Thanks for reading and be safe in the world..
The perfect drink of the future Saturday night out will be made by robots
Everything is a science.. from how much ingredients go into baked goods or meals to how much liquor goes into the perfect evening cocktail. . . So much science that people, with human error, can mess things up on a grand scale.
Enter the robot revolution.
The future of manufacturing has come and gone, with robots replacing so many people. Restaurants and bars are next.
So much for the fight for Fifteen when the fight of the future may just be for a job in itself..
From the WALL STREET JOURNAL, a good story on the coming robot revolution: They will offer drinks, dinner, and a massage.
The MONEY QUOTE:
When restaurateur Patrick Beijk opened Mofongo’s Distillery & Cocktail Bar in the Dutch city of Groningen in 2013, he went looking for a machine that could scale the space’s jewel-colored wall of spirit bottles. The robot he bought to do the job saves time and draws in curious customers, he said. When Mr. Beijk opened a wine bar last year, he bought a two-armed cobot programmed to extract wine from bottles without removing the cork. In Singapore, AiTreat—a startup at Nanyang Technological University—has created robots that can give Chinese medical massages, which focus on acupressure points. The massage robots, which are warmed to 100 degrees Fahrenheit to mimic human hands, are being tested at the offices of chiropractors and therapists. Now Hiring: Robot Babysitters Robots need managers too. Meet one robot specialist who gets paid to look after several robot security guards that roam offices in the San Francisco Bay Area. Photo/Video: Emily Prapuolenis/The Wall Street Journal Both Mr. Beijk’s and AiTreat’s cobots were made in part by Universal Robots, which sold its first cobot in 2008. Last year, the company sold 8,600 units. Universal Robots President Juergen von Hollen said the Danish firm has spurred wider adoption of cobots by using open-source coding that allows developers to tailor the company’s machines to their own specifications.
Rear reaction: Monroe statue shocks near church!

This news coming from Stanford Connecticut..
It’s a jarring sight for members of the First Congregational Church: The underwear-clad buttocks of Marilyn Monroe mooning the downtown parish.
A 26-foot Seward Johnson statue illustrating the star in her iconic pose from “The Seven Year Itch” was installed this week in Latham Park as part of the Stamford Downtown Special Services District’s “Art in Public Places” series that lasts through the summer.
But much like the subway grate stirred up her skirt, Monroe has created a whirlwind in just a few days in Stamford.
Lorri Tamburro, a lifelong Stamford resident, was disturbed when she visited the statue with her husband and watched children climbing up Monroe’s leg and looking up her skirt.
“I just find the position to be offensive,” she said. “It was, in my eyes, very disrespectful. I looked at it and I think because of what I saw with all these little kids looking up, the height is ruining it. It’s ruining beautiful Marilyn.”
Halloween forty years later: The night the trailer came home
Reaction across the net has been strong and supportive.. While there were initial reports that the movie had to be re shot and re-screened to ensure viewer support (especially people angry at the end) this initial finished product trailer appears to capture the spirit of the original Halloween, along with the music and feel. There is one interesting part where people are asking if Michael Myers was Laurie Strode's brother, with one person answering that it was just a rumor and not true.
The mask in the film appears extremely similar to HALLOWEEN 2's version..
It will be interesting to see the way John Carpenter takes this script and re imagines the original storyline of the babysitter killers he made famous in 1978--40 years ago this year.
Will the magic of Michael Myers continue with this generation? Or. . . has too much time passed for the iconic HALLOWEEN slasher to remain frightening?

Bourdain fate: The great unknown

Anthony Bourdain, a gifted storyteller and writer who took CNN viewers around the world on his program PARTS UNKNOWN, has died.
He was 61.
CNN confirmed Bourdain’s death on Friday and said the cause of death was suicide.
A master of his craft, but seemingly not the demons of his mind..
“It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain,” the network said in a statement Friday morning. “His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.”
This comes at a time where news releases indicate that suicide is one of the highest causes of death in America and in history.
There have been some other recent famous hangings.. Conspiracy theories are abounding.
On Friday's INFOWARS program with Alex Jones, the host claimed that Bourdain recently had been meeting with Elon Musk and was about to turn into a Donald Trump fan. He hinted--not outright accused, but hinted--that the Bourdain death is more fire than smoke.. more conspiracy behind the scenes. Perhaps, Jones insinuated, not a suicide but one to be made look like one...
Hawaii Kilauea volcano: Renewed threat to the big island and drone reveals big cracks
The latest from the Hawaii volcano scene according to REUTERS:
A stream of lava as wide as three football fields flowed over a highway near a junction at Kapoho, a seaside community of rebuilt after a destructive eruption of Kilauea in 1960.
The lava flow left Kapoho and the adjacent development of Vacationland cut off from the rest of the island by road, according to the Hawaii County Civil Defense agency.
Also, lava destroyed a freshwater lake, boiling away all of the water in it, the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reported late Saturday, local time.

