Jersey boom

This past weekend, New Jersey residents by the dozens began tweeting and posting on their Facebook pages that they felt an earthquake. Northeast residents now know how one feels, since the 5.8 August quake rattled nerves and buildings.

But after first hand reports on shaking began to fly online from Egg Harbor, Cranbury, East Brunswick, North Brunswick, Trenton, Somerset, Edison, Plainfield, Piscataway, Iselin, South Plainfield and other locations, the United States Geological Survey in Colorado said there was no quake.. no shake.. Instead, the USGS commented that the strange shaking could have been thunder or a sonic boom. The National Weather Service had no evidence of thunder.. Therefore the only conclusion that could be arrived at would by a sonic boom.. Perhaps from a distance, or a military jet.

Or maybe Snooki, somewhere on the Jersey shore dropping her purse.
