LOST IN 2017

You summarize a year often by recalling people who were lost. People of fame, fortune, misdeeds, or crimes, Cut down by the constant path of the Angel of Death. By the ultimate judge and jury of life.

2016 was an amazingly horrible year for deaths. 2017 began almost immediately the same and stayed that way for the duration of 365 days.

We are seemingly going through a change of age. Those figures we came to either distain or admire for a generation are gone. In January, wrestling legend and potential murderer Jimmy Snuka began it all. In December we ended with the most famous criminal mastermind of our time, Charles Manson.

All in a year.

All in twelve months.

Those we lost in 2017.

It would become the first of many hunger strikes Gregory would use as a method of protest from his early days right up until age 80…

That is the sad legacy of the wrestling giant– he was famous in his prime.. He couldn’t stand trial to do his time. And he is gone rot a greater judge and jury beyond the earthly realm in 2017.

STRANGEST face of the year: 2017 in review

When the Stranger Things cast went on stage to accept the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, actor David Harbour delivered an impassioned acceptance speech on behalf of the cast.

His speech — and the faces that Winona Ryder made during it — was the most viral moment of the evening.

BEST PERFORMANCE OF 2017

Lady Gaga at the Superbowl was far better than the game.

Far better than the ADS. And one of the greatest live performances that ever aired.

THE BEST WHOOPS MOMENT OF 2017

This may be the best video of the entire year.. a serious interview on the BBC interrupted by a family and frantic mom herding the children off of live TV. We need to laugh more. This video helps.

Spiciest of 2017

SNL has been praised for its newfound burst of anti-Trump humor.

But Alec Baldwin playing the president has gotten a bit old.

What never gets old however is Melissa McCartney employing a high degree of comedy as she played Sean Spicer, Spicey, on SNL.

Of course his stint with Trump lasted only months. We have only memories of the Saturday Night LIVE version that almost, in a sense, made America like Spicey.

2017 year in review: Worst uniform of the year

Customers wondering if they got their idea from the FIRST ORDER from STAR WARS..

The biggest story of 2017 that no one wanted to talk about

In the wake of Michael’s death, his mother, Sherri Kent from Calgary, has taken to Facebook, where she posted photos of her son in the hospital in an effort to show the side effects of opioid use and how it ended her son’s life

BELOW THE FOLD: THE BIGGEST STORY THAT NO ONE TALKS ABOUT

Heroin and meth use across small towns in America have destroyed main street, families, lives, and the future.
Businesses are closed. Whether it’s because of NAFTA or just economics in general, there are few places for people to work. Few places to play. Malls and stores are gone. Chain restaurants exist but nothing of family value.

And with this vapid and rapid existence of healthy lifestyle, another thing took its place: Drug use.
Not just recreational> Life altering, life ending.

Heroin and other opioids are silently whispered about. People who condemned the druggies only a few years ago are now burying their once healthy children because they couldn’t just ‘kick the habit.’
We are in a crisis of epidemic proportions. But we’d rather not mention it. It makes us feel uncomfortable as a society.

Instead we’ll keep burying the young. That’s easier than actually finding a solution, apparently.

GREATEST AMERICAN ECLIPSE OF 2017

GREATEST ECLIPSE OF THE YEAR
The GREAT American eclipse on August 21, 2017. It made history as it darkened the United States slowly that hot August day. Those who experience totality were amazed and dazzled.. like being placed in a distant world of high strangeness. Those who experienced only a certain percentage were just as impressed, as hot sidewalks became cool, and an odd aura of dimness prevailed across the land.
The next big moment comes in 2024. And after that it’s just about done for a while.
But this year?
This year was historic and amazing.

The horror entertainment of the year

I don't have to recreate the list others have already done.. the top movies of this year undoubtedly contain the films IT and GET OUT. While GERALD'S GAME is also considered a great flick, I didn't much care for it..

Concerning IT, the movie's magic works because of how similar it is to STRANGER THINGS.. Pennywise is the horrid clown in a town full of uncompassionate and scared people. Children going missing, bullies reigning their terror on adults and kids alike.. It would seem that Derry is the worst place to live..

But...could it be worse than the small hamlet in GET OUT? Where a weekend getaway exposes hatred and is a truly amazing portrayal of modern racism?

Or the town from STRANGER THINGS. Where not much happens. Except for an underworld creature of the upside down snatching children, and BARB..?

All of these places seemingly are the worst places for people to inhabit.. But viewers can be delighted by watching in the comfort of their own beds or couches, or cozy modern movie theaters..

The top five of the year, movies/Netflix combo, in order of goodness:

1: STRANGER THING 2
2: GET OUT
3: MINDHUNTER
4: IT
5: JUMANJI

Yes, you saw that last number correct.

