THE APPARITION set for release..

THE-APPARITION-POSTERWill August be another magic month for horror?
Scary flicks typically do good during the late summer.
Jeepers Creepers became a summer sleeper in 2001. Ever since then it seems studios dump horror films into late August boxes hoping for quick cash as school kids and college folks are back in class.

Though horror is often slammed for not having many new ideas, THE APPARITION just may. Todd Lincoln did researcher with famed paranormal researched Joshua P Warren for the film--Warren is a frequent guest on Coast to Coast AM and is known around the paranormal world for his experiences and experiments on strange subject matter..

The cinematographer was Daniel Pearl, who was known for his work on the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE reboot in 2003..

According to Lincoln, speaking to ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY about the APPARITION, his new horror film is POLTERGEIST mixed with John Carpenter's PRINCE OF DARKNESS.. thrown into the mix is the potential reality of the 1970s' Philip Experiment..

The film, however, is not getting the wide release that other competitors are this weekend.

Action comedy HIT AND RUN will appear on almost 3,000 screens, thriller PREMIUM RUSH will be second with over 2,200.. And finally, way behind will be APPARITION with 810 theaters ..strong? weak? Time will tell. Maybe word of mouth and popularity will help Lincoln's film achieve more than one of only 800 plus theaters can.

Lincoln is not done on the horror front, by the way. He wants to make a film based off of Whitley Streiber's THE NYE INCIDENTS.
