SONY about to profit off of Lam horror

I have really never liked horror movies based on true stories.. they seem a little over the top, often. And in this matter, perhaps insensitive and tacky.. Sony has just bought the rights to a horror movie based on the death of Elisa Lam in Los Angeles in 2013..

You may remember recent stories about Lam in the news. She was the student who was found dead in the water tank of then famed and cursed Cecil Hotel--for two weeks hotel visitors were complaining of a smell and taste in the water, later they found Lam's body.

In recent months, a surveillance video from the elevator in the hotel was made famous because it seemed to show Lam acting odd moments before she supposedly entered the roof area and somehow got into a high and secured water tank..

The coroner ruled the death to be accidental. Not an accident is SONY making profits off of the death of the innocent young woman.
