The scenes of sorrow in North Korea.... on state run TV

Newscasts on state run North Korean TV had reporters weeping when they told viewers the news of Kim Jong Il's death.. Scenes were displayed on the nation's programming of others weeping, too.. People crying in the street at the news of the demise of the dear leader..

As the hours tick on, more and more images appear to be getting broadcast on the national boob tube; the ultimate lesson in how to do propaganda in a nation that has little power, no internet connection to the free world, and no food to feed millions..

But crying they are.

The Agence France-Presse news organization is reporting that state run television is broadcasting scenes of "indescribable sorrow" .. people are pounding the ground in disbelief of the death and grief over it.. Bands are playing solemn music as smiling images of Kim Jong Il are displayed by the "media."

TV also is showing ruling party members banging tables and sobbing. The France-Presse reported that some people fear without showing enough mourning they will be punshied by the military like happened 17 years ago after Kim Il-Sung's death..

So cry they will.
Tears for fears.
Real tears, perhaps, in hunger and pain.
Pain over the freedom they don't have .. the power they don't have.. and the new ruler Kim Jong Un, the "great successor" who will work tireless for the happiness of the people............
