Mitt Romney won a major victory tonight in Illinois, potentially solidifying his reign over the other Republicans in the field and propelling him to become nearer to the finish line of the needed delegates for a victory at the convention.. but a tale of two numbers ensues.
He won over 50% of the vote.. final tabulations are still coming in slowly because, after all that voter reform, some ballots still didn't fit into boxes intended for them to be housed in...
The other percentage, and perhaps more telling and important, is this: A meager 15% (as of Mid Afternoon) was the total of voter turnout across Illinois today.
And it was sunny. Not rainy at all.. no storms.. Nice and warm for March. And no one voted.
Mitt Romney's wake up call? Or the price one pays for inevitability: No one cares after a while..?
