Things that go bump in the night have been making headlines for months. Towns hearing odd noises, booms, loud bangs.. Cities hearing the same.
And now comes this: An explanation of some noises coming from below the crust. According to new research: Magma creeps up through a crack in the Earth's crust and mixes with water. When it does it sets off a series of explosions, sometimes for hours, sometimes for weeks.