Toxic sulfur dioxide gas emissions have created an additional hazard. So too have airborne volcanic glass fibers, called "Pele's hair," wispy strands produced by lava fountains and carried aloft by the wind.
One resident, Nancy Avery, said the glass strands hurt like paper cuts, slicing into her fingers and feet, toes exposed because she wore only sandals. She tried to pick up a strand but, "It just kind of melted into my skin and cut me. It's so sharp, it feels like the glass is still in there."
There is more information of strikingly nature coming from the state: A drone footage captured the volcano from the sky -- but also revealed some very strange cracks as the vent is expecting with the crater floor collapse.. The area of the collapse is now more than half the original area of the original crater......
Seven people have been killed and nearly 300 injured after Guatemala's Fuego volcano erupted, officials say.
At least six people were killed and another 20 injured on Sunday when Guatemala's Fuego volcano erupted violently, spewing a stream of red hot lava and belching a thick plume of black smoke and ash that rained onto the capital and other regions.
"It's a river of lava that overflowed its banks and affected the Rodeo village. There are injured, burned and dead people," Sergio Cabanas, the general secretary of Guatemala's Conred disaster agency, said on radio.
"We are evacuating and rescuing people and have reports of 20 wounded, six dead and disappeared," said Cabanas.
The latest numbers after this initial report now indicate 7 dead..300 injured.. the numbers will rise..

The volcano, about 25 miles south-west of the capital Guatemala City, has been spewing black smoke and ash into the sky.
A total of about a million people have been affected by the eruption, the Guatemalan government says.
Officials have advised citizens to wear masks due to falling ash, which has been raining down in four of Guatemala's administrative regions.

HEATHERS reboot becomes causality of modern real violence
HEATHERS was a 1988 cult favorite that featured teen murder and suicide.. The remake not shelved was based on the film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater..

It was set to premiere in March, but was delayed after the Parkland, Fla., shooting in which 17 people were killed.
Viacom says the subject matter is not suitable in the current environment.
It is, however, open to the possibility of selling the show to a more fitting outlet.
Bill Murray asked about Weinstein.. and appears to not be fully aware of the situation?
Murray was asked to respond to a comment the disgraced former mogul made in 2014: “Being a Murray-ite is a religion, where you can behave as badly as you want to people, and they still love you. I used to feel guilty about behaving badly, and then I met Bill, and it feels so much better.”
“Well, I think Harvey was saying something funny, and you can take something someone said a few years ago out of context, but I think that’s a funny thing he said,” Murray says, seemingly unbothered, before pivoting to the wider context.
“Are you asking for a comment about Harvey Weinstein? I mean, I don’t know exactly what he’s being accused of yet, but I know some of the people involved in that situation, one very sweet person, and it hurts to hear her speak about it,” he adds. “Really, it hurts…I feel the pain about it, and the pain is not over.”
To remind Bill Murray, Weinstein is being accused of sexual misconduct -- and rape .. 80 women since last autumn have come forward.
Brian De Palma is planning a Harvey Weinstein horror movie.
Perhaps we have a potential cast member.

THE DANCING DOCTOR SCALPEL
In videos once posted to Dr. Windell Boutte’s public YouTube channel, the board-certified dermatologist can be seen singing as she cuts into a patient or rapping and dancing with surgical instruments in hand during surgical procedures.

DOCTOR STRANGE TO THE RESCUE! IN REAL LIFE!
The moment of heroism described and being thanked by the company:
Deliveroo thanked Cumberbatch in a tweet on Saturday, describing his actions as brave.
"Deliveroo riders are heroes -- their safety is our priority and any violence against them is totally unacceptable," the delivery company said..
Clumpersticks was with Sophie Hunter, rushed to the cyclist's rescue, pulling the attackers away and shouting "leave him alone," British newspaper the Sun reported on Saturday.
Yes.. my misspellings of Cunningsnitch is purposely done for humor.. but his DR STRANGE heroic nature is obviously praiseworthy..

