls of a quaint house..

FOX 43 ran a story about the Bretzius and their discovery of a disturbing secret behind their walls: It was insulated with dead animals..

WNEP interviewed the family .. as expected, Kaiji Bretzius was a little shocked and horrified by what was hidden in their home..
We were shocked, horrified, and disgusted

Fair to say that would be the emotional of us would experience if faced with the same circumstances, no?

WNEP’s  Jackie de Tore goes on to report more:
The mother of four said they first found animals in the walls back in 2012 and have been removing the items ever since.
The dead animals were all wrapped in old newspapers from the 1930s and 40s.
She said when they got a home inspection before they bought the place in Auburn, the inspector didn’t find a thing.
“We got the radon inspection. We looked for everything. We didn’t know to look for chickens.”
The family said when they bought the house in 2011, it was their dream home because they weren’t going to have to do any work, but now that’s all they’ve been doing.

Insurance isn’t covering the situation since the corpses of the animals were there long before this family bought what they thought would be their dream house.

A dream became a nightmare according to their account. They aren’t sure if all the dead animals are out..

Various reports indicate that the animals were most likely placed there because of the old Pennsylvania Dutch tradition of pow-wowing–an American folk and magic belief held by the Dutch in the Keystone state decades ago, taking from even older traditions that link back to Germany..

So what a tale! Witch doctors and powwows.. the Dutch. Home ownership. Undoubtedly a perogie and sausage sandwich will show up sooner or later..

But there are some not buying it.

The family has chosen to begin a GO FUND ME campaign to raise more money to get more dead animals from out behind the walls.. but at least a few viewers of WNEP and readers of the article aren’t believing the tale..

A few snippets from a few commentators on the WNEP article:
Get freakin real! Mold? There is NO WAY, NO HOW in the WORLD, mold will be caused from a dried up old carcass from the 1930s-1940s. There’s no moisture there. There wouldn’t even be a smell. Creepy? Yeah. Insurance claim? Come on. Welcome to home ownership. Inspectors can’t find everything. They don’t have x-ray vision.

Another:
GoFundMe? How about this: go after whatever home inspector who didn’t do his job, or the previous owners who didn’t disclose the Dead Animal Insulation. Asking for handouts is so damned cocky.

This:
Someone should do a fundraiser to help remove the bones and spices. Maybe a few of the hunting clubs, wait, wait, I know……….THEY COULD SELL T-SHIRTS………

This one from ‘neighbor’ is interesting:

This was actually my aunt and uncle’s house. They lived there for close to 50 years before it was sold, but they did move in it after the critters would have been put in the walls and I can honestly say that they had no clue that any of this was there. I visited there many times growing up and they raised 4 boys and we never were sick or noticed odd smells. It must have been exposed when the walls were ripped out in construction.

Regardless of a few ‘spicy’ comments–powwow pun certainly intended there–the Go Fund Me campaign is already raising some cash..  The story is also making some national news now that various other ABC and FOX affiliates are picking it up.

One comment the Go Fund Me account perhaps said it best.
Look on the bright side… It’s not haunted

As long as the powwow inspired Dutch medicine man in Pennsylvania got his ancient potions and magic right of course.

Mr. TV head man is about to rule your world. And then some.

Samsung TVs freak users out by inserting ads into movies »

If people are creeped out by this, they must have missed last week’s big news that SAMSUNG is warning purchasers of smart TVs that they should not have personal conversations in front of the device for fear that third party advertisers will get a hold of it..

It should all be creepy..

I can foresee one day coming soon—very soon since it seems to be going so fast lately—when you’ll be watching a home video of you in your private setting.. and your “SMART” device will note a product in the house. Perhaps a beer can, Pepsi bottle, or particular cereal.. suddenly you’ll be beamed an advertising lallapalooza ..

Until then, people will lament their smart TEEVEES..

And still buy them.

At some point soon I feel this will be commonplace---devices throughout a house will be so interconnected that there will not be a way to stop any of it. Our fridge will have a screen to advertise the products within.. our car will remind us to get gas and a coffee at the nearest location.. As we drive down highways we will be greeted with voice ads informing us of how much we 'want' and desire certain products.

