Bayou bubbles: An update

At the beginning of July, Earth Informer and other sources reported on strange bubbling taking place in Assumption Parish, Louisiana.. Gas drilling and a leaking pipeline was being blamed, but curiosity was even higher because of strange tremors that the area felt during the bubbling.

And now weeks later, the investigation continues into what exactly is causing the Bayou to bubble..

According to a local report on CBS WAFB in Louisiana, authorities are still trying to establish a cause for Bayou Corne's bubbles.  The nearest cavern owned by Chevron has been ruled out. The USGS is going to speak to people in the area who have said they felt tremors. . Another news report from WAFB on July 12 said that seismic monitors will test reported tremors from at least two dates: June 8 and July 3..

And what is next? Besides more bubbling?

WAFB reports:
USGS officials are prepared to stay in Assumption Parish for four months, if need be. Meanwhile, officials continue to test the bubbles twice a day.
Officials have said there are no immediate threats that would call for an evacuation, but there is a voluntary evacuation in place.