Unusual laser emission from the Ant Nebula

Some space-aged food for thought to consider this weekend.
An international team of astronomers have discovered an unusual laser emission that suggests the presence of a double star system hidden at the heart of the "spectacular" Ant Nebula.
The extremely rare phenomenon is connected to the death of a star and was discovered in observations made by European Space Agency's (ESA) Herschel space observatory.
A nebula is an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen, helium and other ionized gases. The Ant Nebula earns its nickname from the twin lobes that resemble the head and body of an ant.
The recent Herschel observations have shown that the dramatic demise of the central star in the core of the Ant Nebula is even more theatrical than implied by its colourful appearance in visible images -- such as those taken by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope.
WEINSTEIN HORROR REVEALED!
Brian De Palma is returning to the horror genre with a new script inspired by Harvey Weinstein.
He made“Carrie,” and now according to the French publication Le Parisien (via The Playlist) that he will be taking on Weinstein’s sexual harassment and abuse in a new film.
Weinstein will not be a named character in the film, but he will inspire the movie’s narrative.
“I’m writing a film about this scandal, a project I’m talking about with a French producer,” De Palma said. “My character won’t be named Harvey Weinstein but it will be a horror film, with a sexual aggressor, and it will take place in the film industry.”
I am NOT thehorrorreport
This website has existed in a few incarnations, at one time with a DASH, but has been here steadfast since 1999 on an old Geocities website.
The new THEhorrorreport seemingly has been around since January of this year.
No offense taken. It's the net BABY.. all is fair game.
But we have been online since the 20th century...
We just wanted to make that very official at this time.

Blood thirty killer robots actively destroying all life in the universe!?
A.A. Berezin of the National Research University of Electronic Technology in Russia started by suggesting that ‘biological organisms like ourselves or rogue AIs that rebelled against their creators’ may have already destroyed every species in their way without even realising what they’ve done.
All that matters is it can.
‘I am not suggesting that a highly developed civilization would consciously wipe out other lifeforms,’ Berezin wrote. ‘Most likely, they simply won’t notice, the same way a construction crew demolishes an anthill to build real estate because they lack incentive to protect it. ‘This problem is similar to the infamous “Tragedy of the commons”. The incentive to grab all available resources is strong, and it only takes one bad actor to ruin the equilibrium, with no possibility to prevent them from appearing at interstellar scale. ‘One rogue AI can potentially populate the entire supercluster with copies of itself, turning every solar system into a supercomputer, and there is no use asking why it would do that. All that matters is that it can.’

DINO-MIGHT!
Universal has opted for a staggered release pattern overseas, starting on June 6 in Belgium, France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, and the Philippines. June 7 will see launches additional territories, including in Croatia, Greece, Hong Kong, Russia, Spain, Thailand, and Ukraine.
Expansion continues on June 8 in the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Austria, and Bulgaria. China and Egypt will open on June 15. Along with the U.S., June 22 will see openings in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Venezuela.
So often recently ,the North American box office matters much less than the global markets. This time, with the staggered effect, each market will matter as much as the other..
Perhaps a dinosaur will roar in your JUNE plans. Universal hopes so.

Courtney Love sued! Accused of plot to kidder former son in law to get back Kurt Cobain’s guitar!
Courtney Love is being sued by her daughter's ex-husband, alleging she conspired to have him murdered over ownership of her late husband Kurt Cobain's 1959 Martin D-18E guitar that was used during Nirvana's iconic MTV Unplugged in New York performance in 1993.
Along with several others, Sam Lutfi -- who managed Britney Spears during her public meltdown in 2007 -- is also named in the suit and accused of supplying illicit drugs to Love's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, as well as kidnapping, attempted murder, false imprisonment, extortion and more.
Final Destination averted in Russia
A cable snapped as the construction workers wearing GoPro cameras were about to fix the window unit into place in the skyscraper Moscow City business district.
By luck no-one was below.
The glass fell from a height of about 500 ft.
And there is video here:
Oswald Cobblepot isn't don't with BATMAN yet
Excitement builds in the world of Gothamites..
Variety’s Justin Kroll says that Oswald Cobblepot will be the one confounding the Dark Knight, posting the following on Twitter:
“Take this with a grain of salt as things are constantly changing in the DCEU but I’m hearing the Penguin is possibly the choice to play the main villain in THE BATMAN. Sources add even if Reeves decide to go another route the studio could then make him the main villain in BOP.”
This is just a rumor at this point.
The Tweets go on from Kroll:
Reeves is still working on the script, so that could always change but of the multiple BIRDS OF PREY scripts submitted, one does have the Penguin as the main heavy. Either way, it seems WB wants this character cast in the universe sooner rather then later.
The Penguin first appeared in Detective Comics #58 all the way back in December of 1941 .. let's all hope we see him again ... it's one of the best villains in any comic that ever existed.