We are for sale.
But the only thing not being taken into consideration: We will not have jobs. Robots will sweep us from just about every task we do.

Until then there, it is all fair game. We are for sale.
Your TV is watching you. And then some.

Brian Williams suspended; Jon Stewart stepping down: Which one is the bigger item?

Did news just die today?
Brian Williams was suspended after a number of days of intrigue.. He lied about a helicopter in Iraq years ago. He also is being doubted over his tales of Katrina of watching bodies float through the street ... And now, six months from now when Americans will undoubtedly be baking under a late summer sun, we will see if NBC NEWS really brings back the anchor..

He may be forgiven.
He may be forgotten..
It also may give more time to the sleuths online who will notate any other potential lie that Williams may have uttered over the past lifetime we've all shared together.

However, a bigger event may have occurred today. Jon Stewart announced on the DAILY SHOW that he is going to step down at the end of this year--he hosted the program since 1999 and has become one of the most influential comedians in history. Not just because the DAILY SHOW has been filled with memorable humor, but also because he has become the Cronkite of our age..

He is trusted more than Williams and company.. countless Americans get their news from the DAILY SHOW each night or in snippets online the day after. His jokes are hard hitting.. they are important.. they are also game changing, often able to pinpoint hypocrisy not only within the ruling class but also within media as well. Jon Stewart brought humor back after 9/11 in a massive way.  He was the only person on television at the time who was noticing the inaccuracies in the Bush Administration during the runup to the Iraq war. After the war started, he was the sole survivor of truth on TV, giving people a humorous blend of soundbites and lies. All with a smile--but beneath the smile was the frown of truth and the exposure of emperors without clothing.

Brian Williams played a game. He lived in an act--one where he seemingly wanted to place himself in important events only to massage his own ego and inflate his own importance. He was caught. And caught up in a web of lies. With his Twitter account vanquished of all recent memory, the memory hole will have to be accessed. Undoubtedly people will still find more inconsistencies. It's a surety..

It's somewhat ironic, perhaps, that both Williams and Stewart made news today; Williams faked his way through teleprompter reading while Stewart wrote the material that would tuck Americans in each night. They could rest assured that while the world was in flames and turmoil, at least there's a way to laugh about it all..  There was much more truth on THE DAILY SHOW than anything else on the evening newscast..

Only days ago, Stewart even offered a hard hitting joke about Williams' potential demise:

Finally — someone is being held to account for misleading America about the Iraq War.

And how true that is.. The amount of those playing war drums are much more important than anything Williams did. But they aren't questioned much.. instead they show up years later as 'experts' on major networks.. With talking heads reading friendly questions in a corporate news environment.

Thank God we had the DAILY SHOW.
And I pray we still will..

I got to like Brian Williams when I was just 16 years old watching him anchor live coverage of Flight TWA 800.  During his coverage it was entertained that a missile hit the plane...

The record of history, of course, didn't speak of a missile. Though conspiracy theories still abound about Flight 800, the memory hole was carefully filled in with the dirt of 'official' truth..

Perhaps there is some weird confidential consideration to make.. a missile hitting an airline in 1996, and they say it didn't happen.. Williams in a helicopter in the early 2000s saying a rocket propelled grenade hit, but it didn't..

Tonight the news died.
But not because of Williams and his verbal missteps.
Instead because the real newsman of our time left one of the last remaining vestiges of truth in our time..

PRESIDENTIAL SWEATS

I’m not the only one who noticed an unsettling image of a sweaty Obama last night.. Matt Drudge did too.. Of course he took it a step further pondering if Obama knows ‘something terrible’ is on the way ..Though I still think the 2009 phase of flies being attracted to Obama was much creepier..

I’m not the only one who noticed an unsettling image of a sweaty Obama last night.. A lot of people watched a very sweaty and strange looking Commander in Chief give a message to the GRAMMY Awards audience last night about domestic violence..

Twitter was alive with comments about Barack Obama’s odd appearance.. Lots of people saw the sweat piling up on his brow ..

Matt Drudge did too.. Of course he took it a step further pondering if Obama knows ‘something terrible’ is on the way ..Though I still think the 2009 phase of flies being attracted to Obama was much creepier..

