The week is coming to a close within hours.. and along with the close of the week the brewing solar storm is also heading to Earth. The X.4 flare yesterday was huge.. but could have been bigger of course. We should be glad it wasn't.
In the mean time here are some events occurring that are worth note:
- The fallout continues in the Penn State scandal .. The Freeh report will be talked about for years. But today Penn State is defending itself from it..
- Yahoo! has major security breach as 453,000 user passwords are posted online..
- Digg was a social media star only a few internet lifetimes ago.. and now it's sold to the highest bidder.
- Drudge Report says that Condi Rice is being considered by Mitt Romney for Vice President .. While Romney Rice sounds like a winning dish at a restaurant could it be a winning team to beat Obama Biden?
The weather threats for today include much above normal temperatures--and the problem is going to be what it does to our corn and eventual prices of the commodity. One report says the corn crop for 2012 hinges on what happens over the next 30 days.
There seems to be something troubling about sleeping through life. But globally we are not heeding the advice of the profit Ferris Beuhler, instead kids today are taking sleeping pills in huge numbers..
In the meantime here is a forecast track from the Goddard Space Weather Lab, this CME will hit on July 14 and definitely impact the planet Earth.
