As we reported just days ago, sunspot AR1598 had the potential to produce some major M class flares.. On October 23 it surpassed expectation with an X.1 class flare--some earthly technology may be impacted over the coming 48 hours, but the lack of a CME means that no aurora will be occurring from the event..
There are possibilities however that the sunspot could further affect the planet earth.. AR1598 is slowly rotating to be in the direct view of the planet..
Space watchers say another venting of solar activity could occur within 24 to 48 hours..