APPARENTLY THEY EVEN LOOK LIKE SMALL TACTICAL NUCLEAR STRIKES WHEN THEY FALL IN UKRAINE..

THE GIGANTIC BLAST THAT ROCKED DONETSK, UKRAINE, APPARENTLY WAS AT A CHEMICAL PLANT. VIDEOS SHOWING THE GIGANTIC EXPLOSION WERE BEING SHARED ON SOCIAL MEDIA WEBSITES AND INTERNET FORUMS, WITH SOME CLAIMING IT WAS SMALL, “TACTICAL NUKE.” “THIS WAS CAUSED BY A DROPPED CIGARETTE BUTT,” THE UKRAINE ARMY’S ANTI-TERRORIST OPERATION SPOKESMAN, ANDREY LYSENKO, SAID, ACCORDING TO RUSSIAN STATE BROADCASTER RT.COM. “ACCIDENTS OFTEN HAPPEN IN FACTORIES WHERE NO ONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FIRE SAFETY. WELL, IT’S CHAOS, AND THEY ARE BARBARIANS.” »

This is quite the swerve in the information department..

A day of people exploring the possibility of a new type of weapon.. and now this.. The massive explosion has a cause: A cigarette butt?

Something is not adding up here..

THE ROTHERHAM SCANDAL ENGULFS UK

UK MIRROR REPORTING: CHILD SEX ABUSE GANGS COULD HAVE ASSAULTED ONE MILLION YOUNGSTERS IN THE UK: ROTHERHAM’S LABOUR MP SARAH CHAMPION DESCRIBES IT AS A “NATIONAL DISASTER” AND IS DEMANDING A TASKFORCE TO FIGHT THE “HORROR” »

The UK MIRROR running this story by Lucy Thornton..

Among the troubling text, this:
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mirror the shaken MP has told how she ‘nearly lost her mind’ after victims turned to her for help – unable to trust the police or local council.
She is currently getting an average of 10 victims a week coming to her for help.
Fighting back tears she told how she feared having a nervous breakdown worried about failing the “amazing women” and her horror after finding out a manual for grooming existed for paedophiles.

This has been ongoing for some time.. Five months ago, I had a post about this when news broke that UK politicians failed to stop the crimes against children in Rotherham that went on for almost two decades..

The UK seems to be the place of perversion as of late.. Not long ago Jimmy Saville’s disgusting image was gracing lots of publications each time a new tidbit of perversion was revealed to the public about his life and ability to molest without much ado..

This new MIRROR article detailed more:
“It feels like the Government is leaving Rotherham to die. It feels like we’re not on their doorstep so it doesn’t matter.”
She welcomed experts coming into Rotherham to help them but said the Government should have stepped in after the Jay Report, six months ago.
“We would have been able to move forward as a town much quicker,” she said.
“There are hundreds of thousands and I think there could be up to a million victims of exploitation nationwide, including right now. Girls in the process of being groomed,” she said.
“I have met people from all over the country.
“If you just think we know at least four big cases each with a couple of thousand each in smallest towns. It’s extraordinary.
“I was talking to sixth formers on Monday and all of the girls there had either personal or direct experience of people trying to manipulate them through sexting. You have online grooming.

There is some more news on the matter.. such as this: Nigel Farage has cancelled a public appearance in Rotherham because of protests outside his party’s office.

And more: Lawyer says complaints about Hassan Ali’s alleged unwillingness to pursue claims must be investigated despite his death after collision with car

Can’t leave out this: Rotherham Abuse Scandal Policeman DiesThe death of PC Hassan Ali, who was reportedly being investigated by the police watchdog, is not being treated as suspicious… Suspicious? how silly..

This from the IBTIMES: An editorial on the ‘what must be said’ Muslin connection, as according to the editorial writer..

I think a lot more will be coming out. And being said. And being reported.. rumors and fact will collide in a storm of horror.. But the number of victims will grow. It always does..

