NASA is doing its part to destroy the claims that Planet X will whip earth into a frenzy. They are also setting out to dispel any claims that the Mayan calender's ending foretells earth's ending along with it. They actually released a video in an attempt to kill off all rumors of end times in 2012.
NASA may be trying to calm the high seas of nerves that exist online. Millions of videos and stories and links have been posted on Planet X and December 2012 for years. Just last year millions were posted about the comet Elenin--a comet that fizzled before it even closed in on earth, making a mockery of the doomsayers who claimed it would be a 2011 Armageddon.
While the fears may have allayed for some, others ponder this question: Why did NASA even make this video? Why did the folks with high IQs even address the rumor and fear mongers? Why did they set out to destroy claims of end times in 2012?
Many people think NASA did a great service for science by addressing the mess. Others instead believe it simply justifies their fear: NASA is covering up the end times...
We won't know until those 'end times' have come and gone.
Which by the way, they have hundreds of times in the past. So don't quit the job and move yet. But it's never too late to start building an ark.