Jumanji.   Future president the Rock had some lackluster acting.. the cast ensemble, however, proved amazing. The late 2017 movie was a homage to the past, nostalgia, but yet recreated Jumanji in a new light.. it was potentially one of the better movies I have ever seen. I mean that.

WEIRDEST MELANIA OF THE YEAR: 2017 YEAR IN REVIEW

BEST MELANIA OF THE YEAR

The first lady had just as weird a set of months as her husband, the dear leader.

Whether it was denying that she had a stand-in body double or awkwardly standing watching Christmas dancers with a pale sad face, it was a whirlwind in 2017 for the First Lady.

WEIRDEST TRUMP OF THE YEAR: 2017 YEAR IN REVIEW

There were so many! Like this image from Halloween, where President Trump welcomed various children into the Oval Office. He noted that the Asian girl near him was present, and told he was going to China for a trip.. And then he began to tell the children not to be like their parents, their parents being members of the ‘fake media.’ He took his passive aggressive anger out on the adults in the room snapping photos by telling their kids that they should not be proud of the parental professions of their guardians..

Another bizarre moment occurred soon after Trump was sworn into office. In May, when CBS’ John Dickerson interviewed him and asked about controversial topics, Trump immediately stopped the interview and walked back to his desk Resolute. He sad down. And picked up what appeared to be a blank paper.. the silence was overwhelming and awkward.

Another fun time came during the Great American eclipse on August 21 (more on that later) .. thought warnings persisted for weeks prior, the President seemed to defy logic and safety as he looked directly at the sun without protective glasses for several seconds.

And while we can go on forever, we’ll sum up the final moment only with the video of what appears to be Donald Trump’s teeth dislodging as he told the world that Jerusalem was now the capital of Israel.

YEAR IN REVIEW: THE BIGGEST NEWS STORY OF 2017

THE BIGGEST STORY OF 2017

It was without a doubt the story that fed people a certain sense of tabloid, scandal.. revelation. This was the year of the great Celebrity Apocalypse!

The great unveiling! All of the sex scandals from politicians to media figures.. and even Harry Knowles from AINT IT COOL NEWS. Nothing this year seemed to surprise.

Whether it was Matt Lauer purchasing sex toys or having a button under his desk to lock women in his office, or a Kentucky legislator Dan Johnson shooting himself in the head after being stunned by information he was under scrutiny of media due to sexual molestation. This was the year where #MeToo hashtags led to women (And men) revealing secrets became the TIME persons of the year.. Where conspiracy theories about Hollywood’s culture of child molestation became factual. Corey Feldman suddenly redeemed by revelations of truth from Tinseltown. And George Bush Senior became known as David Cop-a-feel. His own nickname stuck after various women spoke of his rear grabbing habits.

Al Franken was brought town. Roy Moore was shown the door…
So any names. So many stories. So many victims.
The eyes of the world are now watching.
And though Bill Cosby’s trial did not end with successful prosecution, what mattered this year is the public eye’s verdicts. And by 2017’s end, as soon as a tidbit of information was dropped, our culture decried and asked for termination without redemption.
In an age where all scandals are true, the subject of activity is guilty until innocent..

CHRISTMAS DAY NEWS ROUNDUP 2017

WE BELIEVE: MERRY CHRISTMAS 2017

The lights that adorned this page have  been taken down. Christmas, a white one this year with a fluffy inch or so on the grassy surfaces, is ending..

The annual buildup and energy to the biggest holiday of the year is finished.

365 more days to go until the next budget busting seasonal fanfare.

The whirlwind amount of unwrapping makes the hours worth of work seem futile.

But this year, my son still believes. His honest and true 6-year-old heart is beautiful. The joy he brings his family is incredible. The youth and vigor in which he faces like is inspiring.

I hope you have inspiration as these 535,600 minutes of 2017 come to an end..
And in '18?
I hope we all experience a season of love.

And believe.....
Hope.
Hope springs eternal.

SILENT NIGHT.
HOLY NIGHT.

PEACE ON EARTH.

'I Don't Know Where It's From': Former UFO Program Head On Navy Jet Footage .. Elizondo tells Morning Edition's Steve Inskeep that Pentagon staff didn't always understand what they saw. Among the mysteries was recently-released footage recorded from the cockpit of a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet. In it the pilots can be heard marveling at an object, astonished at its speed and how it seems to rotate, inexplicably, in the air..

Ex-Navy pilot describes an eerie encounter with UFO.. MORE: “It was a real object, it exists and I saw it,” he told the Washington Post. “Something not from the Earth.” Fravor spotted the flying object on Nov. 14, 2004, after a break in a routine training mission about 60 to 100 miles off the coast between San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico, the newspaper reported. He was searching for some flying objects that officials had been tracking, when he spotted one hovering above the ocean’s surface. It looked like a “white Tic Tac, about the same size as a Hornet, 40 feet long with no wings,” Fravor said. “Just hanging close to the water.”