GRAMMY BADGE FOR MADGE: SHE WELCOMES IN THE YEAR OF THE GOAT WITH A BARE-BOTTOMED PERFORMANCE

GRAMMY BADGE FOR MADGE: SHE WELCOMES IN THE YEAR OF THE GOAT WITH A BARE-BOTTOMED PERFORMANCE

In case you missed the GRAMMYS tonight in favor of some more positive activities, you missed Madge trying to out do herself.. Forgive me Madonna, I know you’re trying to show off the remaining sex appeal you possess.. but you left me just thinking that you simply forgot to secure your adult diaper before the night began..

In case you missed the GRAMMYS tonight in favor of some more positive activities, you missed Madge trying to out do herself..

A lot of people are noting the weird array of references to the occult last night.. the typical stuff after a big group of artists meet.. But Madonna? She heralded in the year of the goat after ACDC opened the highway to hell for business.

Pop culture meets creepy..

BUT…

Forgive me Madonna, I know you’re trying to show off the remaining sex appeal you possess.. but you left me just thinking that you simply forgot to secure your adult diaper before the night began..

Closer to midnight one blast at a time

While the world seems fixated on pagan rituals and Illuminati messages at the Grammy awards, this big news just happened..

This is a photo screen grab from a video making big waves on YouTube tonight.. Some are saying is evidence of a tactical nuclear weapon being used in Ukraine.. Others say it’s evidence if a chemical weapons plant being hit..

Some speculate it’s a nuke . Others say it’s just a big big blast..

All things are sketchy right now and rumors are sort if insane..

I keep thinking back to that nuclear clock moving closer to midnight..
This is a developing story worth watching..

The sad reality of nostalgia: It really does not feel good

Nostalgia is a terrible feeling at times.. It reminds you that you are losing time, giving away minutes. Precious minutes.. Allowing the second hand to dictate your existence..

The smell of certain things, the sounds.. The cold at night under a moon.. Fog on a a warm evening.. All I those things bring back very specific memories or me. More accurately, they bring back feelings..
They bring with them a melancholy and infinite sadness.

Don’t get me wrong.. I enjoy my current state if existence quite a lot. But those creeping moments of yesteryear occurrences are becoming more pronounced.. The thoughts of life as it goes gets a little more fire. More serious..

Youth is drying up.. Sure 34 is the new 19. But that’s only because people say that when they age..

There’s a memory I have of a foggy night in a dance club in Allentown PA.. A night I danced with the woman who years later would became my wife. My wife who birthed our son.. Our family who is growing together with the pains , laughs, and trivial concerns that life brings..
And the clock ticks away. I swear it gets louder as time goes by..
Nostalgia..
All of this may sound a bit glum for a Friday night.. But that’s just me sometimes.. Some have a green thumb. I have a glum thumb..
Nostalgia.

As crazed and sad as I may sound, I know you feel the same way too.

Poltergeist then and now

A few months ago, I introduced the classic film POLTERGEIST to someone younger in my family.. She was born in the late 1990s and did not have a notion of pop culture of the 1980s or the reason the Stephen Spielberg film changed everything. I really played the movie up to her, as well. I mentioned the spooky scenes, the scary clown, the bizarre tiny psychic, and the tree that came to life during a thunderstorm. By the time she had made it through the movie she was unimpressed.. It wasn’t scary compared to the compelling gory snuff films of today. And among the horror of our modern world, you can find a few gems, don’t get me wrong. But I still find the original POLTERGEIST compelling, deeply frightening, and yet amazingly beautiful and a story about how love perseveres.

Enter into the fray the newest incarnation, or should I say reincarnation, from Hollywood: Poltergeist is back. With iPhones and flatscreens.. no fuzzy TVs in this version.

I saw the trailer a bit ago for the film. Every fiber in my being wanted to hate the remake. I wanted to loathe the trailer.. But I ended up being a little more enthusiastic about it than I imagined myself to be..

There’s a few things to contemplate here.. The 1980s’ version was amazing because it took on the ‘feeling’ of pop culture of the 1980s and made it the very essence of the film.. take for example the television set going to fuzz after the nightly NATIONAL ANTHEM played.. That scene, more than anything, constantly stuck with my as I grew up. Because I recalled the time when TV did that–when channels signed off for the day and networks would give people their Star Spangled Banner, complete with the video featuring lots of creepy subliminal messages. Beyond that, there’s the nostalgic feeling I still get when I watch the original movie.. There’s something deeply troubling, now as a parent, thinking about the loss the main characters were feeling during the film. And then the amazing miracle of love bringing them back together at the end. This movie is as much a drama as it is a horror. Spielberg created an immense classic..

