A sinkhole opened overnight in Florida, and it is actually causing a resort near Disney World to collapse! The latest information on the scene is that a sinkhole beneath a building at Summer Bay Resort in Clermont getting deeper.. officials say it's not clear yet if the sinkhole is also getting wider. The Red Cross is on the scene, as a three-story structure collapsed around 3am Monday--this was also evacuated and no injuries occurred..
The Florida sinkhole is right int he middle of the resort.. the AP reports that a large crack is also visible on the building's base.. The latest on how big: The sinkhole is not 40 to 60 feet deep .. According to reports, there were complaints around 11:30 pm Sunday that the building was shaking .. Around 3:20 AM, a part of the building suddenly broke in half.. At this point another section of the same villa appears to be sinking..
The most noteworthy part of this Florida situation is that it is very close to Disney World.. CNN reporting this morning that the sinkhole is still growing.

And most interesting, the Louisiana sinkhole has been expanding for some time.. there have been reports of big 'burps' and other methane releases for some time coming from the Assumption Parish hole..NOLA DEFENDER now has video of one of those such belches.
