There is shaking, explosions, and other unexplained noises. According to the CNN report, some say it sounds like rattling pipes or metal clanging. Homes are shaking--the noises are being heard on the other end of cell phone conversations.
Something is occurring.. something strange is going on.
CNN reports that the "natural" is inevitable.
While some on Facebook and other web sources mock the noises in Clintonville, others take it more seriously. Speculation ensues: Underground bases being built? Seismic activity? The earth... telling us a story of hate for humans? All this and more is abundant on the web, where stories like this have prominence over those of politics that one commonly finds on the big three 24/7 network news stations..One possible explanation is gas explosively escaping from underground rock formations. Another is a rock burst, which can happen when mining or quarrying uncovers long-buried rock, suddenly relieving stress and resulting in "locally loud, explosive reports."Others include meteorites, a phenomenon known as "booming sands" or even distant thunder, sounds that Hill wrote can be carried for significant distances under proper atmospheric conditions.
But jokes and rumors aside, the city of Clintonville is being kept awake by the booms that are going bump in the night.
