Only a few days ago, news came to light that experts were worried of a major earthquake off the coast to the Northwest US, causing a tsunami. And then this happens: A 5.6 hits off the coast of Washington. Nothing deadly or damaging.. but a wake up call and remidner that perhaps the news of the world just days ago is true.
The USGS said that the earthquake was 6.3 miles deep and it was located 190 aways from North Bay.. no tsunami warnings with this one..
But it certainly raises eyebrows.
Over the past several days, a swarm of quakes has been occurring off the coast of Southern California.. little tremors ranging from 1.0 to 3.0 all centered in places around L.A. and other cities in the South--nothing major yet, and nothing damaging yet. But the sawm has caused concern due to the amount of earthquakes hitting..
The most recent example of the swarm is in Ventura County, California, where a 3.0 hit along with several aftershocks..