So while I figure nothing will ever diminish his work with this movie, the newest trailer put me in a much different place than what I assumed I’d be in after watching it..

Let me first say, I dislike remakes for the most part. The Rob Zombie HALLOWEEN films were simply trash worthy of a garbage heap.. the newest NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET had no meaning in my life.. Sometimes there’s a score but for the most part it’s Hollywood rehashing old ideas and attempting to get some street cred with the use of modern gadgets and phrases.

While I think the new POLTERGEIST may still do that, I sort of changed my tune when it comes to this movie.

I think this generation needs that ‘pop culture’ fit .. I think it needs a film that one day, when they go back and watch, they too will become nostalgic for the 2000 teens. Maybe this movie will do it. It could, and it should.. If it sticks to the Speilberg concept of keeping a family together with love, ensuring the triumph of good over evil, and reinforcing the notion that you don’t busy yourself conjuring up demons under your bed, then it may have an impact.

There are a few notable things in the trailer. First off, the use of a flat screen TV is an obvious thing.. no more big giant boxed versions with antennas on. The is the new world.. There will be more cellphones and technology will be showcased–just as it was in the original .. What seems missing is the enigmatic 4-foot-tall psychic Tangina Barrons.. Maybe we will have a new memorable character in the latest..

There is debate within circles of fanboys and horror sites as to whether this movie will be a kids’ story or an R-rated horror.. back in January, there were rumors that this movie was going to be a 3D family friendly child abduction film *(if that is possible)*.. But the new trailer looks a bit more intense than a family friendly film.. The inclusion of a clown makes it even more worthwhile of horror..Even BLOODY DISGUSTING thinks the trailer looks ‘bonkers’ ..

Time will tell as the who will be happy seeing this movie and who will not be.
But as far as remakes go, POLTERGEIST may finally be one I deem worthy of viewing.

In the mean time, I went back in time and found the original trailer for POLTERGEIST in 1982.
I dare stay no matter what Hooper and company do in 2015, nothing will ever defeat the classic or the theme song, one of the scariest and yet most beautiful scores ever written:

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY house off the market

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY house quickly snapped off the market for under $800,000//  The house is gorgeous and, photos from inside show an even dreamier place to live. And the story is worthy of a flashback.. don’t forget, whoever is the proud owner of the humble abode, Oren Peli claimed he chose the house after real paranormal activity took place prior to making his first film..

At that time, Peli said when he moved into then house, weird things continuously happened there. And that’s what gave him the inspiration to make the movie.. The CBS8 2009 story also quoted a pool cleaner who visits the house saying, “We try to not pay attention. We just do our job and we are in there and we are out. It’s really weird.”

The reporter for CBS8 wrote this about the house itself: “Although no one was home, a faint banging was heard coming from the house.”  It is always difficult to tell fact from fiction.. other famous houses from horror exist, like the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET HOUSE that was purchased in 2013 (and it’s a beautiful clean and modern non scary place) .. and the AMITYVILLE HORROR location, which still attracts many and is constantly being sold and resold..
As far as the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY house, new owners can cleanse it of spirits and bring goodness between the four walls.

Or… let the oddities occur and let pool cleaners continue to be scared off by ‘weird’ bangs from inside.. So whoever buys it? Maybe you’ll have to clean the pool yourself.. and in the luxurious life of the rich and famous, that’s the truly scary thing..

The Quaid file

Randy Quaid attacks Rupert Murdoch in what may be the strangest YouTube video from a celebrity. Ever.. During the epic rant, his wife is on the bed in a bikini wearing sunglasses.. he refers to CHRISTMAS VACATION and Warner Bros stealing his house and the NEW YORK POST smearing him, and also complains of false arrests.. You can watch the video here..

I don’t think he blinked even once during this video.. But be warned, the video is not safe for work or after dinner.

At the end, Quaid has his wife put on a RUPERT MURDOCH while he either simulates or REALLY has sex with her while speaking about police media corruption.