MERRY CHRISTMAS! DISCLOSURE!?

Glowing Auras and ‘Black Money’: The Pentagon’s Mysterious U.F.O. Program Revealed!

FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES:

In the $600 billion annual Defense Department budgets, the $22 million spent on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program was almost impossible to find.
Which was how the Pentagon wanted it.
For years, the program investigated reports of unidentified flying objects, according to Defense Department officials, interviews with program participants and records obtained by The New York Times. It was run by a military intelligence official, Luis Elizondo, on the fifth floor of the Pentagon’s C Ring, deep within the building’s maze.
The Defense Department has never before acknowledged the existence of the program, which it says it shut down in 2012. But its backers say that, while the Pentagon ended funding for the effort at that time, the program remains in existence. For the past five years, they say, officials with the program have continued to investigate episodes brought to them by service members, while also carrying out their other Defense Department duties.
The shadowy program — parts of it remain classified — began in 2007, and initially it was largely funded at the request of Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat who was the Senate majority leader at the time and who has long had an interest in space phenomena. Most of the money went to an aerospace research company run by a billionaire entrepreneur and longtime friend of Mr. Reid’s, Robert Bigelow, who is currently working with NASA to produce expandable craft for humans to use in space.
On CBS’s “60 Minutes” in May, Mr. Bigelow said he was “absolutely convinced” that aliens exist and that U.F.O.s have visited Earth.

This is disclosure, in a sense? The idea that not only UFO enthusiasts claimed secret government programs existed but also that secret UFOs confounded the government as well?

…all of this happening just about in the same pattern that Tom Delonge said it would..

Disclosure: Not with a bang but a whimper with a Friday night news drop.

Politico picked up the story..
RAW STORY did too..
The Navy released footage..
The New York TIMES led with it…

AIM IS DEAD! LONG LIVE AIM!

AIM IS DEAD!
LONG LIVE AIM!

AOL Instant Messenger died a silent death today. It was announced many months ago that the messaging service would cease to exist in December.

And today? It was over.
DEAD..

From AOL:

We know there are so many loyal fans who have used AIM for decades; and we loved working and building the first chat app of its kind since 1997. Our focus will always be on providing the kind of innovative experiences consumers want. We’re more excited than ever to focus on building the next generation of iconic brands and life-changing products.

I, like YOU, spent countless nights in the late 90s and early 2000s getting to the know the Internet while spending time in AIM. My name was Loomicide. And now... It’s AIMicicde. Gone.

And the saddest of all? YOUR BUDDY LIST IS GONE.

Can I save my Buddy List?
Unfortunately you are not able to save or export your Buddy List.

The net is reborn every hour.

But those old days of the wild NET west?.....they are the the days that will never come back again.

RIP.

I do believe in Santa Claus

I WANT TO BELIEVE

I really liked this GIF enough to reblog it.. I want to believe, as well.. And somewhat do.

Let me explain.

We are filled with mystery and mayhem, this universe.. Christmas night is the ULTIMATE and most paranormal night of the year–even if you believe in Santa or the religious view, it is beyond belief. Santa can fly all over the world. Deliver gifts. Not be noticed. At the same time we worship a ‘savior’ who was born in a manger … wise men followed a star to give him gifts. He was born of a virgin. And then eventually would go on to die and rise from the dead.

How more paranormal can you get.

My son recently asked me if I believe in Santa. He is in the 1st grade and some kids have begun to talk about the reality of the situation.

I told him I do believe in Santa. AND I DO!!
I believe..
I believe because we are in a multiverse.. filled with endless potential. Endless realities. And why not .. and why would not Santa, in some realm, be real? And in some realm, why would he not be a time traveler? Someone who can defy space itself to get here.. deliver gifts.. bring hope to children facing hunger and disease, sadness and strife, all across this cold land? Why not..?

I don’t just want to believe.

I do believe.

The old fashioned war on Christmas revisited

All Christmas activities, including dancing, seasonal plays, games, singing carols, cheerful celebration and especially drinking were banned by the Puritan-dominated Parliament of England in 1644, with the Puritans of New England following suit.

Christmas was outlawed in Boston, and the Plymouth colony made celebrating Christmas a criminal offense, according to “Once Upon a Gospel”The Puritans of New England then passed a series of laws making any observance of Christmas illegal, thus banning Christmascelebrations for part of the 17th century. A Massachusetts law of 1659 punished offenders with a hefty five shilling fine.

In England, the ban on the holiday was lifted in 1660, when Charles II took over the throne. However, the Puritan presence remained in New England and Christmas did not become a legal holiday there until 1856. Even then, some schools continued to hold classes on December 25 until 1870.

