Anyone who predicts a definite path of Tropical Storm Isaac at this point should be probably be ignored at this point. While it's propert for officials in Florida to watch closely and warn all, weather models clearly indicate a shift westward has begun to occur with forecast tracks. As a matter of fact, some of them are not clearly not even near the Republican convention in Tampa, but instead heading to the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico--maybe with an Alabama or even Louisiana impact.
Which brings up this into my mind: The sinkhole.
The one that the HORROR REPORT and made other sources have been monitoring for months now, reporting about, thinking about, and talking about...? That sinkhole..
The latest on the Assumption Parish/Bayou Bubbling sinkhole is that Homeland Security is now monitoring with oversight..an explosive unit is on site.. One report is speaking about daily fines for Texas Brine, there have been evacuations, lawsuits, and now resignations.. People are not being told when they may be permitted to go back to their homes.. All this began mid-summer when houses began to rattle and shake in the dead of night, a bayou began to mysteriously bubble, and suddenly massive trees fell into the earth as an ever-expanding deep sinkhole formed.
And Isaac is lurking somewhere out in the sea.
I bring this up only because I contemplate what could happen to the sinkhole area should a tropical storm hit that same location? I am not an expert and wish not to speculate.. Although Florida residents are preparing now and the Republicans continues to wait and see about what to do with their convention next week, this is clear: The threat to Florida seems to be getting reduced. It would appear Isaac has other plans.. And it may go to the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico--and if it does churn in the 90 degree sea, it could become fully charged and surge to someone's coastline.
Everyone along the Gulf coast should prepare and be ready..
But again, I can't help myself thinking about what happens if Tropical Storm Isaac or Hurricane Isaac hit the sinkhole impacted Assumption Parish.. how much worse would weather like that make the already trying situation?
