The first thing I am struck by is probably quite dumb to even mention, but it bothers me: He never sits at the desk in the Oval Office to address us, instead he typically stands at a podium.. Bush did this two on a few occasions, but I just don't like it.. To me that large desk with those bland drapes behind him and the photographs of his wife and children provide a more commanding platform for a leader to address the people..
But that really is not what mattered tonight..

Tonight on CNN, Andrew Sullivan told Anderson Cooper that the Obama speech persuaded him to back war.. Or whatever it is we would call it..
I do not know if it feels like the run-up to war or not, as suddenly the table has turned. The speech tonight that Obama gave was awkward and strange..
