While Monsanto and others rush money into California to beat Proposition 37, the GMO labeling initiative, another story about the genetically modified crop producer is is raising doubts on just how big resistant the crops produced may be.
An Illinois researcher has now confirmed that that there is a rootworm resistance to Monsanto corn trait.. This may be a matter of the earth striking back. The Illinois research seems to help in the conclusion superbugs are being created by GMO crops!
What does that mean for the future? It could be an a lot. Imagine a work where crops fail despite the time and effort--and chemicals--being pumped into them. All because of us, and decades of GMO crops forcing bugs and insects to evolve into super-resistant creatures that cannot be beaten no matter how strong a chemical it is?
And perhaps one where those same bugs strike your body too: Monsanto is now taking on cotton, and maybe genetically modified clothing will be next.