VACCINE MEAN SEASON

Vaccines are suddenly becoming a campaign 2016 issue.. Rand Paul and Chris Christie both suggested that parents could choose to vaccinate. Others disagree vehemently.. Hillary Clinton stepped into the fray with a #vaccineswork Tweet.  President Obama has utilized his weekly radio address (yes they still happen) and other appearances, like his beer-swigging pre-superbowl interview, to advise parents to choose vaccines over not. But Rand Paul, the famed anti-establishment eye doctor who is not a Senator and vying for the highest office in the land, says that vaccines have dangers.. Paul said they they can cause profound mental disorders.. the Paul comments raised some eyebrows, and have others in the anti-vaccine world applauding.. you can see his unusually combative interview here on CNBC.. the interview was set to be about financial issues but it took a controversial turn immediately..  Paul says that ultimately vaccines are a good idea but he had his ‘staggered’ over several months..  When the interview turned back to stocks and economics the banter between the host and Paul seemingly went even more downhill..

Meanwhile on FOX news, Megyn Kelly argued that parents should vaccinate their children and “some things require big brother.”

The vaccine issue has been bubbling under the surface of reality for some time. A massive measles outbreak thanks to the filthy happy land of Disney has made it boil over .. Expect more as the cases uptick..

The only real thing strange about the groundhog at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney Pennsylvania is that anyone takes it seriously..

it is clear that if a groundhog did in fact see a shadow, it would be only due to the lighting from media cameras and flashes of personal devices..

The air this morning was thick. A snowstorm blanketed the entire state of Pennsylvania and others from late Sunday through today.. The groundhog, we are told, saw its shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of a slushy winter of discontent..

However, if you imagine a groundhog is correct, you'd have to suggest that there are paranormal powers abounding at Gobbler's Knob..

There is history to Phil and his powers.. the legendary creature dates back to the 1700s.. groundhogs were considered honorable and a pagan holiday entered the fray and led to the modern idea of Groundhogs Day. Jeffrey Pritchett detailed the history in 2012:
The name Punxsutawney comes from the Indian name for the location"ponksad-uteney" which means "the town of the sandflies."The name woodchuck comes from the Indian legend of "Wojak, the groundhog" considered by them to be their ancestral grandfather.

When German settlers arrived in the 1700s, they brought a tradition known as Candlemas Day, which has an early origin in the pagan celebration of Imbolc. It came at the mid-point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. Superstition held that if the weather was fair, the second half of Winter would be stormy and cold. For the early Christians in Europe, it was the custom on Candlemas Day for clergy to bless candles and distribute them to the people in the dark of Winter. A lighted candle was placed in each window of the home. The day's weather continued to be important. If the sun came out February 2, halfway between Winter and Spring, it meant six more weeks of wintry weather.

Pennsylvania's official celebration of Groundhog Day began on February 2nd, 1886 with a proclamation in The Punxsutawney Spirit by the newspaper's editor, Clymer Freas: "Today is groundhog day and up to the time of going to press the beast has not seen its shadow." The groundhog was given the name "Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Sage of Sages, Prognosticator of Prognosticators, and Weather Prophet Extraordinary'' and his hometown thus called the "Weather Capital of the World.'' His debut performance: no shadow - early Spring.

So do mystical powers exist in Punxsutawney? Is this legendary creature truly the sage of sages?
Or do grown men in hats just like being a part of a long standing tradition and playing the game of prognostication?

Logic tells us that a critter can't predict weather.

But recent botchups in forecasting tells us perhaps meteorologists can't either.

So get your gospel of weather and climate from the creature of your choice.

It looks like these people are quite fond and proud of the seer of seers:

The hot air is blowing strong

ORIGINAL POST PUBLISHED FEBRUARY 1 2015 AT 10:29PM. UPDATED FEBRUARY 2 2015 AT 7:45 AM

It may not be a war of words, but a cold wind of tension has taken over the popular message board BELLGAB this week.. While the Superbowl and New England Patriots victory played out on television, Art Bell and George Noory were busy playing their own radio version of a war of words.. Bell, who has messaged considerably more often on BELLGAB and Facebook than any time since his Sirius radio program aired, issued a direct message to Tom Danheiser, Lysa Lyon, and George Noory. The message seemed to cut deep enough that Noory himself returned to BellGAB to respond.