The upper classes in ancient Rome celebrated Dec. 25 as the birthday of the sun god Mithra. The date fell right in the middle of Saturnalia, a monthlong holiday dedicated to food, drink, and revelry, and Pope Julius I is said to have chosen that day to celebrate Christ’s birth as a way of co-opting the pagan rituals. Beyond that, the Puritans considered it historically inaccurate to place the Messiah’s arrival on Dec. 25. They thought Jesus had been born sometime in September…

After the Civil War, America needed a lift.

Christmas Day was formally declared a federal holiday by President Ulysses S. Grant in 1870.

….the rest? Was…history.

Commercialism took its course.. Krampus came back en vogue.. and Santa Claus’ time traveling ways would not get him locked up in a slammer anymore.

All is right with the world.

So yes. INDEED. There WAS a war on Christmas. And Starbucks cups weren’t involved.

The apocalypse is now. Institutions destroyed across America

Yesterday before Savanah Guthrie even was able to finish her sentence that NBC executives suddenly and decisively fired MATT LAUER from the company, news outlets already were running blazing headlines.. Drudge's siren rolled out from the 1990s GIF graveyard.. People were able to commentate on Youtube live streams within seconds. Reactions on Twitter were ferociously pouring in.

The firing happened so quickly that there was an awkward moment when the story of Lauer's termination was posted right under a logo still showcasing Lauer's face..

We are saturated with media. We are surrounded by opinion.. we are disturbed by the constant zeal of citizen reporters giving us eye opening accounts in truth that was once held secret by a ruling class.

And we will never get over it.

To sum up what happened in just one day of news is almost impossible.

Many women are now coming forward with accounts that Matt Lauer had sex with them, showed them his penis, had a button under his desk to lock the door, and may have done much worse. The allegations were so specific that NBC did not do the typical media suspension/investigation. Not at all..they fired on the spot, leaving the hosts of NBC's TODAY SHOW to only have seconds of time to react with class and expertise.

IT did not end there. Garrison Keillor last his job at PBS, though on a scale of Lauer his actions (thus far) seemed to pale in comparison. He even used humor when addressing it. Keillor said that he tried to console a woman when his hand went up her dress. She got a lawyer. He lost his job. He wrote jokingly that he always wanted to be fired, but for something heroic instead of what occurred.

And it did not end there!

Almost immediately, the President reacted on Twitter. @RealDonaldTrump decided to weigh in on the Lauer situation, albeit only briefly. His big focus seemed to be another NBC media star making millions a year; JOE SCAROROUGH.  Trump Tweeted that executives of 'fake news' NBC should be fired.. and that Scarborough should be investigations for the 'unsolved mystery' in 2001.

Trump is referring to the death of then Congressman Scarborough's intern in his office. Lori Klaisutis was found dead with a head injury. An official report at that time said she had a heart condition, leading her to somehow fall and hit her head, only to die in her desk. The family disputed that, however, because she was an avid runner. Years later, NBC kicked off DAILY KOS' Marlo's Moulitas for bringing this issue up on the year. At that time, Michael Moore raised questions and even registered a domain name implying that Scarborough killed his intern..

Take a breather...

All of this in one day. One sole day.

This has been a whirlwind of a year. Allegations along with dynasties destroyed.. It would appear that ever since Donald Trump won the election in 2016, there has been a day of reckoning EVERY DAY in some regard.. some form of America has crumbled, at least the America that was built over the past few decades. Political families ruined.. Hollywood stars crumbling.. Journalistic institutions filled like cesspools of sultry sexual escapades. Nothing seems safe.
We already had a decade of Catholic church scandals ... But lately there has been an increase in priestly affairs, pun intended. People close to the Pope involved with human trafficking (check Wikileaks if you want proof) .. priests in Italy supposedly molesting children but still practicing sacrements.

The light of illumination is shining brightly on the scarred landscape of humanity as of late..

One particular subject matter that has yet to be fully vetted or talked about: Pedophila networks within government and Hollywood. Corey Feldman is going there. He has been publicly going there for years, but lately upped the ante with specific talk about how said awful things in Hollywood led to the drug addicted Corey Haim to kill himself..

In what now seems awful, Matt Lauer interviewed Feldman on the TODAY show a few weeks ago and was particularly rough on him about the topic, highly questioning the information and allegations presented. And now.. fast forwarding a few days and Matt Lauer's questions seem to look very different when compared with his own potentially awful actions towards co workers and colleagues.

This is the year of illumination. Revelations.
And yes, quite possibly, this is by definition an apocalypse year..By the truest sense of the definition. The great unveiling.

Everything is beginning to unveil, unravel...Upheavel sure to come.

Locusts by Friday and end times on the weekends.
Enjoy...