Art Bell's message in total:
 To, Lisa, Tommy & George

I am posting this here because I know you read here by the hour.

You may have noticed that when I made my announcement on FB I did not in ANY
way mention George or even Premiere. That is because I was hoping that I could
put all my efforts into preparing for the show I am going to do. It is not in your
interest to make this a War because as the 500 pound Gorilla in the room any conflict
does not work in your favor at all. I was and still am hoping we can simply both do
what we do and see how it all shakes out.

However, taking Jimmy away from Keith was kind of low brow, having George get on
the air and pretend to "help" me by talking about my return and then playing my now
very old show where I was told to say "George gets it".....well, it just does not seem like a
good start.

Let's start fresh! I will not go after you guy's and you don't go after me. Lets both do what
we do and see how it comes out in the end! I am more then happy to have a smaller, higher
quality show if that's how it plays out.

I will not hit, but I will hit back.

                                                                                Art Bell

Noory, hours later, issued a response using BELLGAB:
Some of you have asked that I reply to Art's most recent posting and I shall.
First of all and this is directed to Art. We ALL wish you well in your return and you can count on us not launching a first strike lol. I think its great that you are doing what you do best. My announcement of your return was just that----you created C2C and I felt I owed it to you to make that announcement. I wouldnt do it for anyone else. If you DONT want me to engage in promoting your return, please say the word so all  can see that it not me doing it!!!

As for Jimmy Church....we didnt steal him from Keith I just found out a few days ago that he wants to do his own thing (he called me) He has only filled in on two shows. Hardly stealing him away.

Id like to address your feelings that we were poaching on 'your' guests during your Sirius show. Never...they were all told that they could do any show they wanted and that included Richard C Hoagland and the psychic twins. What they were told was that IF they were on your show on a Monday...we wouldnt have them on immediately thereafter. Some of the guests you selected had already been boooked on coast and once they appeared on your Sirius Show...we moved them. I do believe the twins didnot unedrstand Tommy's discussion with them . As for us popping up on Sirius/XM after you left. As you know we were on XM before your were hired on for years..The channel was discontinued cancelling many shows and we immediately started negotiations to get back on a different channel and would have ended up on the INDY Channel (the one you were on) after your show aired. Once you left, they quickly wrapped up negotiations.

the somewhere in time shows are selected by one of our producers who simply picks shows based on what we have in the vault. Frankly, he should have run the 'George gets it" show....years ago...lol.....

and lastly you asked (I am told) on your facebook page to have Bellgabbers to call into my show. Rest assured we dont play that game.....We sincerely wish you well. and trust your family is well.

You have my personal email so if at anytime you wish to privately email me...please do so.

George Noory

PS We dont peruse BELLGAB hourly  ...maybe every two hours lol
Be well

This is not the first time that Bell and Noory have spoken to each other without directly speaking to each other. BELLGAB was the venue previously, when Bell hosted DARK MATTER on Sirius radio. Noory slowly left the message board and started hinting on his program that people who 'live in their parents' basement' and utilize 'chatrooms' such as Bellgab are haters and without much merit or credibility. It was only on Friday night that Noory, speaking in a strangely deep voice, almost sounded to be trembling while discussing people online who 'hide' behind fake names and say cruel things.  BELLGAB users latched onto those comments and sensed Noory was speaking of the message board.

This latest twist in the saga of BELL vs NOORY will no doubt get as much fan attention as previous fights.  Some of them comments back to Noory take no prisoners:
Go to bed you drunk.

You should contact Art directly when you sober up.

Another:
Go jump in a portal.

Art Bell took George Noory to task in a return message, again postd to BELLGAB.

Bell wrote,
I guess I will have to work from the bottom up, I defy you to show me where at any point
on my Facebook page or ANY other place I have ever asked ANYBODY to call your show.

Second, for a guy who "does not believe in coincidence" you seem to have a endless number
of them when it comes to me, from Oates forward, simply too many to recite here.

Third, with regard to Poaching, it has nothing to do with my "feelings" and more to do with actual History.

Fourth, As for your "popping up on 104" I don't care, it was a shrewd business move and I would have
done the same thing had the situation been reversed, I made my bed with that situation and I have to
live with it.  My choice today would be the same for the same reasons.

Fifth, I hope that your promise not to launch a first strike begins now after the 2nd strike has already
landed. I also hope it includes the others YOU will say launched it when it inevitability comes.

Sixth, WORD! Meaning no thank you, please do not promote in any way my return in July. I along
with a few close friends will carry that water. If whoever keeps making you mention my name at the end
of each show will allow you to stop, please do.

Seventh, Jimmy Church was Keith Rowland's guy and I guess it is just another darn "coincidence" that IHeart
Radio owned by Clear Channel snapped him up a Week before he did his second show on Coast.

All that said, let us both do the best Radio we know how to do and barring any "coincidental" launches this
should end our discourse.

                                                                                                 Art Bell

We Tweeted earlier today that BELLGAB was going to be center stage in the return of Art Bell. It appears even more likely after tonight's Superbowl fireworks..

One big game ended.
In radioland, another big one is just heating up..

The Debbie Dower Super Bowl

I am surprised with how 'down' all of these Super bowl commercial are..

The Nationwide child death ad seems to have upset the entire nation.. Along with lots of tearful and somber ads of dads crying and dogs running..
This year we are being hit hard with emotions.. Advertisers a seemingly have abandoned all forms of humor and replaced it down doldrums and a mood slump..

Katy Perry lit up halftime with color and craziness, but the new ad order of sadness was on full display..

Why all the dismay?
Why all of the melancholy blues?
Touchdown..
Field goal.
Smiles you'll lose..
It's the way to sell, to tear at your heart..
Advertisers have learned a new way.. Just remind people of how much life can often suck. And they will buy.
And cry..
Tears have filled empty nacho plates this Super Bowl Sunday..

Nationwide is not on our side..

THE GLOVES ARE OFF ON BELLGAB: PAGE 666 BEGINS A WAR

Anyone following the ART BELL saga knows what site BELLGAB is.. it's the home to a dedicated fan base of various people from all walks of life who, in the spirit of online honesty, come together to lament the way Coast to Coast AM has changed since Bell left as the prime steward. But now it's becoming the new hangout for Bell himself, who has previously utilized the message board during his Sirius stint, but appears to be stressing a more active role on the site.

Last night, the gloves came off on page 666..

Premiere Radio networks has been airing a program each Saturday called 'Somewhere in time' for years, much to the chagrinne of Bell, who has asked them repeatedly to cease the weekly show. Instead, they continued it. This week,  after Bell announced his new program will air on the Dark Matter Radio network in July, Premiere chose an interesting program for the Somewhere in Time. It was a show from 2002 in which Bell not only alluded to a future trip with his wife at the time--one that would became fatal and tragic--but also had a caller doubting George Noory. Bell told that caller three words that have lived in infamy: "George Gets It."

Last night on BELLGAB, Art Bell himself posted a message showcasing his acknowledgment that Premiere used the Somewhere in Time show as not only a shot at Bell but also a reinforcement that Bell once said Noory 'gets it' in relation to the themes and reason that Coast was successful to begin with. Bell wrote this:
One last thing since we are on 666, Yikes 667 already!....."He gets it" is what GN's new Boss asked me to say.
Gee, just one last thing, that they have chosen that show only shows me that little beads of sweat are on their faces. Frankly I don't care what they do, only what I WILL do.
                                                                                                  Art

P.S. Georgie, when you are forced to mention my name after every show please throw something in about July!

Entertainment can be cruel.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

In the Sirius radio botch, Bell admitted that he lost that battle and Premiere radio won. There sounds to be much more to the story, one we may hear in July when Bell freely and for FREE broadcasts his program across the internet. Bell even admits that AM radio is dying and the future is through social networking and online podcasting. Some fans wish he would have entertained that long before he considered Sirius radio. But history is history.

What is clear for the present time,  though: The gloves are off. If Bell senses he lost a battle,  he may have regrouped for the war. All eyes are on Bellgab for more.

George Noory himself went there before he called users 'haters.'

As the battle continues..Stay tuned for more. As always, we will be following. And actively engaged on the message board as well.
